wierd eater

i dont know if there is something wrong with me, but i'm 15/f and everday when i get home from school (i'm usually alone for about and hour) i completely pig out on tons of junk food. ie. those little debbie desserts, chips, licorice, etc. the rest of the time i eat normal stuff. i really like salad, and other healthy foods,but i cant stop this binging when i get home. i dont like throw it up or anything. but i have been getting really insecure about how i look. i m not fat, i am 5'6" and 107 lbs. but i don't know what is wrong with me. i am afraid i might get an eating disorder help!!

I dont this there is anything wrong with you. I do the same thing you do everyday when i get home from school . . . eat any junk food in the house. Im 5'2 and 99 pounds, so there is nothing wrong at all! It is just unhealthy and you should start thinking about eating healthier things, such as veggies. Yes, I know, junk -> veggies is a big step that you probably dont want to take. But it will make you less self-concience about yourself. If you cant see yourself eating veggies anytime soon, and dont want to take a switch, eat something lighter in the meantime, and gradually make your way up the healthy-food scale.

When i get home i am alone too. And I want to pig out too. So sometimes the night before or that morning i will make something like a salad or something healthy. So when I get home I can just get it out and try to ignore the junk food. Because i NEVER want to make anything. So I always have something to eat instead of junk food. :)

haha thats normal i eat like that too, jus try and stop doing it because if ure not getitn exercise and stuff then it will add up fast, but yah nothing is tottaly wrong with that and i dont think you have any kind of disorder!

I bet I know what the problem is. Sometimes whe you're at school you tend to get tired. I get that sometimes. So when you get home, you tend to eat alot of sweets to get your energy back up. If that's the case, get into the habit of eating healthier foods when you get home, or drink a glass of water and just lay down and relax.

You don't have an eating disorder. Is the food at school not very nice or very healthy? Or do you not eat very much when you are there? It is most likely that, like everyone else, you get a sugar and carbohydrate craving and you get it when you come back from school because the food is available that all. Also people tend to crave these foods during, and just before their periods. If you are worried then ask your Mum not to buy certain things so when you come back from school you can have some chips etc but not anything else. Or if you think you're going to pig out when you get back from school then try and drink water and eat loads of fruit before you get home as that will fill you up.

First of all that is completely normal. When you get hoem from school your tired and hungry right. All you doing is satisfying your hunger. I ususaly eata ton wen i get home... and i am not fat. If you eat healthy later or when yo uget home yo ushould get fat. i mean 5'6 107 lbs is underweight so your fine.

Haha, you sound just like me. I do the EXACT same thing every day. What I try to do if I can is plan out what I'm gonna' eat when I get home. I try to pick out something healthy AND tasty. I really like putting hummus on pita bread. Or if you want something sweet, get some chocolatey Balance Bars (They're healthy but really good!!! I promise!!!)

Wow, you're definately not fat, but you really should try to control how much fat you eat. It's so normal for teenagers (*esp. girls) to pig out on junk food..try to eat smthn healthy instead. Or just like eat a couple chips or smthn and then brush your teeth so the taste is outta your mouth and you don't want more! Thats what I do and it works really good. You mite eat a lot of junk bc you're bored..so try to occupy yourself w.homework, talking in the phone, or cleaning, maybe watching TV...but like, I kno I watch TV when i'm bored and end up eating too..so maybe thats not a good idea. You won't get an eating disorder if you remind yourself how dangerous they are and that you aren't fat!! Just try to control how much junk you eat and exercise, I work out @ curves..everyone thinks its like an old fat lady place...but teenagers and not fat people also go there...I mean the majority of people are older and kinda big, but its a really good workout bc its aerobic and you burn lots of calories!

I know how that feels! I eat healthy food...but I eat tons of junk when I get home! For me, it's just because I'm SO hungry and one little snack won't fill me up. So I have to eat a lot. It's probably the same for you. Go to the grocery store and buy some celery and peanutbutter. It tastes so good! *And it's healthy!* So when you get home from school..you can just munch on the celery and peanutbutter snack, instead of plain junk. You're right, you're not fat. Don't be so worried about how you look! Just have fun..and don't worry about what people think. And you shouldn't be worrying anyway, you're VERY skinny. If you think this is going to get serious, I suggest you go see you're doctor and get his/her opinion. Good luck :)

Sounds like someone has a wicked sweet tooth. I do the same thing as you. You're very thin and you won't end up with an eating disorder. But keep in mind, eventually your motabolism will slow down and you might start gaining extra pounds. It happens to the best of us. How could you be insecure about how you look? You're a perfect height and a pretty good weight. When you get home, just put the junkfood away. Buy fruits and veggies and snack on that. Tell your parents to hide the junk food. Hope this helped.
