A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

okay, so tomorrow i am going to get 2 vaccines, i think cholera, and typhoid, because i am going to india in the summer. I am soo terrified of vaccines, and shots. The last time i had a shot was a looooong time ago. So do you know if cholera and typhoid vaccines hurt? Pleaseeee answer quickly because i am going tomorrow. Please help mee...i am soo scared.

Do they hurt? Have any advice on what is should do? I could bring my ipod, BUT it'd still hurt. im scared, help meee please!! :]

I don't know how big the needles are, but I can't imagine they're much larger than a tetanus shot. Tell the nurse or whoever's giving you the shot that you really hate needles- they may do two at once (one in each arm)

Remember (and keep telling yourself) that it'll hurt for just a few seconds and sore for awhile (icepacks work wonders). Plus, you'll be saving yourself from horrible diseases.

why do people care so much about same sex marrage? i think it should be legal in the U.S but why are people against it?

Marriage is between a man and a woman- and people don't want that to change.

Many [unfortumately not all] people think that marriage is about LOVE- not gender. So you should be able to marry whomever you want. Basically, gay (sorry PC police, "homosexual") couples want the same rights as married couples, etc. Personally, who cares about other people's lives? Two guys living together, ragardless of whether they have a marriage certificate or not,doesn't affect me in the slightest. As long as they aren't marrying 12 year old boys, they aren't hurting anyone.

Plastic surgery? Sheesh. Why would you want your THROAT to go under the knife for something so trivial as your adam's apple? Everyone's unique. Don't worry about it so much, and be confident, don't let people bother you about it. Think of a few [appropriate] comebacks, or some casual way of brushing it of.

Ex: "Psh, I'm more of a man than YOU'LL ever be!"

Trying to get rid of it could possibly leave you with scarring, bruising, etc. Especially if you go the surgery route. Just learn to love yourself, and you'll be golden.

how long does it take for a baked potato to bake?

Depends on the potato and how it's being baked, etc. I say about 45 minutes, but if you microwave them first for abut five minutes, it's shortened to about 20 minutes but doesn't TASTE microwaved.

Baked potatoes are hard to screw up, thankfully. Take the biggest one out (if you're cooking more than one) and poke it. If the middle is soft, it's done! If it's hard to poke with a fork, toss it back in for a few more minutes. They're also nearly impossible to overrcook. You can't go wrong!

Robert wants to have a mean of 150 for his bowling scores. He has bowled 137, 165, 142, and 139 in his first 4 games. He will bowl one more game. What is the least score that he can have in his fifth game to have a mean of 150?

This is the easiest way I know how to do it. For five games to have an average of 150, the five scores have to add up to 750 [150*5=750]

The first four games add up to 583. 750-583= 167. So, he must bowl a game with a score of 167 to have an average of 150.

There's an exact equation. I don't remember exactly what it looks like, because I do things my own way in math. But your math book should have it in there, and the way I explained it to you is exactly what the equation does too.

This horrible horrible rumor started that the guy that I've been talking to tried to make me have sex with him, and my (ex)best friend started it. I feel so terrible, because I was the one that told my friend that we were talking and she just leaked it out and it became into this whole big thing. So people probably think he is a huge freak and he's not and I really want to do something for him, but I don't know what. Any ideas? Please help.

Tell everyone that he didn't. Spread a rumor that he's a great guy and would never do something like that. Try to clear up things with your best friend so she doesn't do it again. As for what you can do for him, don't treat him any differently (I'm sure you already do that though, if you're friends and have any decency) and don't let your feelings for him change over what a jealous friend tells everyone.

And lastly, try not to let rumors get to you. They're always gonna be there, and I've heard worse.

Right-click on your desktop, and go to Properties. Under the "Settings" tab, there's a screen resolution area. you can slide the slider thing to make the resolution higher or lower. Most computers are either 1024x768 or 1280x768, by default. It depends on the monitor though.

Alright. I'm 17 and I just need to let someone know and get someone else's advice because I can't say anything to my friends. So, I met this guy a while back and I've seen him a few times. I've always thought he was cute, but he's been dating this girl for a year and a half.

Now, I know this will sound ridiculous, but at the party last weekend I talked to him all night about a lot of different things. We really bonded and he kept telling me all night that he felt we had. He's a really great guy, but he cheated on his gf with me last weekend and I'm going to see him again this weekend. I mean. I really feel bad about it all, I do, but the more I think about it .. he wouldn't have cheated on her if he didn't have doubts or didn't want something more, you know? He says he loves her, but is he in love with being in the relationship with her or is he truly in love with her because obviously he can't completely be in love with her if he cheated on her. And just to clear a few things up, he has only cheated on her one other time before me so please just give me advice and what you think I should do or what you think actually on the whole circumstance. Honestly? Don't hook up again. This guy has cheated on his steady girlfriend TWICE- and I'm assuming she's completely oblivious to this fact. You don't want to be involved with a guy who claims to love his girlfriend, but cheats on her with random girls at parties.

You're young, and deserve better than that. Forget about him; you'll be much better off.

see i used to like this guy who was one of my best friends. everytime i saw him i would get soo freaking happy and i wouldnt stop smiling. i was always excited to see him or hang out with him. well he didnt like me. this storys not about him but its needed to be told. you'll understand in a minute.
well theres this guy who likes me. i thought i liked him but i'm not sure. when i see him, i'm just like ..hi.. like theres not the major excitement i used to get when i saw my old crush. plus i'm noticing things about him that i dont like so much, the more i know him. i'm not sure if i actually like him or just like the fact that he likes me, because i'm not exactly gorgeous.

It depends on what you're noticing about him that you don't think you like. Does he have green eyes, while you're usually attracted to brown? In that case, decide how you feel about him. If you like him, and he likes you, why NOT date him? You've got nothing to lose by at least trying, right?

On the other hand, if he's like, a meth addict or something, steer clear of him.

So, if he's not a bad kid, flirt with him and see how he reacts. Ask him to a movie on Friday, go mini golfing (a personal fave), etc.

You need to be morbidly obese [BMI of 40 or greater, or 35 with a risk factor like diabetes or heart disease] and been on every conceivable diet imaginable. Diet and exercise actually are effective, if you're willing to actually put in the effort EVERY day and not kid yourself about what you're eating.

It's a risky procedure and it's permament and life-changing. Consider ALL your options before you even consider it. Also, most doctors won't do the procedure on someone younger than 18 unless their life is in mortal danger.

why are pimple red?

I always thought it was because the skin is stretched, irritated, etc. Plus, people tend to pick them, rub them, squeeze them, etc. Do that to ANY part of your body long enough and it'll turn a nice red hue.

Visine gets the red out of pimples, as well as eyes- really! Try it sometime.

I have a great mom. She has her ups and her downs but she always bends over backwards for me. I love her a lot, but she thinks I'm not as appreciative as I should be. So...since mother's day is coming up I really want to suprise her with something really nice. I don't want just a present for her, I want something that she will remember forever. I already am getting her a present anyways. What should I do for her?? I live in a really small town so I can't take her to a really nice restraunt or take her to a play or something. It has to be kind of like a homeade present suprise. I'm thinking maybe a dinner. And a day off from everything. What do you think I should do?? P.S. I only have about sixty dollars. I have more, but I can't get to it right this moment so I'm stuck with sixty. Any ideas would be really great!!!

Do all the housework for her- for a week. Give her a well-deserved vacation from everything she's stuck doing. Cook all the meals- or at least SOME of them. Surely you can make her coffee and pour cereal, right? haha.

Being a good kid and saying "thanks Mom, I love you!" goes a lot farther than you might think. Moms like to be appreciated. I know this because I just asked my mom what SHE wanted yesterday. Talk to her, ask her what she needs. Or has she been hinting at something? "Gosh, we could really use more tulips in the garden out front!" (Buy her some bulbs for next year) "Oh, I'm almost out of perfume again!" (Buy her a nice perfume that YOU like, too- so you can use it!)

Plus, what woman doesn't like to be pampered? Do her hair and makeup one day, she'll love having the day off!

this weekend i was with my brother and some of his friends and we were all driving around in my new car a 2007 escalade. I was driving adn it was raining and late at night and i have only had my license for about 3 months. we were coming around the corner and hit another car totaling mine and theirs. right away my brother took the blame for it and told me not to worry about it since he has been driving for a few eyars now and wouldnt get in as much trouble as i would. since the other car didnt see i was driving it worked out fine but now i feel awful that he took the blame for this but i know that if i came forward my parents would kill me. what should i do?

Tell your parents. If you don't, you're going to feel guilty about it for the rest of your life, or at least a long time. Explain that you don't want your brother getting in trouble with them, since he didn't want you to get your license suspended, and you didn't force him to do it. Insurance-wise, it WOULD be a better situation if it was your brother's name on the paperwork, or whatever. Let your parents decide what's best- they'll know more about what would be best for BOTH of you, since they've got life experience and all. The way it works out, your brother might get the blame according to the insurance company, but your conscience will be clear.

Your parents will likely be understanding, especially with the bad weather and eroad conditions. I hope everything works out with insurance & you get your car back as soon as you can!

i have been dating my boyfriend for about 2 years now and i am really in love with him. but the thing is that i got offered a modeling job in california. and i dont know what willhappen to us. he doesnt want me to go but i really want to. i dont want to give it up and i dont know if he is just tesing me or what i dont want to lose him or this oppertunity what should i do he is also going to college on the east coast next year and i will only be a junior

It depends on how long you'll be gone. Is it a permanent move? Two years is a really serious relationship, and California can't possibly be the only place you could find a job. Try looking for a modeling job in your area, at least until your boyfriend goes to college. After that, you'll have some more free time, and maybe you could travel out for a couple months then.

Think about it from his perspective. He's probably petrified that you'll go, fall in love with California, and never come back. Reassure him that it's not a permanent thing, you still love him, he'll be in college by then anyways, and that you'll come back.
