i've been really doubting Jesus Christ these past few days. i believed in Jesus before and i trust that i'll believe in him once again, i just need some motivation and i need to be reminded again of his grace and glory. please help me turn my life back to God. (link)
|
Turn to your Bible. Pray. Talk to another Christian about it- parent, friend, youth pastor, etc. Listen to Worship CD's and sing along to your favorite songs.
I attended a conference recently where the message was "Preach the Gospel to yourself everyday" and I really feel that there's meaning to that phrase. As Christians, we often think of the Gospel as something we already know and have heard, and just something to pass on to others... but it's more than that! Maybe what you need is a good reminder of what Jesus went through... his time on earth, his suffering, his death on the cross... all because HE LOVES US.
As it says in Romans 8:38 (NLT), "...nothing can ever separate us from his love..."

My bf and I have been dating for about a month now and he recently told me that he thinks hes in love with me. I'm kind of turned off by that because its so soon. He keeps asking me how I feel and I told him I'm not sure, I'm not in love with him, what should I do. (link)
|
Don't say "I love you too" until you're ready. That's important. Tell him the truth- that you're not ready to say it back, and you'd like him to stop asking, that it's making you uncomfortable.
At the same time, he's given you his heart- so be careful with it- the human heart is a fragile thing. Reassure him that you do care about him, and are enjoying dating him.
I hope things work out for you two!

i need some help on what eye shadows and liners to wear. i have brown eyes and i want to be able to bring them out. any suggestions? thanx 4 ne help in advance. (link)
|
Plums and pinks work well for brown eyes.
Almay has that new eyeshadow combinations for different eye colors- you could try that. (I'm not sure what they use for brown eyes)
Make sure that whatever colors you use also work good for your skin tone (for example, don't use black liner if your skin is more pale, and dont' use white/silver shadow if you're darker)

I am so lonely. I can't get a boyfriend. I have been so broken lately. I don't know what to do to make a guy want to be with me. I have guy friends and i mean i am a unique person but i can't get a guy. i am not skinny but i am not too heavy. i am 15 and i probably weigh about 190 lbs. what do i do to make myself more attractive for guys to look at? are there any certain measures i should take such as loosing weight or changing my personality? please help...luv forever--->kelsey lou (link)
|
Confidence is key! The only thing you ought to change is your attitude and self-esteem.
If losing weight, changing your look would help you feel better about yourself, make you feel pretty- then do it. But only if you feel it will benefit YOU- don't do it for anyone else. And if you do choose to lose weight, make sure you're healthy about it- eat good food and exercise, not crash diets!
Smile more! A smile automatically brightens your face, makes you more attractive, AND it's contagious! It makes people WANT to be around you, because you're bubbly and fun!
Don't try to change who you are- you'd probably fail and just come accross as fake. And That's not attractive to anyone.
Try to convince yourself that you don't have to have a boyfriend to be happy. That's a much better solution than trying to change in order to get a boyfriend, and in the end, your newfound happiness just might make you very attractive to a guy you would have never considered to be a possible boyfriend.

I want my boyfriend to kiss me first. But I think he wants me to kiss him first. And I dunno what to do. His best friend keeps telling me to give him a kiss, but I kinda wanna wait til he kisses me! I am really confused about it tho lol. I might just give him a kiss tomorrow and see what happens. What do you guys think I should do? If it helps I'm 13 (link)
|
I think the guy should make the first move. So tell his best friend to give his friend a kick in the pants... you want to be kissed!
|
Well, me and my friend have been friends like forever. WE are bestfriends and our families are extremly close. Well, she has tried braking the relationship every month and 3 or 4 times a month. I am sick of it!! And starting to get sick of her fighting. She can be oh so nice and OH SO mean. We only fight online because she doesn't want to fight in person. I think she might want the relationship to end but I really don't know. She says she will always come back to me every time we fight but sometime I think she won't. I really don't want to lose her but maybe the next time we fight this may be the end to our relationship. I need some advice with that. She used to say how I get all the guys, and how I am not pretty, and also how I copy her, and junk but like I don't understnad her. I have tried not telling her more close things so if we do lose the relationship she won't really have anything to say to anyone about my secrets. But Like I need help on what to do with her..... (link)
|
Maybe talking online is the problem. You said that's when she picks fights. So one way to end the fights would be to stop having conversations online. Block her on your msn or aim or whatever, and just talk to her in person or on the phone. (Do this delicately, though, or else she might take offense... but if you explain that you'd rather just talk on the phone and see her at school and stuff, it might be okay)
Just a thought. The other advice about not being friends with someone who's mean to you is good too... it's up to you which route you choose to take. Good luck!

I really want to become a singer. I mean i REALLY want to. I asked my mom about going to singing lessons, but she said we cant afford it. But if we can afford Piano, we probably can afford singing. I only do piano lessons, and I LOVE music. I have an absolute passion for music.
Ana (link)
|
Private music lessons *are* expensive. So if you did piano and voice, it would be double what your mom is paying now.
For overall music technique, I'd say stick with the piano if you can only do one type of lesson. Singers who are skilled pianists have an advantage over singers who can't play piano.
Is there a choir you can sing in? School, church, community... all of these are places you can sing and grow as a vocalist.
Or you could maybe just do voice lessons during the summer- take the summer off from doing piano, and take voice lessons when you're not in school, then go back to piano during the school year.

I am DR DANIEL SOGLO, the auditing and accounting
section of INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL BANK in ACCRA-BANK with due respect and regards.
I have decided to contact you on a business
transaction that will be very beneficial to both of us at the end of the transaction. We had a foreign client DR H. PAUL JACOBI who deposited a huge sum of money (US$2 million) with our bank. Eventually, this client was among the victims of EGYPT AIR BOEING 767 FLIGHT NO.990 that crashed on the 31-10-1999 in U.S.A but, since then we have not had any body coming for the claims as the next of kin. A sitaution I have monitored closely with my position in the bank.
Now, having monitored this deposit over the years
after his death, and hence nobody has showed up as the next of kin for the past three and half years, I have moved the file to my private volt. I now solicit for your assistance to present you as the next of kin as every other arrangement has being concluded by me and I am only waiting for a foreigner to enable me move the fund to his account. This does not have any risk attached to it as all the internal documentations will
be handled by me.
I therefore request you to confirm your interest by a return message and I will furnish you with details. Your interest will be negotiable before we commence the project.I look forward to hearing from you. Remain Bless.
Yours Faithfully.

People are always asking me about my love life, like people at school. I have had a boyfriend before but that only lasted a week, and I always feel uncomfortable saying 'oh I've only had one boyfriend' when people ask. I know it's not a race or a competition as to who can get the most boyfriends, but it's starting to bug me and I don't want to lie and say I've had loads of boyfriends. The thing is, I'm just not emotionally ready to be in a relationship, and I want any relationship I have to be a long one, so I'm obviously gonna have less boyfriends than everyone else. I don't mind that, I just mind being embarrased when I say 'one'. How can I avoid these conversations, or what should I say when they come up? (link)
|
If it's a question about your current love life, just tell the truth- just smile and say, "I'm single right now, and lovin' it!"
If the person inquires about your past, just avoid the question if you don't feel like talking about it, say "What's past is past" and then change the subject.
Or just tell them what you've said here. You sound like a mature girl- keep going where you're going... you've got it right! :)

OK so the sweetie i've been crushing on for months now asked me to dance last night and one of the monthly dances we have in our town. It was perfect, although it didn't last long. The only problem was that I feel like he was forced into asking me. My friend decided to have a chaperone ask him to ask me to dance. I got mad at her and said i dont want him to ask me if he doesnt want to. so she told him that and he said i really really like her as a friend so i'll still ask her. i sent her back and told her to tell him not to unless he really did want to. so she came back and said he wants to talk to you. so he came up to me and said do you wanna dance? i told him he didnt have to ask me to if he didnt want to and he said he really did want to. so i danced with him and we talked and he said he didnt want me to feel bad and i told him i wouldnt have felt bad if he didnt ask me. i said i would have felt bad if he didnt want to dance with me but he did anyway. someone kinda bumped into us and we like, broke apart. he looked kinda sad and just said "oh, is that it?" i didnt really know what to say so i just shrugged and he slowly walked away. im not sure if he actually wanted to dance with me or not, so i was hoping someone could help me out. thx and sorry its so long!
(link)
|
He asked you to dance with him- not to marry him! I would try not to worry about his intentions so much... or you'll scare him away.
From what you described, it sounds like he likes you, but that he's on the shy side. So having the chaperone and your friend encourage him to ask you to dance probably helped. Then you responded negatively (even though you thought you were protecting yourself, you'd have been better off keeping your mouth shut and just enjoying the dance). So now he's probably feeling discouraged, and that's why he walked away.
If you still want to pursue this guy, you'd better make a move that shows him that you like him. Nothing big, but just talk to him, flirt, that sort of thing. And at the next dance- go ask him to dance. If he says no, then you know that I was wrong, and he's a jerk, and that's that. If he says yes, then try not to make the same mistake again, and just enjoy being with this sweet guy.

I have alot of dried skin on my face all of a sudden for no reason, so I stopped using a facial cleanser but it doesn't seem to help, I've tried a feew moisterisers and nothing is working, and I don't wear cover up or foundation or anything like that. Any advice on how to get my face moisterized? (link)
|
Try a cleanser with exfoliating qualities... like microbeads. Another option is to use a face mask once a week.
Don't stop washing your face. Then the dead skin cells will just collect in your pores along with oil and dirt and form zits.
Do use a good moisturizer. Something that's oil-free is good for most teens.
You may want to try something that's better quality than drugstore brands, such as mary kay, avon, or clinique.

my boy friend is here right now I am so in the mood roght now but I have a promice that I wont lose it ( virginity) till I get married but I want to so bad what do I do help me (link)
|
Make sure you boyfriend knows about your promise. If he's aware of it, he can help you keep it.
Don't let yourself get put in situations that are that tempting. Keep the lights on, play a board game instead of watching a movie, hang out with other people, take a walk outdoors instead of cuddling inside... there's lots of ways to decrease the temptation for sexual activity and still have fun with your boyfriend.
You didn't say, but if your promise about your virginity is with God, prayer can really help. Also, read Bible verses dealing with temptation, sexual sin, etc. Daily prayer is really important in keeping faith alive. When you find yourself tempted to go beyond your limits, stop, get out of the situation, and pray.
Hormones are tricky things. You just have to remind yourself that "this too shall pass" and
think about the bigger picture. If you give in to temptation and have sex now, breaking your promise, you'll most likely regret it later. You're better off staying true to your promise, even though it seems really hard right now.

Alright, I was up at a skating rink I always go to and I was skating, I saw this guy who was skating backwards. Im one of those who just doesnt let a guy get to me. For some out of the blue reason, he started talkin to me. I was so stunned by him, thers no way anyone could understand how shocked I was to see him. I didnt even know him. So about a week later hes down here again at this rink. We talk and I find out hes from Brewton, AL. Its only about 50 min. away from Milton. Im a Sophmore and hes a Senior, theres something about him that strikes me (in a good way) We start goin out about half a month later, Things were so good between me and him for weeks and I liked him a lot, I even lost my virginity to him. I dont why but I coudlnt resist him. It felt like something told me it was okay, so weeks later Im starting to feel like he doesnt like me, because hes not comeing down to see me. (Plus he had a good reason he had wrecked his car a couple weeks back because he was driving home from my house at like 3 in the morning and hit a deer.) For three weeks I keep my calm, and listen to his reasons for not comeing.. Finally on the 4th week I call him for 3 days in a row.. not getting an answer, I finally leave a message. Saying that " We cant be together and I dont think its gonna work and that if he wants to talk give me a call" A week goes by and I decide to call him, We talk and I ask him why he never returned my call.. he says he was too mad that I had ended it. I asked him if thats the way he wanted things to be, he sed "No,not at the time, but it would have ended that way eventually" Thats about all was said.. So here it is a month later. And my friend sees him down at Opps Alley a place down here close to Milton, She talks to him about us breaking up, and if thats what he wants. He tells her no,but now it doesnt matter anymore. I really have feelings for this guy, and he doesnt know it. I know, that to call him wouldnt make a difference, because its just not gonna work. But I think about it and what if Im suppose to call him? If something wasnt meant for me and him at all..Why'd God put him there that one night at the skating rink, when he lives miles away? And why was it me he noticed, and what made me notice him ? You think theres was anything there..or am I just tryin to make myself believe something might actually be between us ? And before you answer I've had lots of quick relationships, except for 1 that lasted about 6 months. So Im not falling for him cause hes like my first boyfriend or nothing, I've had experience.
(link)
|
There's two possibilities with this one: 1) he was just using you for sex. 2) he really did like you
If it's #1, then forget about him! Or at least try.
If it's #2, then it's worth a shot to try and get back together with him. Yes, long distance relationships are hard, but they are possible.
First of all, he needs to know how you feel about him. Call him, or send him an email. Explain that you broke up with him because you were hurt that he hadn't called or visited. Say you want to try again.
Good luck!

I rate high....
Well me and this guy are friends I like him and stuff well he wants to go to the movies this weekend but my mom said I cant date until im 17. I told her its just as friends but she still says no. Just because she iddnt start dating until she was 17 doesnt mean she had to do that to me. What should I do? I really realllly wanna go with him. (link)
|
Well, for this weekend, your best bet is probably to make it more than just you and him. Invite other friends to go along with you, or take your little bro/sis (if you've got one)
For future (changing your mom's mind on the dating thing)... You have to show her that you're mature enough to date. Stuff like helping around the house, doing your homework, doing stuff she asks without complaining, not fighting with siblings, etc. shows maturity. If you're already doing all this- it can help to go the extra mile every once in a while. (examples- offer to empty the dishwasher, do your own laundry, or whatever else you can think of that she'll notice) Also- talk to your mom. In dealing with parents, I've learned that communication is key! Parents like to know what's going on in their kids' lives. I'm not saying you have to tell her everything you'd tell your friends, but tell her about your friends and about school. And don't wait for her to ask all the time, either. Volunteer the information- at the dinner table, say something like "So, my math test was really hard today" or "We're reading a really interesting story in English right now." When your mom sees that you're maturing, and not a little kid anymore, she'll start to trust you to make your own decisions.
On getting Mom to realize that this guy is just your friend... Invite him over to your house a few times. Let her meet him. Maybe have him over for pizza some Friday or something, so your mom can see you interacting with him and realize that he's just a friend.

ok i've like this guy named Matt Crockett since second grade. i sent him a secret admirer this year and he knows it's from me and i think he really likes me back. i have been having dreams about him lately and some were pleasing and some were weird. one weird one is that i was 40 and feeding a baby and came in and said hello honey. it freaked me out so mcuh i woke up.i have been having nicer dreams about him besides that one but it wasn't true.at a dance at the end of the year i want to ask him to dance with 'cause i really like him. his best friend really hates me so that is my last chance to get to know him.(there aren't many trustworthy boys at me school that are close friends with him)so please help me talk to him and ask him out or at least call him. (link)
|
I'd say your first step is to try to become friends with him. Do you have any classes with him at school? Do you pass him in the hallway? Is his locker near yours? Use any of these, or other opportunities you have to be around him, to strike up a conversation.
To talk to him- First, smile and say hi. Smiling is always inviting. Good options for conversation: weather, sports, movies, music, "what are you doing this weekend?" school stuff (homework, stupid teachers, etc.) or whatever else is common ground. (stuff you can both talk about). Questions that can be answered with "yes" or "no" or just one word or sentence are bad questions- unless you've got a follow-up question ready.
For example:
you: What's your favorite movie?
him: [some movie]
you: Oh really?! I love that movie! What's your favorite part?
*only say this if it's true* OR
you: hmmm... I've never seen that movie, what's it about?
If it's easier to talk to him via phone, im, or txt message, then do that, but talking in person really is the best way to get to know someone, in my opinion.
The reason I say try to talk to him like a friend is that it'll take away some of the pressure while you're getting to know him. Then when you've established a talking relationship (i.e. when he'll smile and say hi when he passes you in the hall, or when he'll start a conversation with you) then you can add in flirting.
So I'd say try this for a while, and if it's working, about a month before the dance, mention it in conversation to see his reaction. Sometime between a month and 2 weeks before the dance, find out if he's goign with anyone. If his answer is no, and he doesn't seem freaked out to be talking about it, suggest you go together. OR talk about how excited you are about the dance, but that you don't have a date yet. (giving him the opportunity to ask you- but be careful with this one, because some guys are stupid and don't pick up on hints)
About the dreams... try not to worry about them. If you worry about them or think about them too much, it'll just stress you out and make it even harder to talk to Matt. The nice dreams are o.k., because they might help give you confidence in going to talk to him, but overall only YOU can make the move in real life.
Good luck!
p.s. thanks for asking me a question! you are my first inbox advice question! yay!

hey, me and my boyfriend, were both 18, want to get married, and his mom has absolutely no problem with it, because she already considers me her daughter, but my dad is totally against it. what should i do (link)
|
Yes, you're 18, a legal adult... but are you ready to live independently? Are you and your boyfriend ready to support yourselves financially? Marriage is a big step- do you have a job, the ability to buy or rent a house or apartment, finances to buy food, clothes and other monthly necessities?
If your answer is no, then you should probably listen to your dad. Yes, you and your boyfriend are in love, but until you're ready to move out of your parent's homes and support yourselves, you shouldn't be getting married.
On the other hand, if you think you can handle all the responsibilties of living independently, then talk to your dad. Show him that you're mature and responsible, and that you and your boyfriend have a plan.
Or just run away and elope. ;-)

I have a short story outline due on thursday and I am FRESH out of ideas! If anybody has ANY ideas whatsoever, please tell me! Even if you only have an idea for a scene, I can make something of it. Please just give me any ideas that come to your mind.
By the way, I like stories in which unusual things happen
Thanks I'll rate 5's for any ideas!

Can you retell a familiar story? Like set Red Riding Hood in modern-day Chicago or Rapunzel in a Nazi concentration camp?

Hey! Im looking into seeing broadway shows, i love watching them and i was wondering if anyone had some they'd like to recomend!?
THanks a lot! (link)
|
Avenue Q, Rent, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Pirates of Pennzance (sp?), Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hairspray, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Chicago,
...there's so many awesome shows out there, it's hard to list just a few. Try searching a ticketmaster site or something... they usually have reviews and such that should help you figure out what shows suit your tastes.
Oh- and Bernadette Peters is AMAZING- if you get the chance to see her in any show, go see her!!

ok i like this guy at school. he is in my gym class and i always look at him like he is the man of my dreams. he's nice funny cute sweet.anyway i can't seem to get his attention. i see him look at me when i'm looking at himbut i immeditley turn away. i'm shy around him but loud around his best freind. i don't even have the guts to call him. his name is matt and if you know who he is please help me out.when i was in 2nd grade i liked him and i still do now. he invited me over to his house three times in 2nd grade and i even saw a picture of him when he was a baby and when he was naked!
i guess my question is can u please help me to ask him to a dance at the end of the year which is on june 7th. if you know me please don't tell matt that i like him ok
signed please help me!!!!!!!!! (link)
|
You need to stop placing him on a pedestal. Right now, it sounds like you think of him as the dreamiest hottie on the planet. You're so concerned with how you act/look around him, that you're unable to be yourself.
Make a list of his bad qualities, or if not "bad" qualities, then stupid stuff he's done, or qualities that make him normal. If it works, you'll be able to see that he's as normal as you and me, and maybe you'll be able to look at him as just another guy, rather than almost-a-god.
Try talking to him. It'll probably take babysteps, but you've got a couple months yet. Start with stupid conversations, like talking about the weather, or your gym class, or cafeteria food, or a favorite movie or band, just normal stuff like that.
Try to become friends with his best friend. Since it's too hard to talk to your crush, you can get closer to him by getting closer to his friend. Who knows, by May you might be close enough to the friend to get him to ask your crush out for you. (not always the best option out there, but it works for some people)
Anyways, good luck! Smile, try to be yourself, and keep reminding yourself that this guy is NOT perfect.

Okay there is this REALLY nice guy and I like him a lot.. and he REALLY likes me.. but then there is my ex bf who also likes me.. This new guy chris I havnt gone out with yet.. and I went out with my ex steven 6 times already and it didn't work out.. I am thinking Chris but a lot of my friends r picking Steven.. Please help me..
Chris or Steven?? (link)
|
Chris.
From the way you worded your question, it sounds like you've already made your decision. Go with your gut. Date Chris. Don't listen to your friends, unless they give you a really good reason not to date Chris.
Dating Steven just because he likes you again is NOT a good reason to date a guy. Dating a nice guy (Chris) whom you like and he likes you back is a good reason.
