same sex
why do people care so much about same sex marrage? i think it should be legal in the U.S but why are people against it?
im writting a report about it and i just need to know what some people think.

They think it's wrong because it goes against what marriage is supposed to be. It goes against the laws of nature, and the bible. It's considered a sin to be homosexual or bisexual & people cannot accept it. The idea of marriage is a man and a women. Not two women, not two men. One man, one woman.
However, I personally disagree with what people think. I'm bi-sexual & I think that same sex marriages are amazing. Love is love, no matter the gender. I wish people could see through that.

many people think that it is wrong because it goes against the meaning of marriage, which is a bonding between a man and a woman. to some religious people it makes it unholy to change the meaning, and it takes away the sanctity of it. some people think that love is love, and that's all that should matter. it just depends on your religion, values, and grasp of the subject.

Many people believe that allowing gays to marry would be ruining the sanctity of marriage. I don't believe gays should be allowed to have a marriage license. I'm okay with the unity/binding/whatever you want to call it. I just don't think that marriage should be anything other than 1 man and 1 woman.

personally i dont care. i think they should be able to get married and adopt children. i think some people are homophobic or extremely religious and dont want to encourage the behavior. i am totally straight and a tiny bit homophobic yet i still think people should be able to live their lives. they're going to love who they want anyways, why not let them get the little piece of paper that makes it official.

There are really a lot of reasons people will go against it. I'll just give a few. 1.) Some believe it's a sin in the Bible or think it's just not morally right. 2.) It's always been marriage between man & woman & people think it should stay that way. 3.) Some people may not even be religiously against same sex marriage & have other reasons to be against it. People see it as it opening too many other doors. If we make same sex marriage legal, then what's next?You ask why people care so much? It's not that everyone who is against same sex marriage is "homophobic" or is bashing homosexuals. There are people who just want to keep marriage sacred & keep it strictly between man & woman. Everyone has a right to believe in what they want; & not everything in this world has to be accepted. No one is wrong for having their opinions & going against something.

Marriage is between a man and a woman- and people don't want that to change.
Many [unfortumately not all] people think that marriage is about LOVE- not gender. So you should be able to marry whomever you want. Basically, gay (sorry PC police, "homosexual") couples want the same rights as married couples, etc. Personally, who cares about other people's lives? Two guys living together, ragardless of whether they have a marriage certificate or not,doesn't affect me in the slightest. As long as they aren't marrying 12 year old boys, they aren't hurting anyone.
