See Wicked!!!! Thats my personal fav. Other good ones are Hairspray, Brooklyn, Beuty and the Beast, and Lion King. I think you should see see wicked

Wicked is a prequal to the Wizard of OZ (came before it) This whole play explains why the wicked witch wanted the slippers, why the scarecrow didnt have abrain and about the lion etc, why the wicked witch is green, why Glinda's name is Glinda, and much much more that you never knew!!! The songs in it are great and the actors are great too!!!!! The show is really popular so it may take a while to get tix.

I hope i helped you!!!

Here are some I would reccommend that I saw and thought were good:

Phantom of the Opera (It was incredible, it gave me chills.)
Lion King (also very good)
Chicago
Les Miserables (It's a classic)
Grease
Stomp (It's a very unique show, highly entertaining.)

Hope that helps, enjoy whatever show you end up seeing!

K3587 answered Tuesday March 1 2005, 11:04 pm:
Well, when I went to New York, I had the privilege of going to see Phantom of the Opera. It was the greatest thing I've ever seen in a theatre of any sort. Now, with the movie of it being out, it's popularity has grown. I hear the movie is a lot like the play, so if you like the movie, you'll like the play. (And vice versa.)

S_C answered Tuesday March 1 2005, 9:23 pm:
Is Oklahoma a broadway play? I know they made it into the movie, but I hated the movie, I thought the play was much better. But my opinion. I also like Fiddler on the Roof, we had to watch that a while back in some class. I assume CATS is good, though I haven't seen it, it's just a famous one. Sorry I'm not much help, I really liked Oklahoma though, the play with...I forgot the actors name... was really good. Sorry I'm not much help.

Hairspray is awesome.. one my dance instructors from this workshop I went to was in it... Oh and I'm dying to see Chicago. Another good one that just opened is Good Vibrations... it's supposed to be really funny. And of course Movin' Out and Wicked are like the top shows to go see. Have fun, I love Broadway!

Hope I helped!

One word: Chicago. I saw it live and it was absolutely amazing.

And of course A Chorus Line is classic.

Also Rent and Grease are great.

Finally, if you ever get the opportunity to see STOMP do so immediately! It's the best live show I've ever seen in my life...dramatic but true.

WICKED! I don't know if you mean broadway shows going on now or not, but i totally reccomend that you see Wicked or at least read the book. Sorry! I feel bad that I don't know whether you're talking about ones going on now or not, but I really don't know because I don't live in New York, but I hope I helped you out.

Avenue Q, Rent, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Pirates of Pennzance (sp?), Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hairspray, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Chicago,

...there's so many awesome shows out there, it's hard to list just a few. Try searching a ticketmaster site or something... they usually have reviews and such that should help you figure out what shows suit your tastes.

Oh- and Bernadette Peters is AMAZING- if you get the chance to see her in any show, go see her!!
