Swim team = pregnant?

Question Posted Tuesday October 2 2007, 2:14 am

I just read that sperm can live for 24 hours in water and it got me thinking.

Im in the swim team, and we practive twice a week in a regular sized pool. Theres a bunch of kids (including boys) and we all practive together.

I always wear a one-piece bathing suit

What are the odds that i could get pregnant from swimming? Am i at risk?

I mean im 13. I dont want a baby yet

The only way you could maybe slighty get pregnant is if you were standing directly close to a kid that was jerking it and he went. In this case, you're on a swim team and people are around so I highly doubt someone will start masturbating in front of you. Trust me, you have nothing to worry about.

Sperm can last in water ONLY if its like 98 degrees exactly for the whole time. And with the sperm diluted in the water, there is as much chance of you getting pregnant as there is a guy getting pregnant from it.

You're 100% safe.

Just don't have sex and you won't get preggers :]

Unless you are having sex in the pool, sperm are not going to swim around, crawl up your vagina & get your pregnant. There's nothing to worry about..

Chlorine does NOT kill sperm. However, the chances of you getting pregnant are very slim because first of all the sperm need to make it through your bathing suit, then up your vagina. Although theres like a billion sperm cells in one ejaculate, they are all spread out so the chances are slim of you coming across one.

Trust me I swim 9 times a week on a boys and girls swim team and no one has gotten pregnant yet.

It's a good thing you don't want a baby yet, because from swimming in a pool, you won't get one!
You're worrying over nothing. The sperm would be killed almost instantly by the chlorine. If females were at high risk of becoming pregnant by sharing pools with boys, something would have obviously been done.
Don't worry and enjoy your swimming. :)

chlorine kills sperm...and unless the guys are jacking off before they get in the pool you have no chance at all...and it's not like your swimming naked either...so no you can't get pregnant
