However, jesus will help you if you help yourself... So, whatever situation you are in, just try to do what is right... and he will guide you and protect you...just ask for it...call on him...be closer..have faith... be sorry for anything wrong u've ever done and ask for forgiveness...maybe jesus wants you to change? be a better person? i don't know that forsure but just know he loves you. I rarely doubt now, but of course you have fears and get scared...but not it is only up to there...he really protects me... you don't know me but believe me on this... i've learned from experience...anything is possible with him.. mgh12 answered Thursday March 10 2005, 5:58 pm: Think about every good thing that has happened to you. Maybe that can help you a little. Maybe you can go to church to see other believers there who might be able to motivate you a little more. Or maybe you can read some stories in the Bible or other book about Jesus.
VeLvtxRevoLvr213 answered Thursday March 10 2005, 5:29 pm: Just remember three things
1 Jesus Loves you
2. God made you for a reason
3. You are an individual and in Gods eyes, very special.
Read the bible, meditate, go to church, and listen to 'jesus walks' by k. west. hope i helped x0 [ VeLvtxRevoLvr213's advice column | Ask VeLvtxRevoLvr213 A Question ]
Claire15 answered Thursday March 10 2005, 2:54 pm: Think of all the good things that have happened to you in your life and all the happy times you've had. They were all thanks to Jesus and God. Then think of all the sad times you've experienced, but how you managed to pull through them. He was the one who helped you make it. If you still doubt read the bible and all the miraculous and brilliant things He did. Also go to Church and pray, for that is where His presense is felt the strongest and He'll be able to draw you back to believing.
rainbowsend answered Thursday March 10 2005, 2:20 pm: Turn to your Bible. Pray. Talk to another Christian about it- parent, friend, youth pastor, etc. Listen to Worship CD's and sing along to your favorite songs.
I attended a conference recently where the message was "Preach the Gospel to yourself everyday" and I really feel that there's meaning to that phrase. As Christians, we often think of the Gospel as something we already know and have heard, and just something to pass on to others... but it's more than that! Maybe what you need is a good reminder of what Jesus went through... his time on earth, his suffering, his death on the cross... all because HE LOVES US.
kleokriesel answered Thursday March 10 2005, 1:13 pm: If this has been happening just a few days, don't worry about it. Periods of doubt are completely normal; even priests experience them from time to time.
However, if this continues for several months, you might try studying other religions and theological theories. There is nothing wrong or sinful about studying other religions. [ kleokriesel's advice column | Ask kleokriesel A Question ]

FunnyCide answered Wednesday March 9 2005, 10:23 pm: Okay. This is a normal feeling that most teenagers go through, when they're testing their faith. I'm a Christian, and I'm glad that you asked this question instead of just letting your doubt run wild with you. Oh, a warning, this will more than likely be long.
Ok, so, you are a Christian. "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9. If you have done this at one point in time, you are a Christian, and, good news! you can't lose your salvation! There are but two unforgiveable sins: 1) Proclaiming to be God. Not just joking, but seriously believe and convince others that you are God. People will worship you. This would mean you're the AntiChrist.
2) Rejecting God's free gift of eternal life.
Those are the only sins that are unforgiveable! You are not the AntiChrist, and you've accepted God's gift of salvation already, so, you're set! You can't lose what was already given to you! God's not going to take that back.
You said that you wanted to be reminded of His grace and glory, well, my friend, look around you. Do you think that the trees just popped up? That is God's glory! God created those trees so that we could breathe! So we could have shade! For firewood! God gave us cows so we could have hamburgers! We have pets that comfort us when we seem to have no friends, we have nice places to live, a computer with Internet service, great friends, a Bible!! A BIBLE!! That is God's mercy, glory, and grace! Why did God send His only - ONLY - son to die for you and I? Dude, I don't deserve it. No one deserves it. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" - Romans 3:23. That means that there is no mortal human being who is perfect! Only Jesus was perfect! (and God and the Holy Spirit, but they are one..)
I know that you probably know this verse back and forth, inside and out, but..."For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotton Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." - John 3:16-18
Alas, my friend, if we did not have Christ, we would be condemned to suffer eternally in Hell. Is that your dream getaway? It's definitely not something I would want to spend one hour doing, let alone eternity. So, as you see, God's love is abundant. Gosh, God is so forgiving! You see, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Man, I'm gonna put this in perspective. If you had this huge test coming up, and you had to study really, really hard for it, and your mom said to go to your room and study for an hour, then you could mess around on the Internet. So, you break out the books, and you faithfully study for forty-five minutes. Then, you grab a magazine, and start reading. Before you know it, the other fifteen minutes are gone! Your mom asks if you've studied for an hour, and you say, "Yes, ma'am." So you can mess around on the computer. If you did even this sin, lying to your mom, (and disobeying her too) then you would die! Burn in Hell. Not a pretty thought, eh? Well, that's another factor of God's grace. He forgives us for all things, lying, murdering, stealing, disobedience, adultery, you name it, God'll forgive it.
I would suggest that you find a close, Christian peer, someone maybe older than you who can be your mentor. They can help you keep your life on track with God, and it'll feel so much better knowing that you've got someone to confide in. You should start reading God's word daily. Start with a Gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John) or the Psalms. I began with the Psalms, because they're fairly easy to comprehend. Very uplifting too! Don't take on more than you can manage, including starting with a book of the Bible that is too hard, like Revelations. That is way too deep for someone who needs encouragement, not to be terrorized about what is to come.
I love outdoors. That is how I find God's glory. I have horses, yes, and God has blessed me with those wonderful animals. Whenever I'm down, I can always go outside, climb a tree, look at my horses grazing, think of God... and soon, I'm feeling better. God's glory is all around us. I love things like eclipses, that is amazing! It shows how complex our Universe is, and it reflects it's Creator. The flowers... amazing! "'Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!'" - Luke 12:27-28 Amazing! God gives us beautiful grasses, that are here today, but tomorrow are thrown into the fire. You are much more important than grasses!! God loves you, my friend! There is not much else I think I can tell you. Feel free to ask anything, and I'll be praying for you. God bless you

MakalahLea answered Wednesday March 9 2005, 10:22 pm: There are a few things that I remind myself of if/when I find myself doubting my Savior or worrying about things that are truely in His hands. I hope these things help you.
He knew exactly what you would do in your life, the kind of person you would be, the trials that you would face and the measures of faith that you would claim and He created you anyway.
Every time that you have gotten sick, it has been God that has healed you for He is the great physician, not man.
He promised us that He would never leave us nor forsake us, despite all of the times that we hurt Him, His name or turn our backs on His blessings. He will always be there to carry you.
He is still there and will always be there, even if no one belives in Him.
He has proven His love in the most amazing definite way that He could have, His son died for our sins. God loves us enough to have done that for us. Jesus Christ loves us enough to do that for us.
Even if you were the only sinner in the world, Jesus would have died on the cross to save just you.
These things are very humbling to think about yet they are all true and are all refocusing points that we need in our Christian walk at times. It is tough to always do the right thing, to always have 100% faith, to always be the shining example that we should be. It is tough because we lean on ourselves, in our human flesh to be that way. If you rely COMPLETELY on God, He will give you the strength that you need. He will always make sure that you have every thing that you need. He will always carry you, always be with you, always listen to you, always love you. If we keep those things in our minds, and keep our lives turned to always seek God's face, living a Christian life will become simple. Trust in God. Give your entire life over to Him. Do not expect yourself to be perfect. You can't be. You are human and will mess up. Ask for forgiveness when you do and you have a clean slate. Above all, remember His love, His forever love that He will have for you for eternity.
The lyrics that I have listed below are to a wonderful song by The Crabb Family that I listen to whenever I feel doubt beginning to creep in. If you can find it, listen to it. If you cannot find it, just read the lyrics. They give us hope. I hope that everything works out for you. Please contact me anytime if I can be of help. God bless you!
Through The Fire - The Crabb Family
So many times I've questioned certain circumstances
things I could not understand
many times in trials, weakness blurs my vision
then my frustration gets so out of hand
its then I am reminded I've never been forsaken
I've never had to stand the test alone
as I look at all the victories the spirit rises up in me
and its through the fire my weakness is made strong
chorus:
He never promised that the cross would not get heavy
and the hill would not be hard to climb
He never offered our victories without fighting
but He said help would always come in time
just remember when your standing in the valley of decision
and the adversary says give in
just hold on, our Lord will show up
and He will take you through the fire again
bridge:
I know within myself that I would surely perish
but if I trust the hand of God, He'll shield the flames again, again
Notso answered Wednesday March 9 2005, 9:48 pm: Jesus stopped visiting advicenators awhile ago. I'd suggest you look other places like church, the Bible, or with a religious friend.
I suppose from a Christian standpoint, the fact that you are willing to find God is enough. You'll get back on track eventually, but I doubt this website is the way to go about it. Try a Christian teen message board or something (if you can't find one type "Christian message boards" into google's search box). [ Notso's advice column | Ask Notso A Question ]
Little_Miss_Cant_Be_Wrong answered Wednesday March 9 2005, 9:44 pm: Hi! Its very normal to go through ups and downs in your spiritual life. It's in our human nature to doubt things, but if you had faith before, you just need to rekindle that passion. You have already made the biggest step - realizing that you need to improve your faith and relationship with God. That's excellent, I am glad that you have recognized that you need God in your life again. Try having a talk with your pastor...tell him that you have been feeling a litte lacking in the faith department, but really want to get back on track. Ask what he suggests. If talking to the pastor would make you uncomfortable, I have some other ideas. Most importantly, pray! Pray that God will send his Holy Spirit to work in your life and to strengthen your faith. I know a book that is absolutely amazing, I read it as part of a Bible study group...you might find that it is just what you need. It's called 'The Purpose Driver Life' and it is by Rick Warren. It really put things into perspective for me when I was going through a difficult time in my faith life. I don't know if this is your sort of thing, but you could go on a mission trip. My youth group has several trips a year to a poor village in Mexico, working with little kids and teaching them about Jesus. From what I hear, it is a totally life-changing experience. I plan on going on one of the trips next year. If you belong to a church, get active in a Bible study program. You didn't say how old you were, but I will assume you are age appropriate for a youth group type thing. They are alot of fun, and you can associate with people your own age who could be going through the same thing you are. If you are older, there are college age groups and adult ministries as well. There are alot of things to help get your faith stronger, but alot are things you may just not notice anymore. Take a moment every once in awhile and observe a sunset... or take a walk through the woods and observe nature in its purest form. Look at all the amazing things God has created. Incredible, isn't it? Take a look at your own life, as well. God has a plan for you, although he may not have revealed it to you yet. We all go through tough times, but it is important to remember, God will never give you any struggle or challenge without giving you the strength to get through it! I hope this helped a little, please don't hesitate to leave me a message in my inbox if you have any more questions or need any more help. This is truly an important question...You faith and your relationship with Jesus is more important than anything else! Don't forget... Jesus died and rose for you so that you can spend eternity in heaven with him someday, and he wants to be your greatest friend...let him back into your heart and see the difference it will make and the warmth it will bring back into your life! Good luck, I will be praying for you! [ Little_Miss_Cant_Be_Wrong's advice column | Ask Little_Miss_Cant_Be_Wrong A Question ]
