I have a 27'' waist and I'm hoping to get down to a 25'' within about a month.

I've never really taken any notice to my measurements so I'm not sure if 2 inches within a month is realistic or not?

its realistic, but its not healthy. i suggest aiming for 26'' instead.

Back fat. Haha, that sounds so gross.

Anyway, I do have quite a bit of fat on my lower back, coming around to my higher hips so I have pretty big love handles and I look quite out of proportion.

I'm wondering if I can get rid of the fat with just cardio? I know cardio is what burns fat, which is why I'm asking, but with it being on my back would I need to do any other excersizes?

This is some heavy stuff. So get ready:

I am 16 now. When I was 14 I asked this girl out that I had liked a lot for a long time, and got a no. Soon after, I was curious and looked up gay porn on limewire. Eventually, it became an obsession. In my mind, I am not gay. I loved this girl and have loved others, and could NEVER have the same feeling with a guy. However, guys are my sexual preference. At this age, hormones are anything so that side of me is winning over. I have been on gay hookup sites and have tried hooking up with five guys, two have even came to my door. The first I closed the door on, and the second I chickened out and hid in the house before he left my front door.

I just can't stop trying to hook up, even though I know I'm going to chicken out. I just want to be happy and I feel the sexual frustrations need to be relieved, but I can't allow myself too.

I know that I am not gay because I don't have "true love feelings" for men. So, you can see how this has been tearing me up inside. This is the first time I have ever told anyone, so I am sorry how long this has gotten.

Basically, please answer:
1) Am I gay? (I say I'm not...but maybe im wrong?)
2) Is it normal to have this sexual preference but not the sexual orientation?
3) How can I possibly get over this?







1) i wouldnt be able to answer that question for you..only you can answer it. but to me, it sounds as if your just going through a phase. experimenting during high school is very common, especially with the opposite sex.
2) yes, it is completely normal.
3) you will get over it in time, its nothing you can control yourself.

hi jenna i'm 14 and i just got my period for the first time. i'm so stupid i was too scared to tell my mom so i just used the pads she gave me to bring to camp in case i got it there but now my period has come and gone and i feel like an idiot because i couldn't get up the nerve to tell her. any advice?? :\

ive had my period for over 2 years now, and it is no big deal to a mom. in fact, she'll be overjoyed when she hears the news.
if she gave you pads knowing you would get your period soon, and you used them already, she'll notice they are gone. she probably already knows.

well, if you think you're in love with him, and hes in love with you, talk to him about it.
see if he's ready. if you think you're ready, and he is ready, and you are safe, then you will be ready.
but it also depends on how old you are. if you are not over 17, then you should not be having sex at your age.

okay, i started my period last month in august on the 23. and yesterday on the 18th of september, i thought i was starting my period but it was like 5 days early. its like brownish and sticky. kinda gross to read i know but i wanna know. so i wore a pad to school today and its just like a normal period but just a wierd color and early. whats going on? is this supposed to happen?

Dont worry !! Its perfectly normal. Every girl gets that once in a while. And sadly, it stains. There is nothing going on, and yes, it is "supposed" to happen.

No, thats not pretty sad. Us girls get it at different times. I know someone who got it at age 8, and someone who got it around age 16. If you are that worried that you will get it in school, always put a pad in your underwear. Any type of pad, light or heavy.

my best friend's ex just told her that he likes me. they broke up in june. i kind of like him, but when i asked her what she thought she backed off of the subject. she said he is going to ask me to homecoming...should i go with him?

If you're friend backed off of the subject, she obviously is still deeply hurt by breaking up with him, and still has feelings for him.
I think that you should go to homecoming with him, but just "as friends". Tell your best friend that, as well. If she understands that you guys are not going out on an actual date, she will be more comfortable about it.
And believe me, friendship with your best friend is more important than some guy that you "kind of like".

I am a Wiccan and so is my boyfriend. I told my mom he was (but not me) now she won't let me see him. My mom's a very conservative Christian who is very judgmental andtakes everything personaly. Should I tell her I'm a Wiccan, my boyfriend says I should..because even though we can sneek and talk we can't sneek and see each other and I'm only 16 so I still have 2 years before I can move out.

PS- I'm worried that if I tell her she will have me on complete lock down

I think that you should tell her.
That is totally NOT right of your mother to do - not to let you see someone just because of their beliefs. Horrible.
Im not saying that your mom is a mean person. I bet that she is very nice, and that is why you are seeking for help. You dont want to hurt her.
It might take a while, but yes, i totally think you should tell her. She might give you a few talks about hoping to change your religion, but try to show her what the Wiccan Religion TRULY means, and not what everyone thinks it does.

I'm getting a hair straightening iron for 20 bucks. It's a ceramic ConAir with gold colored plates. Will it work as good as an expensive one, like a CHI?

Yes, it will. Ceramic straighteners are great! Buy biosilk for your hair, and spray it in both before AND after you straighten your hair. It will give you the same shine and softness as a salon straightener.

i brush my retainer every day. it still ends up smelling like crap somehow.. my mom called my ortho, and they said to use the stuff that you put dentures in.. i did that, and it still smells bad! does anyone know something good that will get the nasty smell away from my retainer?

I have the same problem! Get ACT mouthwash - either bubblegum or mint flavoured. Take a tiny container that your retainers can easily fit into, and pour the ACT into the container so that it is about halfway full. When you take your retainers out (i take mine out in the morning, i wear them at night) put them in the container. It will taste good AND smell good!
If the taste is too strong, wash them off under hot water for about 5 seconds before putting them in your mouth-it will get rid of the strong taste. change the ACT in the container every 1-2 days.

i dont know if there is something wrong with me, but i'm 15/f and everday when i get home from school (i'm usually alone for about and hour) i completely pig out on tons of junk food. ie. those little debbie desserts, chips, licorice, etc. the rest of the time i eat normal stuff. i really like salad, and other healthy foods,but i cant stop this binging when i get home. i dont like throw it up or anything. but i have been getting really insecure about how i look. i m not fat, i am 5'6" and 107 lbs. but i don't know what is wrong with me. i am afraid i might get an eating disorder help!!

I dont this there is anything wrong with you. I do the same thing you do everyday when i get home from school . . . eat any junk food in the house. Im 5'2 and 99 pounds, so there is nothing wrong at all! It is just unhealthy and you should start thinking about eating healthier things, such as veggies. Yes, I know, junk -> veggies is a big step that you probably dont want to take. But it will make you less self-concience about yourself. If you cant see yourself eating veggies anytime soon, and dont want to take a switch, eat something lighter in the meantime, and gradually make your way up the healthy-food scale.

There's this kid, who like alwayz stares at me. People say that he likes me, and my best friend thinks he does too. He is like the shy type so he doesn't do anything. Last year I had a crush on him, and everybody told him, and than faded away and stoped. Now this year, he might like me, but i am not sure. What should I do? Btw, I catch him looking at me somtiemes during class. Does that mean he likes me?

That may or may not mean that he likes you. Most likely it means he does. If you think he likes you, ask him. A simple 'do you like me?' will get you the answer you may or may not want to hear.
Or, if you like him as well, ask him OUT.
