S_C answered Monday January 24 2005, 5:15 pm:
I didn't read through all the responses already given, but you were given a few that I like. And to add on, I have some true books, such as She said yes (I'm sorry I don't know the author) it's about the columbine shooting. It's great if you belive on God. It's not a religious book, it's just a mother telling the story of how her daughter was shot at school. This girl was a good girl gone bad, she had just turned good again, there was a shooting at her school, the guy with the gun asked her if she believed in God, she said yes, and she was shot and killed. It's an AMAZING and sad book. Also another true book (actually a series) well the 1st book in the series is A Child Called it by Dave (I forgot the last name) it's a sort of autobigraphy about a boy who was abused as a child and grows up. There are like 3 or 4 books in the series. And now for the fiction books. There's a 'shadow child' series. The first book is called Among the Hidden, and it's by Margarter Peterson Haddix, I personally like all of her books, but especially the 'shadow child' series. Then another nonfiction book series are the Chicken soup for the sould books, those are really good!!!! Hope I've helped some. I love all the books I've listed, and there were a few like Harry Potter and A series of Unfortunate events that I liked but they were already listed. Good luck in finding a book you like!

aNgeLxfOrEvEr answered Monday January 24 2005, 3:18 pm:
Well I don't like reading either-but I'm really into those anonymous diaries. Usually they are edited by Beatrice Sparks. My favorite book of this kind is "Go Ask Alice". It's an amazing book that, I think, everyone should read. It's about a girl in highschool who tries drugs. She spills out her heart in this diary about everything she goes through and it pulls you into the book. I highly recommend "Go Ask Alice". There are also other anonymous diaries edited by Beatrice Sparks, such as "Annie's Baby" or "It Happenned to Nancy".

Another good author is Lois Duncan. This author writes mysteries that are very interesting. Some of her books are "Killing Mr. Griffin" and "Summer of Fear". They are both good books and are pretty easy to read.

Overall, my favorite is Go Ask Alice. I hope you check it out..I'm sure you'll love it =)

Ok, I have a lot of good book suggestions that I enjoyed reading

-The Georgia Nicholson series(Absolutely hilarious)
-Teen Idol[By Meg Cabot](Many plot twists, very interesting)
-The truth about forever[By Sarah Dessen](While a pretty long book, very captivating and a very sweet story)

Those are the books I found the MOST interesting and the best. I hope you enjoy reading them if you choose to.

The Harry Potter and Series of Unfortunate Events series are pretty good. So are the Lord of the Rings series. If you want a book and not a series try The First Five People You Meet in Heaven. That's one of my favorites. 1984 is also an amazing book. If you need anymore suggestions leave one in my inbox because I've read a lot of books. I hope I helped! ♥ good luck

BeautifulMadness answered Monday January 24 2005, 2:59 pm:
Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman...sooo good...really amazing book, everyone I know (even the people who hate reading) love it. It's like a novel but from two different people's point of views and it's funny, sad, and really, really brilliant written.
I personally loved I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith although I know a lot of people found it weird...Bridget Jones' Diary (the book) by Helen Fielding is hilarious and really easy to read. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot are OK if you want something light hearted and American-teen-ish, although once you get past about book 3 they get repetitive. Speak by Laurie ------- (sorry, I'm not sure on their last name) is a really good book, short and really moving and quite funny in places.
Goodnight Mr Tom by Michelle Magorian is really sweet, and I really loved Witch Child by Celia Rees, although some people might find it a bit odd.
Go into your school library or local library and check out the teen section...there are loads of random funny books in there that don't take much thinking about, such as Guitar Girl and the French Kiss Diaries...the Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison are also really great!!
Good luck and I hope I suggested something you'll like!!
Blessed Be,
Rach xxx

It'd really help if we knew your age or some of your interestd. Well, assuming your a teenager and a girl (lol cuz a moajority of the questiodn asked are from girls) I would suggest the Princess Diaries series. They aren't really long or hard to read. Or steven King alwayssss keeps you wanting more. Plus his books are really scary. If you really hate reading so much then maybe you don't want to dive right into novels. Read Seventenn or YM or a magazine that might help you like reading more.

Well lately I've been reading the Anita Blake Vampire series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Very good books, but more for advanced readers. They're about a woman Animator, who raises the dead for investigations and deals with vampires and vampire killings. They've also got a very sexual, sensual side to them. My favorite book in the entire world is The Silver Kiss, by Anne Rice.. another romance/vampire book.. and I recently bought a book by her son, Christopher Rice called The Snow Garden. Very good books, I only suggest the best. Definately check into them.

MyPainIsReal answered Monday January 24 2005, 1:07 pm:
How old are you? I personally think the Harry Potter series are books for all ages. They aren't boring or anything. If you're into scary books try some Stephen King such as Black House. Those are good books too. Or if you are religous try reading the Left Behind series. They are good books for the religious type. If you just want something simple because you're mom wants you to read, read something like Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys. Even adults read those even though they are easy to read. A book I highly reccomend is Roll of Thuder Hear My cry and the second book May the Circle Be Unbroken. Those books are about the challenges blacks faced. Hope I gave you some good ideas for reading.

"Confessions of a Shopoholic" Series. It's funny, and an easy read. I made my sister that hates reading try one, and she loved them.

And it might sound cliche, but I highly recommend "Harry Potter." My little cousins to my friends in college, to my grandmother, all loved the series. It is one of my favorites.

AKSherma answered Monday January 24 2005, 1:02 pm:
If anything will do, and if you tell me what you'd like to read about but I love the Chuck Palahnuk (sp?) books- you know the guy who brought you "Fight Club". I've read a lot of his book and its a great mix of entertainment, perversion, psychological thinker etc. You may enjoy that, and if your mom wants you to read more "classics" look into some of the cool classics:

1. 1984- Orwell.
2. Brave New World- Huxley.
3. Clockwork Orange- Burroughs
4. Man in the High Castle- Philip K. Dick.
5. Tropic of Cancer- Miller.

A lot of bookstores have a table called "Banned books" which means that they were too "hot" back when they first came down. Often, they're entertaining reads.

Good luck,
AK
