Straighten hair

Question Posted Tuesday January 11 2005, 8:26 pm

I have mad wavy hair and its really poofy sometimes not to mention frizzy. My birthday is coming up in a few days and i was thinking of getting it straightened because it would probably look better. What is everyones opinion on this because some people told me that it drys out your hair and makes it fall out? Is that true?

My hair is very curly/frizzy/poofy. I strighten my hair everyday with an hair iron and right now it's spilt ended and dry, and yes, it falls out but not a lot. You should get a special shampoo and you blow-dry it straight, that doesn't dry it out. I recomend Paul Mitchell's Gloss Drops. You put it in after the shower and blow dry it straight. Or you can put it in after you iron you hair and it makes it a little less fizzy. If you want your hair professional done, you can get it relaxed. It costs about 40$ or so but it's worth every penny. It doesn't permitley strigten it, but if you keep it dry the 1st 24 hours, it'll be strigher than usual. (by the way, sorry I spelt "strighen" like 10 different times)

Hope I helped,
xoxo Samantha

Lol people really have problems with saying hair will fall out if you do anything to it. Anyways, it won't do anything bad to your hair. It might dry it out a little but thats about it lol. And I think straight hair looks better on people too..Hope that helps! =)

Not in most cases. However, chemically straightening your hair can be very bad for it. Try getting a really good straightener for at home use. You'll never have to go to a salon and although they are pricy, it will save you tons of cash. Buy the best kind there is. Try www.sephora.com or google it!
Apply biosilk therapy to your hair and brush it through after you get out of the shower. Then blow dry your hair with a round brush until its dry enough to straighten. I don't straighten my hair because its naturally straight but I'm pretty sure this will work. Most of my friends straighten. Please rate! ♥

It does ruin your hair, but not if you do it one time! Not even if you do it a bunch of times! I straighten my hair EVERY single day--and it's just fine. If you hold it on the hair too long--yes--it will burn. But are you going to be that stupid to hold a hot straightener on your hair for 5 minutes? I don't think so. Your hair will not fall out unless you hold it on too long, a few strands may come out. Don't worry--your hair will be just fine as long as you do it correctly. Good luck + happy birthday ♥

Okay you can get it chemicaly straighten at a salon. depending on your hair and how much you get it done depends on if its going to fall out. Or thats what i heard from people i know. You could buy a straightner and straighten your hair at home. but it gives your split ends but after a while.

No. It doesn't dry out your hair. I have really curly hair and I got a stright perm and my hair was really shiney. It doesn't dry it out or make it fall out, don't worry.

If you only straighten your hair every once in a while, your hair won't dry out and fall out. But of you straighten your hair everyday (like I do), you'll get split ends, your hair will be damaged, and hair will fall out. This used to happen to me but I use this gel that protects my hair. Hope I helped :)

no it doesnt!! mann, why people say that i will never know. i always get mi hair straigtened. but, if you do, you have to be prepared with what to do with it. its ok, your hair wont fall out any more then it does now with you trying to put a brush through your nappy hair.
