I Like your Clothes! I'm never really sure what to say to the question "I love your shoes! Where did you get them?" or any other clothing item because I really don't want to say anything to incriminate me. The popular kids will laugh if you answer anything like "target", "payless shoe store", or some other department store, and the kids that I'm friends with call me stupid if I tell them that I bought them at Hollister. What is a generic answer that I can say that will satisfy everyone?

Aw mija, thats okay.
well i bought shoes and i got them at the payless shoe store? yet i buy abercrombie jeans & such. Let your voice be heard. It shouldn't matter who you are and wear you shop. My mom earns so much money from her job, yet she lOVES to shop @ little stores! Its okay, just let them know and if they laugh just be like " you asked!", its pretty pathetic. people are shallow, but the ones that aren't are true friends (:
Hope i helped.

i can't remember, can you believe there was only one left. ]
THey have a Payless and a Target at the mall. You can just say:
*the mall
or
*somone bought it for me
*it was a gift
*I forgot
Hope I helped! ]
hey. it shouldnt matter to them where you get your clothes as long as you like them that you are good to go! i mean come on target has pretty good stuff like i bought my bikini there i spent like $30 all together then going to like pacsun and spending at least $60 and it's the same kinda basically. give them an honest answer and if they laugh or something be like you know what i happen to like them. they are comfy and i can do things in them. it's better then spending $60 on shoes when i can get these.and if they still laugh then i dont think they are you true friends because true friends accept you for who you are regardless to where you get your shoes and certainly dont laugh at you. alright i hope i helped! lol take care hun. x3 SweetStar. ]
i got them for a gift
always works for me but i just say that if i forget... ]
fuck the popular kids... theyre losers... if you can get good stuff for cheap... for power to ya....who gives a shit what the popular kids think... we all kno that theyll end up working at a gas station ( haha ) dont worry ull be able to afford it when you rule the world :-D ]
Just say, "Thankss!!" and smile! And don't eveR be afRaid to tell wheRe you got something!! If someone compliments you tell them honestly wheRe the item was puRchased. I doubt they'll think baddly of you if you say some stoRe the "populaR kids" think is lame... because then they'll Realize that theRe might actually be some gReat things theRe!!! Who caRes WHERE it was puRchased oR how much it COSTS!! As long as you'Re happie with it.. that's ALL that matteRs!! =D ]
you shouldnt do anything to satisfy other people, especially the popular kids.POPULAR KIDS SUCK , losers are RAD. kk well anywyas (lol) hmm just be like "Thank you and i got it at ___" and if the say "oh." then just be like "i wouldnt be talking your the one who liked them too :)" and just walk away

you could say you got them as a gift or your friend gave them to you. hope it helps goodluck
*kaii* ]
Sometimes I would be one of those people who would kind of laugh or think its weird if people shop there. But now I honesltly dont care. I mean I shop at Hollister but I wont laugh or make fun of if someone shops at Target. So when they ask you could eather tell them the truth or just say I dont know. I got this as a gifl! ♥ ]
Ah, simply say "Thank you! Oh, someone gave them to me." Because it's true! Your mom probably gave you the money to buy them, or bought them with you. That makes it a gift if you did not pay her back. And if your mom gives you an allowance, and you used that to buy the shoes/clothes, it's still "a gift" because your mom didn't have to give you the pocket money.
Or, you could be proud of where you shop at and say it like it is. I do that.
"Where'd you get your T-shirt!?" "America's Thrift Store."
=D

Just say "Oh, I don't remember." Or "I got them as a gift, I have no idea." Or just go ahead and say where you got them! If you don't just want to say "I got them at payless shoe store" Then you could say something like "Haha! I got them at payless! I was walking by and saw them, and thought they were cute, and they were only $7! Isn't that awesome?!" People will think you're just a great bargain shopper! Hope I helped! ♥ ]
dont think wat everyones gonna say..satisfy yourself..remember this saying: be more concerned about your character than your reputation because character is who u are and reputation is wat others think about you ]
umm someone got them from me or i ordered them from online ]
Let them laugh... Do you think people don't laugh when i walk into schoolwearing a victorian dress? Just ignore them ]
Tell them "I don't know, I got them for a gift" ]
no offense, but that is the stupidest question i've ever heard. No big deal, hello!?!? Just be honest and just w/e. ]
Itt doesn't really matter what other people think. Just honestly answer where you got it from. And if you're friends call you stupid tell them they are stupid for caring. I hope I helped! ♥ good luck ]
well theres no right or wrong answer and no matter what ppl say online, yeah people care. haha my friends would call me stupid if i got stuff from hollister...but i do anyway. a simple "i dunno...does it really matter" could get ppl off your case or just tell them it was a gift. if you got it at target, say you got a gift card from your aunt and so you just used it b/c you wanted something new.hope this helps. <3 ]
ok, first of all... why worry about what other people think, i think i've said this 10 million times... too many people worry about what other people think about them to focus on what really matters... if someone thinks your shoes are cute, then they will still be cute whether you got them from target or hollister... so just smile and answer their question and be confident about it, don't worry about what they think, because 10 years from now, that won't matter at all ]
Just tell them that you don't know where you got your clothing item from, since you got it as a gift or you just actually forgot. Anything like that is a generic answer, in a way. ]
lol, there is nothing wrong with target or walmart or payless hun....the fact that you are willing to save money and not purchase something for a name shows that you are wise :) in my opinion, however, I know how peer pressure is. I hope this doesn't sound too lame, but you could change the subject quickly, or something on the lines of that. If you don't want to do that, believe me, those popular kids mom's shop at target too, whether they want to admit it or not. If they are commenting on liking your shoes, tell them in an upbeat way where they can find them. :) ]
If people are into what your wearing, it really shouldnt matter where you got it! Whenever I am a little embarrassed, I just laugh at where I got it. Try phrasing it like..."haha, you wouldn't believe it, but I actually found it at target/hollister!"
If you come off that it doesn't bother you where you shop, then alot of other people won't care either!
For example--it was a huge "no no" to shop at kmart where I am from--but now--they have some cute stuff--and for AWESOME prices--so everyone goes there for things!
Just always remember, the people who judge you dont matter, and those who matter wont judge you. Even when it comes to where you get your great deals and clothes/shoes! ]
well... i think that if you say something like "OMG, thank you so much!" where did you get them "Ohh, i wish that i could remember" or "I got them for Christmas so i dont' really remember" hope i helped! and i hope it works! ]
i would say that "my friend got them for me" or "its my little secret" lol (im trying here!)
hope i helped! ]
Try telling them that you got them as a gift, from an aunt or something, and you don't know where they came from. But your really glad that your "AUNT" knows "exactly" what you like. How lucky you are!

Best answer available- "Oh, I don't really remember!" it is really generic, and it makes everyone want to find out where you get your clothes! In fact, most fashion divas use this term to get around anyone copying their style...:-) ]
