I have daRk bRown eyes, and daRk bRown haiR with tan skin. A lot of the time I pick my make up accoRding to my outfit, but not always. HoweveR, I go with a lot of light puRples, suttle pinks, and *TONS* of white and A LOT of black eyelineR -- I find that Really appReciates bRown eyes. HeRe's a tip: to get youR eyeshadow to last alllllllllll day, put some body lotion, oR PetRoleum Jelly on fiRst, THEN apply the shadow. Also, theRe's this technique I ALWAYS do, called "Shadowing". It cReates this AWESOME smokey affect!! You simply put on the coloR eyeshadow you wish to weaR, then using a bRistle bRush, dab a bit of gRay eyeshadoW oveR it!! It's goRgeous; I *NEVER* leave the house without it!! And as foR eyelineR... when it comes to liquid oR pencil, it's just a peRsonal pRefeRence. HoweveR, if you ask... MOST people will tell you that pencil is a betteR choice. It's a gReat staRt foR a beginneR who is just getting used to it. If you mess up, pencil is A WHOLE LOT easieR to clean up and Re-do than liquid would be. And if you plan on caRRying it aRound in a puRse oR pocket.. theRe's a chance that the liquid may Ruin. And now foR the pRoducts... peRsonally, I think the two best bRands of eyelineR out theRe aRe "MeRyl NoRman" and "Beautique". "MeRyl NoRman", which can only be puRchased at "The MeRyl NoRman Cosmetic Studios", is pRicey [typically $8.50 - $17.00], but it REALLY IS good stuff. It goes on wondeRfully, and stays on all day!!! On the otheR hand... I happen to think that "Beautique" is INCREDIBLE, howeveR, I've ONLY seen "Beautique" at "Sally's". And "Beautique" is only .99 cents. TRUST ME.. I would NEVER EVER EVER buy cRap make up!!! I get only the best, so please, please, please, please DON'T let this dollaR pRice thRow you off - you'd be cheating youRself out of the best pRoduct out theRe!! I'd PREFER "Beautique" out of ANY otheR bRand of eyelineR!! I could easily go out and buy a $15.00 pencil, but I'd RATHER get "Beautique"! "Beautique" glides on smoothly and REALLY LASTS ALLLLL DAY!!! I CAN NOT pRomote this item enough!! And if you still have doubts... foR only .99 cents.. it's woRth a shot!! Goodluck!! Feel fRee to come back to me if you eveR need moRe suggestions. Hope I helped!! =D

i have dark eyes also. i like to use blaack eye liner. i put a thin line across my eye lid about my lashes and apply a little on the bottom of my eye just under the lashes. i use earthy or nuetral tones such as browns, bronzes, tans, etc. i find that for my eyes and my skin tone that it really helps bring them out. if your not sure with the answers you ahve received go and talk to a person at a make up counter in a store, they will be able to tell you what shades will look best for your eyes and skin tone.

Dear Makeup,
For brown eyes I suggest maybe some earthy tones like a bronze or a green but nothing too drastic. For eye liners stick with a charcoal color. I hope I helped. :)

To bring out your eyes, you should wear black eyeliner and earth tone eyeshawdows such as light browns, creams, greens, etc. Black mascara will also help bring out your eyes.

Try bright colors. Bright pinks, whites, purples. They'd all look great with your brown eyes. As far as eye liner goes go with black or silver. DO NOT USE BROWN.

I also have brown eyes so maybe I can offer you some helpful suggestions.

Since brown eyes look warm, tend to use warmer colors like brown, bronze and peach tones. What I do is get a highlighting shadow which should be pretty light, say a pinkish peach. Using a shadow brush load your brush with the color, tap it to remove excess. Apply this light color from the lashes to the brow. Then with a medium hue (brown, bronze), use a shadow brush and do the same and sweep the color from your lashes to the eye crease. To highlight the crease, you can use a darker color and sweep a small line along your crease. Then with either a liner brush or a spongey pointed pad, dip it in a little bit of water and brush with a darker shade of brown. line your eyes lightly and lift your arm as you get to the outer corner of the eye (not too much!) Curl lashes and finish with mascara.

The above method is for a pretty natural look. You can use a variety of colors too. Try to avoid light blue and pastels, they tend to make your eyes look pasty and chalky. My suggestions are darker colors like a plum, very dark blue, dark pink, and browns and peaches. Do not use the dark blues, pinks, and purples over the whole lid. Only use these colors to line your eyes with a similar but lighter color for the actual shadow.

As for the color of the eyeliner, use a dark brown by day and a black by night. Smoky eye also looks very pretty at night.

I hope this helps!

ShYbl0nD3 answered Wednesday March 9 2005, 2:16 pm:
lite blue would make them look very pretty and it would bring out the brown alittle more and make them look softer and really nice. You could also try maybe somthing close to your skin color but maybe alittle darker or even lighter. That also works to see your brown eyes more clearly. and eyeliner? well just use alittle of maybe a drakish brown and put it somewhat on the outside of your eye and maybe in the middle or alittle towards the outside area on the top.
hopfully u understood that lol.
Good Luck!

One thing that is good to know is that Revlon carries the same colors every season as Chanel. You can go to the Chanel counter, get some free advice from their cosmetic gurus, and then go to a drugstore and find the exact same colors, color combinations and everything. They have different names but the shades are the same. Great way to look great and save money!

eyeliner on the top and not on the bottom, or maybe just a little on the bottom. use creamy colors, and use mascara too. if you have darker skin, darker eye shadow looks better and for lighter skin, vice versa. get kind of shimmery towards the top and but a regular color on the bottom, or something. good luck with the eye-bringing-outness.

Plums and pinks work well for brown eyes.

Almay has that new eyeshadow combinations for different eye colors- you could try that. (I'm not sure what they use for brown eyes)

Make sure that whatever colors you use also work good for your skin tone (for example, don't use black liner if your skin is more pale, and dont' use white/silver shadow if you're darker)

Oh i just saw a comercial that showed a new line of eyeshadows that is specifically for bringing out your personal eye color. Except the person on the comerical had blue eyes and put on silver and gold at the same time, to enhance her baby blues. maybe check it out at the stores! I would personaly suggest lighter colors, because i have friends who have dark eyes and look awsome with bright blue eyeshadow and white, and light pink. I have light eyes and dark colors enhance mine. Well good luck i hope i helped. xoxo always ash
