Q: For school i have to survey about 50 different people( doesnt matter if i know them or not) I have to find out if they disagree or agree with a school policy and why( tardies,absences,grafiti,lockers,ect.)

Policy: Teachers are not allowed to write students passes for their next class if they have to stay late for any reason. I disagree with this policy because tests can take longer than the time alotted, so it is unfair for a slower student to be given a tardy for their next class if they have to stay and finish. Also, a teacher may ask to see a student briefly after class, and if this causes them to be late, it certainly should not be their fault.

Q: can people give examples of hooks in their essays? any essay? preferably not a statistic? i dont really know to to make an attention-grabbing statement.

I like using quotes from famous historical figures. For example, I was writing an essay about the importance of choice, and I began my piece with "Give me liberty or give me death." You can also try the more abstract way with: "Imagine..." and go into a story/anecdote relating to your paper.

Q: well heres the thing, i have really bad handwriting and i really want to make it better. If i write slow it looks fine, but i dont have time for that when im taking notes and stuff. Please give me some tip on how i can write neater!

It is definitely true that practice makes perfect. Also try not to connect letters because that can often make writing look like one big blod. It helps me write neater when I use a ball-point pen for some reason because it forces me to define each letter. When I use ink pens, everything blends together.

Q: okay well im a sophmore and i have a low gpa because i didnt care much last year. my gpa is 2.5 and i want to be a pediatric nurse or pediatrician if possible. do you think there is a way of that now i am getting just a's and b's first time in my life ive really cracked down. and if there is a possibility of me being able to get in to this career feild how high would my gpa need to be?

You can definitely still get into that profession. If you work hard, you can get into a respectable college, and if you do well for your undergraduate program, you can possibly go to an outstanding college for your graduate degree. If you have to, you can even start out at a community college and then transfer into a state college after your first year. There's lots of options still out there for you, don't get discouraged.

Why don't you make him a mix CD with 15 meaningful songs. It can include a song you listen to together and sing along with, or maybe there's a song that reminds you of him. If you put a lot of thought into it, it can come out really good, and he'll appreciate it just as much as he would appreciate any $100 gift.

There's always www.bored.com that keeps me entertained for hours. Also, you can set up a yahoo account and play the games, which are very entertaining. www.imdb.com is another fun website to check out the upcoming movies. If you get bored with the internet, you can try reading, doing art, or finding a new hobby.

So, this may not be the answer you're looking for, but there is an extremely cheap solution. 1) take an old pair of jeans that are the shade you want or darker 2) use sand paper to wear down the knee, crotch, and butt area 3) take the jeans and rub them in all different directions against the sidewalk (yes, like outside) 4) take white fabric paint on a toothbrush or a paintbrush and flick specks onto the jeans. They will not look exactly like the Abercrombie brand jeans, but they'll be your own creation, which I think is even better!

Q: after i shave my legs i can see tiny dots on my legs...like where my hair follicles(sp) were...is their a way to fix this?

You can try "Nair" or "Veet" that claim to "dissolve hair under the surface!" I have tried Veet, and I remember it working alright, but what I remember more is the awful smell that stunk up the entire bathroom.

Q: Well I'm a total "Christ Lover" and I really want my friends to be too. My friends get so annoyed when I talk about Jesus. But I really care about them, and they won't even try to go to church. My church is an awesome church for teenagers, so it's not one of the boring ones for old people. But anyways, how do I get my friends to love Jesus as much as I do. Even when they wont try.

Okay, I admire your passion and your spirit for the topic, I really do. I think it's great that you feel so strongly for a cause. However, I am Jewish (yet I don't go to synagogue at all) so you could consider me to be not a very religious person. Honestly, if you came to me more than once pushing your beliefs on me, I would get very frustrated and annoyed. If you come to me once, and I tell you that church isn't really my thing, I would expect you to respect that about me, just as your friends respect your beliefs. What if someone came to you and said, "Join my Wicca group! It's really cool; you need to try it!" You would say, "No thanks. That's not my thing." Hopefully, that person would understand. But, if they KEPT coming to you, pushing that on you, you wouldn't like it so much, right? I hope this makes sense and you understand that it's awesome you have your religion! But, be very careful trying to spread that religion to other strong-minded people.

Q: I got fitted at Nordstroms today (bras on sale!) and I found out I am a 30DD (but they didn't have any there in that size) or a 32D (but it doesn't fit as well as the 30DD). I got 2 32D's, but I'm trying to find more.

Now we all know it's impossible to find 30's. Especially 30DD's. And its also impossible to find 32's bigger than B's. (I wear 32C's now and I only have 3 bras because theyre so hard to find).

I only went to Nordstrom because of the sale... but where can I look to find bras for my odd size that aren't insanely expensive (I am willing to pay a little more if I can find my size)?

I would suggest a "tankini" style that covers your stomach more than a regular top, but it flaunts your bust and shoulders.

Q: by the way, im 13 years old. i asked my mom why kids like me cant have debit cards. shes like, "you have to work to get one". i understand that credit cards are loans, so you'd need to work to pay them off, and if a kid has it, its cause a parent pays for it. at least.. i think that could happen, right? anyways, debit cards you put your own money into it. i have about 200 dollars in my bank account, and im like, why cant i have a debit card instead of carrying all the money around? and my mom said to ask the people at my bank which is annoying cause i barely get chances to go there, so i need money a lot when i already have it, but i cant use it till we go to the bank. so it makes no sense.. my mom says you have to be working to have a debit card but that makes no sense cause like kids can even have more money than some adults with debit cards who work at like flippen mcdonalds! ugggh why? is it cause we're not responsible or something and would lose it? adults can lose cards too. and yeah.. this makes no sense to me. explain please.

I have a debit card through a credit union (I'm 16), but I had to go in to the location with my mom because they said they typically don't let anyone under 18 get one. But, since my mom allowed it, then I could get one. Also, my parents' account had to be my "back up" account. Meaning that if I started spending more money than I had, the bank would start taking that money out of their account. I hope this makes sense; if you have any more questions, let me know.

Q: im 16 and have never touched seafood.. mainly because were not sure if im allergic my mom is allergic and so is my grandpa.. but my dad isnt and he lovessss it. well yeah ive never tried it because im afraid of the consequences but also when i was little it didnt look appealing to me to eat.. now that im 16 it loooks sooo good and my mouth waters watching everyone around me eating it. I really want to try it.. My mom called the doctor and they said the only way to find out if im allergic is to try it and wait to see any results. Is that really the only way to find out? what if i am allergic and i eat it>???

You can get an allergy test to see if you are allergic to specific foods but not seafood as a whole. What they do is give you tiny samples of different foods onto your back (or arm I've heard) and you are allergic to a substance if your skin gets irritated in that area. If you do decide to try it, and you react, it can be a very scary thing. Benodryl always helps me when I am getting a slight reaction (I am allergic to tree nuts), but an epipen is what you really need. You inject it into your thigh, and it saves lives. I'm not going to tell you not to try it because that is your decision, but I'll tell you my experience. When I ate a pecan for the first time, the reaction was only minimal, and it allowed me knowledge that I probably would not have obtained otherwise. There was only a small pecan in the cookie, but if I had eaten a whole pecan not knowing, it could have been bad.

I go to a gym, and a lot of times when i go there are some cute guys from school that like to play basketball on the basketball court. I really like one of them and I just want to look kinda good whenever i go to workout. Does anyone have any tips on how to still look cute/good when you're going to a gym or to exercise? Sry i know this is weird lol...

Girl, you can look damn good when you work out! Check out Academy or Sports Authority, and pretty much everything they have looks cute. The Nike tops with built in support are really good, and you can pair those with some athletic shorts that aren't too long and aren't too short. If you sweat a lot, first put on a nice scented deoderant, and then put powder on those areas. If you tend to sweat on your chest as well, you put powder there too! For your hair, if it's long enough, messy buns look cute and stay in pretty well if you're playing basketball.

Well, they don't use alliteration like the ones you mentioned, but I must say that "Propaganda Amanda" or "Amanda Propaganda" sound pretty nifty. Sorry if those are really lame.

Q: I was on the Adidas website, looking at the slides. I love the style of these slides:

But I hate the spikes. I love the way the strap is designed, but the spikes hurt a lot. Is there anywhere I could get an Adidas slide with that style strap without spikes? If not, could I get the spikes cut?

That's somewhat of an Adidas "trademark" so I don't think you can buy shoes in that style without the "spikes." However, if you find them too uncomfortable to walk around in, you can try taking sand paper to the top of them and wear down the "spike". I wouldn't suggest cutting off the spikes, but rather wearing them down to make them less sharp.
