I just read that sperm can live for 24 hours in water and it got me thinking.
Im in the swim team, and we practive twice a week in a regular sized pool. Theres a bunch of kids (including boys) and we all practive together.
I always wear a one-piece bathing suit
What are the odds that i could get pregnant from swimming? Am i at risk?
I mean im 13. I dont want a baby yet
Unless you are having sex in the pool, sperm are not going to swim around, crawl up your vagina & get your pregnant. There's nothing to worry about..

- we used a spermicidal condom, which was put on before any contact.
- he pulled out when he orgasmed.
- afterwards we checked the condom and filled it with water to see if there were any leaks. there were none.
- i didn't have sex during my most fertile time.
- i peed before and after.

Considering you used a condom effectively & it's 90-95% effective, your chances are slim. But for the record, peeing before/after doesn't affect anything.

My boyfriend cheated on me a while ago after we had been together for over a year.
It killed me to know that i had put my whole self into that relationship and he just couldn't be loyal.
We kept talking, don't ask me why, and i watched what i thought was him changing, and maturing.
So i took him back, and we've been together again now for about 2 months.
I love him with all i've got, and i want to make this work more than anything.
But i just can't trust him.
I get jealous when he's around other girls, and i get paranoid when he's out with friends, (some being girls) and i'm not there.
I don't want to be that annoying, obsessive, scary girlfriend, but i can't help it. The pattern is starting to repeat. He's acting like he did when he was cheating the first time.
I don't know if it's just me being paranoid, but i just can't find a way to trust him. No matter how much i want to. I don't know how to talk to him, because for some reason, IM scared of breaking HIS heart. And i don't know where to go from here...

You are 16 & should not put that much energy/stress into such a meaningless relationship which will go nowhere without trust. If you can't trust him, the relationship is not going to last. You might as well move on & consume your time with someone you can actually trust & don't need to be worried about. Simple as that.

I am not sure what kind of answer you are looking for. But like everything else, everyone has a different taste/preferance. Not everyone likes the same things as you.

Hey ya my parents got all pissed off because I didn't call them to tell them I was going to a football game. I didn't think it would be a big deal and they always taught me to be independent. The thing is though they like exploded when I got home in my face and took away my cell phone. What should I do. It has been taken away for like a week and I need a cell because I am very social. I need advice it doesn't have to do with my parents I just need a phone. Thanks.
If you're so social & your cell phone is such a priority, you should have made it priority by taking two minutes to tell them where you were. Yes, be independent, but not telling your parents where you are doesn't make you just that. That would be called being irresponsible.
when does Desperate Housewives start again? what season # will this be? what channel, and what are the days/times? is there any website where you can watch the first and second seasons?
You are asking the right person! Season 4 starts on September 30th. It's on ABC on Sundays @ 9/8 central. I don't think you can watch their old seasons online. But they are available to rent/buy. Season 3 doesn't come out on DVD until the second week of September.
I met this guy last weekend at a place where everyone in my town hang out. we hit it off really well and started dating a couple days later. everything was going really great but then i found out from a few friends i have in the grade above that he did ectasy oxy cotton ect. i definetley am not into drugs, i called him and told him i never wanted to see him ever again. he started crying and said i havent cried this much since my mom died of coursr i felt awful so i agreed to have him drive over to my house and we could talk i told him that i thought we rushed into going out and that i couldnt be with somebody who does drugs i want to be a dancer in high school and i cant be associated with drugs. he also told people that we were going to have sex on our one month anniversary. which made me furious because im not like that to know a guy for like 5 days and agree to that. i broke up with him and now hes threatning to kill two of my friends that told me that he did drugs. hes physco..he drives past my house twice a day and it freaks me out he says we will be together no matter what and he'll stop at nothing to get me even if he has to hurt people that we are meant to be together im really scared and i dont know what to do.
That is insane. You really need to talk to your parents & the principal, call the cops & have you & your friends put restraining orders on this guy. Even if you don't think he'll follow through with his threats, you need to atleast take the extra precautions just incase. & collect any kind of evidence you can to help prove to the cops that this guy is really making these threats.
Ive been with Verizon for a few years now. They have great service and their phones arent to bad. But they are very expensive and require you to purchase all this other crap in order to use certain parts of your phone. So, Im thinking of switching services but not quite sure who to go with. I used to work for a cell phone company so Ive done ALOT of research. And I know that service varies in different states. But I was curious as to what service everyone has, what phone they went with, and over all how satisfied you are with the phone and serivce?
I have a Nokia Slider (worth $300), sometimes often confused with the chocolate. My service is Cricket - which is a local service, but gradually expanding over the U.S. It only costs me $56 a month for unlimited text, unlimited calling (wherever, whenever), unlimited multimedia (internet, aim, msn, & pictures). I used to be with Cingular & I absolutely hated it. Those big companies always charge you more with ridiculous fees & give you limits as to when you can talk, which is stupid. The only downside to my phone is that I don't get service if I go so far out of the range - which is only some parts of the state. If I was ever traveling out of state, I'd have to add money to my "bucket."
Hi, My mom is 100% careless, she gets me whatever i want, like anything, but i asked her tonight "Can i go to victorias secret to get bras and underwears?" she was like, THATS FUC*ING INSANE! I dont even wear that?! You'll get it when i start!" and shes 46, my sister, whom is 19.. turning 20 in january, she gets it with my MOMS CREDIT CARD! its redicilous! All of my friends wear their bras, but of corse, mine are from like, target, and the rest of my clothing is from abercrombie, it doesnt make sence! HOW CAN I TELL HER I DESERVE STUFF FROM THAT STORE!? and i already have underwear from there, my mom gave me her credit card when i was on a school trip in washington DC. and i got stuff in the mall, its pissing me off!

I can understand your frustration because I was once a brat who thought everything was owed to me. The truth is - you don't deserve anything from that store unless you are paying it for yourself with your own money. Your mom works for her money & atleast gives you money to buy a bra. There are some people out there who cannot afford anything for their kids. If you are truly in need of bras & panties, you will get what your mother buys you. & if you have a problem with that, look for a job that will give you the money to let you afford that. Why do I think she won't let you go to Victoria's Secret? Although it's nice to be able to buy stuff from Victoria's Secret, you do not NEED it. & if my daughter demanded something like that from me, that's the last thing she would be getting. In the meantime, you can hate the world that you aren't able to get what you want. But when you are a mature, young adult you will learn to work for your own things & appreciate the things you ARE able to get.

My boyfriend wants to have sex, he's BEEN ready actually. And I've been together with him for about 4 months. The thing is, I want to, but yet I don't. I don't want to end up regretting it. It's kind of hard for me to explain why I don't want to do it with him too. You are 14 & you are in no way ready. To be ready, you always have to be able to take on the responsibilities & consequences that may follow. One of those consequences could be a child & no 14 year old in today's society is fit to handle the responsibility of raising a child, especially when they are a child themselves.
You are having doubts & asking other peoples opinions, which is definitely a huge sign you are not ready. You are right - you are too young & you will most likely regret it mainly because you haven't quite matured yet.
You are lucky to have a guy who will wait around for you, so tell him you aren't ready. It's better to wait until you're positive about your decision than jumping into anything & hating yourself for it later.
okay, this summer ive been having a sleeping issue. i can't get to sleep untill about hm 5 30 / 6. and then i sleep through the whole day. sleeping pills from over the counter do not help me. at all. even with them i can fall asleep till like .. 3 which isnt really any better. really my main issue is school starts Sept. 5 and its Aug. 18th. i dont have much time to change this. how can i?
if i stay up for like 24 hours, and go to bed [with a sleeping pill] at like.. nine. then take a sleeping pill the next day and sleep at like nine again and continue that will i get back on schedule?
PS. i can NOT get to the doctors office.
I suffered from insomnia for 3 years, sometimes not sleeping for a couple days. And if I did, it was no more than 3-4 hours. But this year, I found a natural cure without having to pop pills every night. It's simple - keep yourself active throughout the day. For me, working 8 hours a day @ my job does it. By the time 8pm rolls around, I am usually exhausted & ready to hit the pillow. You can't lay around all day, so if you can't/won't work, try other activities like doing plenty of studying, sports or volunteering to keep your mind & body active. Another thing that can cause insomnia is a poor diet & no exercise; of course you're not going to be tired if you aren't doing anything all day. Start eating healthy, avoid drinking too much caffeine (or atleast not at night time) & other sugary foods. As long as you stay on a routine schedule & do all of the things above, you won't need to take sleeping pills. Get in the routine about a week before school starts & you'll be fine.

Honestly, if you're with someone you love & completely trust, you shouldn't ever feel dirty & slutty. It should be the most amazing thing you share with a person & feeling any kind of disgust or regret is probably not a good sign.
The morning after pill is available at any clinic or a Planned Parenthood clinic & is effective up to 72 hours after sex. Good to see that you are making an effort to protect yourself, but don't do anything that makes you feel slutty in the end.
i have a really nice tan from california but it goes away in like a month =/ is there any way i can keep it throughout the winter or as long as possible? thanks so much.
You can definitely hold a tan by keeping your skin moisturized & by drinking plenty of water. In the winter (or in between tanning) you can rely on moisturizers with a tint of self tanner to give you a glow. I was very skeptical about using them, but I tried Neutrogena Summer Glow Daily Moisturizer & it works wonderfully! I haven't once turned orange or gotten any streaks. The trick is to use a tinted moisturizer that is close to your skin color. Most brands offer you light, medium & dark. People often make the mistake of going with a medium if they are fair skinned - which of course will give you streaks because it's too dramatic of a change in color. So the best thing to do is to start off lighter & you can always go up from there. And if you EVER see streaks appearing, the trick is to use a regular moisturizing lotion to even it out (learned this when I went to do spray tan & came out with color a little uneven in areas.) Hope this helps. :)

Yes, you need to start eating regulary. For now, you will lose weight. But soon enough, you'll start gaining weight, even if you hardly eat nothing. This is because your metabolism will drop dramatically. For a whole year, all I ate were crackers & a little snacks & VERY FEW meals a month. I lost weight, but eventually I put on about 10-15 lbs even though I was eating the same, small amount. If you skip any meals throughout your day, your body will go into starvation mode. & when you do get the chance to eat, your body will store your food as fat because it doesn't know when you will be eating again. You might as well change your habits now while you can or you will be stuck gaining everything you eat, even if it's not much.

In my eyes, yes. I wouldn't want to hold hands with any other guy when I'm going out with my boyfriend. I guess my question for you is, why would you hold hands with another guy? Even if he was just a friend, most people don't hold hands with their guy friends. Although it doesn't seem that "bad" to me, I still see it as a sign of affection that should be shared with only your boyfriend.
