Well I don't like reading either-but I'm really into those anonymous diaries. Usually they are edited by Beatrice Sparks. My favorite book of this kind is "Go Ask Alice". It's an amazing book that, I think, everyone should read. It's about a girl in highschool who tries drugs. She spills out her heart in this diary about everything she goes through and it pulls you into the book. I highly recommend "Go Ask Alice". There are also other anonymous diaries edited by Beatrice Sparks, such as "Annie's Baby" or "It Happenned to Nancy".
Another good author is Lois Duncan. This author writes mysteries that are very interesting. Some of her books are "Killing Mr. Griffin" and "Summer of Fear". They are both good books and are pretty easy to read.
Overall, my favorite is Go Ask Alice. I hope you check it out..I'm sure you'll love it =)

i'm 13(male). my brother is 10(male).
i've shared a room with him since the day he was born. when i was 7 or 8, we switched to bunk-beds. the ladder up to the top is prety much the only place of privacy i have, other than the bathroom. my family isn't the richest in the world, but we're in a pretty good financial situation compared to others (my mom is a college professer, my dad is a newswriter). my question is, am i selfish for asking for my own room. we've been searching for about a year give or take, and have been outbid in 3 situations so far. currently we're in the midst of bidding.
sometimes i do feel selfish, because my parents are slightly older, and i feel that i'm taking away too much of their retirement funds. (this isn't exactly all for me, the neighborhood we're in now is pretty bad for them, for ex: my view from my room is at my neighbors dark green pool, 10 feet away, and theirs noise pollution from the other side from a stupid bird, which drives my parents nuts.) so am i asking for too much?
No--you are not being selfish. You are 13 and it's time for some privacy. It's not easy sharing a room with your sibling(s). Have a talk with your parents, I'm sure they will agree with you. Tell them you need privacy and you've waited a long time for your own room. I'm sure they will understand your situation. Good luck with that =)

My best friend always copies my looks! Like if i tell her ive found a certain store that i like to go to, she'll just one day start shopping there and tell all our other friends she found it first! And its not just like materials..she said that she liked matt -our crush- way before i did. But when i told her i liked him last year she said oh i think hes kind of ugly. I mean is she really my friend?? shes so annoying ..what do i do? plz help!!
She might be jealous of you? Or she's trying to annoy you. Either way--you're going to have to talk to her eventually. Tell her it bothers you a lot, and you would feel better if she stopped dressing and acting just like you. Don't tell her who you like anymore, but for the Matt thing..just don't worry. Two people can like the same person. If you want to, you can ask him out, so then your "friend" won't really like him anymore. But make sure you're asking him out because you like him and not because you want revenge (even though that could be part of it). That might be a little confusing, sorry, but I hope it helped you! ok so on my coloumn is an asnwer that my firend wrote and its not true but every1 has been asking me about it so i want to delete it. How can i do that? I tried editing my answer but it isnt editing it on my column, does anyone no wat to do?
Go to "Edit Answers" again and delete all the text from the answer you want gone. Then click "Edit Answer" at the bottom. Go to your column, and see if it's gone. If it is still there, click "Refresh" on your browser. That should do it--but if it doesn't--contact Admin. Her advice column is Advicenator_Admin. Good luck with that =)

I know that this might sound stupid but, today my mom was just telling me stuff that I don't know about my family, and she told me my sister got pregnant at the age of 21 (shes 28 now) and got an abortion, because she got pregnant not from being raped or anything, just with her boyfriends baby n stuff. I've been brought up to believe women have equal rights, and I have believed in abortions up until now. Knowing that I could've had a nephew//niece, and I don't because my sister got an abortion is really weird. I'm only 14, and I know I'm going to get a bunch of life altering situations, as this one. But, if my sister asks me one day if I believe in abortions, should I tell the truth, and say, no. or yes? Thanks.
Tell the truth--it's the best way to go. It's your sister, I mean..is she really going to get mad at you for speaking your opinion? She made her decision to have an abortion, and you don't agree with it. That's perfectly FINE. So if she asks, tell her =)

Last year i went to this valentines day dance. my best friend had a girlfriend and i didnt and i felt like a "tag-along". he has so many girls that like him and i think it might happen again this year. i was thinking that i might try to ask someone too but i dont really like anyone so i dont have anyone to ask. I was just going to find someone that i liked a little bit and ask her but im not sure. Should i ask somebody or should i go alone like last year? What should i do? Please help.
Well, if you find someone you like, then go for it! But don't just ask someone if you don't like them. If you end up not liking anyone by the Valentine's Day Dance, then just go and hangout. You don't necessarily have to tag-along with your best friend the whole night, you can just go and hang out with everyone. Hope you find someone =)

I have a huge problem..im only 13 and weigh 98 pounds but i love to eat!! When i get home from school i eat like a bag of popcorn, some chips, and a salad just to make myself feel better. I excercise but not like a TON. and im healthy ..so whats wrong? I eat breakfast, then a snack, lunch, then a snack and dinner, then dessert. But, when im bored or sad - i eat. even if im not hungry..how do i stop this eating problem ?? =/
It's just your body. Everyone is different and everyone grows at different rates. Just continue to eat healthy and don't worry about it--you'll grow soon =)

when i was looking at the list of moderators, i saw that in the far right column.it sed "Average Rank" what does that mean?
"Average Rank" is the person's average rating number. Like, when you rate questions, you rate it a 1, 2, or 3. The number in that column is the average of all the questions you've rated in the past 3 days. Sorry if that's a little confusing =)

when the slop of a line is 12/0 (12 over 0) is is 0 or undefined? when the zeros on the top is it 0 or undefined?
When the 0 is on the bottom the slope is undefined. When the 0 is on the top the slope is 0. I always remember this because when you look at the fraction (for example: 0/13), you say the 0 first, so the slope is 0. Over the weekend me and my friend got in a fight with a permanet marker, she accidently got some on my light pair of jeans and it won't come out. I washed them and put SHOUT stain remover on them twice but it still won't come out. Do any of you have any suggestions? My jeans are really light, so I dont wanna to ruin there color or anything, and if I bleach them, then I'll lose the color in that spot. Please help.
Since it's a permanent marker, I'm not sure if it will come out right away, but eventually it should wear off. My family uses "Carbona: Stain Wizard". You put it on the pants right before you put it in the wash and it works really well. You can try it and see how it works..♥

When I do crunches or ab workouts, my abs shake really bad.
When I just bend up for a crunch, it shakes horribly and I don't know why. Maybe my muscles are weak? Thanks in advance!
If you just started working out, your muscles may not be used to what you're doing. After awhile they'll probably be okay. I'm pretty sure they are fine, but if you really think it's bad, ask your doctor =)

I'm about to buy a new straightener and I wanna make sure I get a good one this time.. I need some advice on what kind of straightener to get (cereamic, glass, gold, etc). I want one that will NOT ONLY straighten my hair really well, but also make it STAY straight all day. What do u all recommend? (something cheap, not over $30) Thanks!! i'll rate HIGH!!
There have been many straightener questions that I've answered--so here's what I answered to somebody else. I'm pretty sure it answers all your questions, so here-->
"Hot Tools-Professional" is the greatest! I use it every day. And DON'T get the ceramic ones! They aren't good and don't work well..even though people say they do. There's just a regular hot iron with gold-colored plates. I get mine at Sally's Beauty Supply, but you can only go in there if you have a professional hair dresser with you. You could probably find them at like Target or Walmart (department stores), I guess? At Sally's I think they cost about $25 to $40, I'm not really sure. Sometimes you can find them on sale for $19.99! But believe me, they are REALLY worth your money!! Good luck ♥

I already have both ears pierced but i'd like to
get the part above the lobe pierced, I think it's called the cartilage, just one ear one time. I'll probably get it done at Claire's or something, but I have a couple of questions first: how much does it hurt (like worse than lobes)? Is it more expensive? If any of you have had it done, your experience would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Cartilidge is at the top part of your ear (like the corner). I got mine pierced almost 7 months ago. It hurts more than a regular earlobe piercing, but that's just because it's in the cartilidge part. When I got mine done, it only hurt the second they did it. Then I walked around and it felt fine. The only thing is--it hurts when you are sleeping because you are putting your weight on the top of your ear. So I suggest getting the ear pierced that you don't sleep on. It will hurt less. Also, I would recommend not getting it at Claires. They aren't that great. Try to look around in your mall or a tattoo/piercing place around you. As for the prices: I got mine done at a place where you just pay for the earring and they'll pierce it for you. But it's different at all places and it depends on what kind of earring you get. Mine was $30 and it was just a gold post with a sapphire stone in it. They really aren't that expensive. Good luck ♥

There's this kid in one of my classes who's obsessed with me. I have never talked to him before this all happenened. He got my screen name from one of my friends, and he's always talking to me. He says he likes me alot, and the truth is, I dont know him and I don't like him. I just want him to leave me alone. Everytime he comes on, I put an away message up, but he still talks to me! He's like, tell me when you get back. What am I supposed to say to him?? I just want him to leave me alone, he's starting to creep me out!
Ignore him and (hopefully) he'll eventually stop talking to you. If he does stuff to you or annoys you in class--talk to your teacher about it. Make a new screenname and go on that to talk to your friends. Tell them not to tell ANYONE your screenname. Another option is to block him. This may work for a little while. But sometime he might realize that you blocked him. He can make a new screenname and then start talking to you again. So therefore, the new screenname idea would probably be better.

I have mad wavy hair and its really poofy sometimes not to mention frizzy. My birthday is coming up in a few days and i was thinking of getting it straightened because it would probably look better. What is everyones opinion on this because some people told me that it drys out your hair and makes it fall out? Is that true?
It does ruin your hair, but not if you do it one time! Not even if you do it a bunch of times! I straighten my hair EVERY single day--and it's just fine. If you hold it on the hair too long--yes--it will burn. But are you going to be that stupid to hold a hot straightener on your hair for 5 minutes? I don't think so. Your hair will not fall out unless you hold it on too long, a few strands may come out. Don't worry--your hair will be just fine as long as you do it correctly. Good luck + happy birthday ♥

Your not really supposed to ask homework questions on here but I can see you really need help. Sorry I don't have a lot for you but I can help you on #9 for algebra. All you do is make "y" equal to 0 (y=0). So that makes it 0=2x-7. Add 7 to both sides which now makes it 7=2x. Divide each side by 2 and your x-intercept is 7/2. I hope you do good on your finals. Remember to study hard and get a good sleep the night before! ♥

I always wished I was fatter I'm so skinny and all my friends can wear tight jeans and juniors clothes and I'm stuck in 10/12 in pants and 14/16 in shirts. The 10/12's are even baggy, I can't fit in 8/9 because they are to short. How can I gain weight? I know I have to eat but is there any other ways?
Don't eat too much, just continue eating normal and healthy. But if you start exercising more, you can build muscle. That will help you gain more weight because muscle will make you heavier. Besides that--all you can do is wait. If nothing happens, I suggest you see your doctor ♥

My parents are also divorced. I know it's hard--but I think you should just let it go. There's nothing you can do to help them. Sometimes parents are just better off separated. Sorry Sweetie ♥
