When I do crunches or ab workouts, my abs shake really bad.
When I just bend up for a crunch, it shakes horribly and I don't know why. Maybe my muscles are weak? Thanks in advance!

When stretching, or doing crunches, or really anything physical, you NEED to make sure you're breathing enough.
You stop breathing as much as you do normally when you're concentrating on working out.
If your muscles get less oxygen when you're using them more, you shake.
Your abs (or whatever part of your body you stretch or work out) will continue to shake unless you remember to take deep, easy breaths while doing your excercises.
If the shaking is painful:
Slow it down. Remember that working out those abs isn't going happen in one week. You'll feel better if you push yourself, just don't over do it. [ ItsOnlyMe's advice column | Ask ItsOnlyMe A Question ]
xparkerx009 answered Friday January 14 2005, 10:22 am: Its normal..dont worry. i think its because when you sit up for the crunch your body is now supporting your weight by only that muscle in your stomach..so it starts shaking because its holding up so much pressure and trying to keep your body up. Karen answered Thursday January 13 2005, 8:28 pm: Did you just start doing abdominal exercises? If so, your abdominal muscles are just not used to the work out and they are weak. Just keep on doing the exercises and you'll get used to it. Hope I helped :)

Sherry answered Thursday January 13 2005, 6:29 pm: Thats what happens to me too. it's just because your first starting out, and your muscles are like "What the heck is she doing?" (haha) But sooner or later they'll get used to it! Just keep on doing them everyday and go slow if you have to! Good luck!! [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]

I'm pretty sure they are fine, but if you really think it's bad, ask your doctor =) [ aNgeLxfOrEvEr's advice column | Ask aNgeLxfOrEvEr A Question ]
