So I've been trying to use tampons for a while now but I still can't seem to get it right. I used to be afraid of them but now I'm over it. Their tampons...whatever. But every time I get one in, I can still kind of feel it, like, at the end...which sounds wierd, I know. It's like it's not in far enough and I keep trying to get it in farther but its just not working...am I stupid or something? I mean, I'm trying, but it just won't work. It doesn't hurt or anything putting them in Are you supposed to be able to feel them? Any tips as to how far to put them in? I'm just confused as to why it won't work cause I have to swim tonight.

If you have never used tampons before then I suggest you use thin applicator tampons such as Tampax, Slimmer for Starters, which are specially designed for first time users. Applicator tampons are much easier to use than non-applicator ones as they have a cardboard tube to help insert the tampon, which makes sure it's properly in.

Get yourself in a comfortable position, hold the tampon in the middle and slowly and gently insert the tampon, remembering that the vagina slopes upwards. When you feel your fingers touch your body, push the inner tube inside the outer tube and then pull both tubes out, leaving the tampon inside your body.

If you have inserted it properly, then you shouldn't be able to feel it at all. If it's not fully in then you can push it further with your fingers or try again with a fresh tampon.

It's best to try at a time when you're not rushed and you have a lot of time to get it right. Once you get into them, tampons are a lot more comfortable and fresh feeling than sanitary towels and you'll find them really easy to use.

im 13/f and i just got my discharge today and it feels like i peed myself...how long do you think i'll have it until my period comes??

Generally, girls start getting discharge about two years before they start their periods, although this does vary. If you find discharge uncomfortable then you can use pantyliners, which are a thinner, more discreet version of a sanitary towel that sit in your underwear to keep you dry.

will first time sex hurt even if your hymen has broken? will you still be tight or will it be good the first time?

Most people find that first time sex is painful, regardless of the state of your hymen. Very few people find their first time particularly pleasureable, and it probably will hurt a little bit. Usually it's just a short stinging sensation but it could be more. A lot of girls find that they bleed for a few days afterwards and this is normal. If you've never had sex before then it's unlikely that you will suddenly loosen up from just one time, but you could find that you are slightly looser.

is there any way i can change my username on advicenators? please and thank you!

The only way you can change your username without getting a new count and starting from scratch is by signing up for a paid account. I believe these are $10 a year, you can find out more information by clicking 'paid accounts' under the 'miscellaneous' heading on the side bar of the site.

hi, im almost 16 and ive never been kissed and never had a boyfriend...is this as bad as it seems?...and not jus girls points of veiw plz. ive had chances but never made anything of them...am i that big of a loser, i think that im attractive and im smart and a good person so whats wrong?will rate high!!!!all 5's

No, you're not a loser. I know people who didn't get their first kiss until they were in their twenties and have had one or no boyfriends. It's fine. Different people do these things at different stages, you obviously haven't found someone right to kiss and be with yet. And it's best if you wait until you find someone you really like because it's not special to kiss someone just for the sake of being kissed. My first kiss was with one of my best friends and I wish I'd waited until I was with a boyfriend.

I think I may have social anxiety(sp). Whenever my friends do something without me I start to think they don't like me and and start to get very depressed. I've been depressed a lot lately for different reasons also but I was thinking I may have social anxiety. I'm starting to feel separated from my friends and that I only have one tru friend. I'm also getting depressed more easily. The slightest thing makes me force back tears. Does anyone have an idea as to what this might be? Thank you.

You don't have social anxiety. Social anxiety is when you get worried or scared in social situations and you are very shy. Feeling seperated from your friends is not social anxiety, it's low self esteem.

I suggest you talk to your friends about how you feel and work on your self confidence.

Hey guys! Well I need a foundation what kind is the best kind? tell me the name and if you can maybe you could find a picture on google so I can see how it looks like and what to look for! Thnx I'll rate!

I use Dream Matte Mousse by Maybelline and it works great. It works really, really well and you don't need to use very much at a time. It also leaves a complete matte base so you don't even have to use much powder. I really reccomend it.

So I've been going out with my boyfriend for almost a year...and i have no idea what to get him for Valentine's Day. I know its kinda late now.. but i can't find anything.
Any ideas?

If you've been going out with your boyfriend for a year and you still don't know what kind of things he likes, then you obviously don't know him well enough.

Think about his interests. Does he play guitar? Could he do with something like a guitar strap or some add on? Does he play a sport? Are there any CDs he wants? A DVD or a computer game? Vouchers for a shop he likes?

Think about all those options and if all else fails, then get him chocolate and invite him over to watch a movie.

this is probably gonna sound really stupid, but i was just wondering how do gay men have sex? can they even? because they both have, well you know. then the same with girls? i dont get it.

Gay men can have sex, although obviously they can't have penis/vagina sex. Most gay men have what's called anal sex. Anal sex is when a penis is inserted into the anus. Both boy/girl and boy/boy couples can have anal sex but it is more commonly known as gay sex because it is the only kind of intercourse that gay couples can participate in.

Obviously, girl/girl couples cannot have any kind of sex involving a penis.

Has anyone here ever heard of the band Panic! At the Disco?

I have indeed and I listen to them.
Everyone I meet on the internet seems to have this way of thinking that means that if you listen to them then you're automatically a cliche scene kid. But the thing is, here in Britain they're not very well known so it's not very cliche at all.

This is a very long scenario, but bare with me please, for I'm in dire need of help. My best friend asked me out friday, and I said no [being the idiot that I am] because I thought he was joking [yeah, I know, it's stupid, but he's done it before]. I've liked him for atleast 4 years, and I just missed my chance, which makes me really sad. My other best friend asked him today at school if he was going to ask me back out. He said no, but he still like me.

So basically, he liked me, asked me out, I said no, and now he's not going to ask me out anytime soon. Now things are different between us. He's acting so different, he's being really mean and he was never like this before. For example, today in class I scolded him for touching my chest because I simply didn't want him to. He said I was a "PMSing bitch" I yelled at him some more and told him that was so f*cked up. He stopped talking to me, but I didn't really care. Then he apologized and started talking to me again.

He's never done this before, and it's making me upset. Before this, he used to put his arm around my shoulder, hug me from behind, and do all the other little stuff that girls love. He's amazing and perfect.

My question is, what should I do about this situation? Should I ask him out? Does it sound like he'd ever ask me out again? Thank you so much in advance.♥

It sounds like he's being mean to you because he's feeling hurt that you rejected him and his pride has been damaged. If I were you, I'd just ask him out. He still likes you, he's just scared that he's going to be rejected again.

ok. i feel really stupid but, what is a noob? a lot of my friends say it on the computer and i'll feel really dumb if i ask. thanks :P

'Noob' Basically means 'new'. (Pronounce it noo-b). It's usually used on websites that has members. New members would be called 'noobs'. For example, if you have just joined Advicenators then you could be called a 'noob'.

Is it common for girls to not be attracted to guys (age 14)? They all seem too immature in school and I'm not like those other girls that think every dude is "hot". I'm not concerned about this, I don't care If I have a bf or not but I was just wondering if this is common (and I'm not gay, I know that). It's a bit hard to explain in detail but in short, guys aren't intresting... At least not yet.

Yeah that's normal. I'm fourteen and I've had boyfriends and been attracted to guys but I know people who haven't. You're young, I envy you for not caring about guys yet. Seriously, once you start liking someone then you'll wish you never had in the first place. Don't worry about it, a guy will come along who interests you eventually.

In your opinion (meaning that if you tell me what you think you'll get a 5), do you think that people should miss out on church in order to do yardwork, study for an exam, play in a soccer tournament, etc? I just want to know what qualifies as an acceptable excuse for not going to church. What other good reasons are there for missing church? -no I'm not trying to avoid going to church-

Thanks!

God isn't going to punish you for missing church. Especially if you have to study or have an important sports game or something. I'm supposed to be a Christian, but I haven't been to church properly for months because I've been too tired with school. Now that's probably a terrible excuse but everyone seems to think it's okay so I doubt that studying for an exam will leave you bombing straight down into Hell.

Does anyone know any good emo punk rock bands or good songs? I will rate high.

Alkaline Trio. Their lyrics are fairly emo but they're not like Hawthorne Heights, they're considered punk rock. Good songs by them that you should check out are 'Dethbed', 'Sadie', 'Prevent This Tragedy', 'Another Innocent Girl', 'Emma', 'Every Thug Needs A Lady' and 'Queen Of Pain'. If you're interested in specific albums then I reccomend their two most recent albums, 'Good Mourning' (2003) and 'Crimson' (2005). Both are very good. They're worth listening to.

I want to walk into my babysitting job with the kds running up to me saying yay _____ here! How any tips? I'll rate you high for trying

Let them stay up just a little bit longer and play with them. Kids LOVE it when they have a babysitter that makes them feel grown up. However, don't go too far, you don't want to make their parents mad. You have to be fun with them but at the same time responsible.

I want to start babysitting, but i don't know anyone who is willing enough to let me.

I need some money to save up for something.
My Cousin is due in 2 weeks!! When her baby is older, should i help her?

-needs some money

When I started babysitting, I made some flyers on the computer, printed them out then posted them to houses in our street that I knew had kids in. Just put something like 'I am a responsible *insert age* old girl/boy willing to babysit your children. I am available from *insert hours available* and I charge *insert charge*. You can conact me on *insert number* or you can contact my parents on *insert number* if you would like a reference. (Parents employing new babysitters like this).

You should also ask your parents to reccomend you to any friends they have with children. People are more likely to employ you if they know your parents so that's always a good idea.

You should get a few calls and if you're good then they'll reccomend you.

You should definitely babysit the baby when it's older. You have to remember that when a baby is first born, they want to be with their mother's and it's not a good idea to babysit a very young baby. But once the baby is older then you should definitely talk to it's mother about babysitting.

hey everyone! im going to a Battle of the Bands tomorrow night and im kinda scared. i love rock but im afraid people are going to think im a "poser" because im preppy. you know those little scenesters. and idk if i should wear a Fender shirt because i dont want to get any weird looks...any suggestions? =] thanks!

You shouldn't worry about what people will think of you. You are who you are. I think it was Karen (a level II columnist on this site) who said 'I'm a prep who loves rock music'. I've always thought that was pretty cool.

If you really want to blend in and not draw attention to yourself, then wear jeans and a plain t-shirt of some sort.

Also, the majority of people at rock concerts don't care what people are wearing. They're there for music, not a fashion show.

what does it mean to pop someones cherry? or something like that..

To have your 'cherry popped' means to lose your virginity. So to 'pop someone's cherry' would mean to take someone's virginity. Females have a thin layer of skin inside their vagina, and when they have sex for the first time it usually breaks. Which is where the 'popped cherry' comes from. However, a lot of female's hymens break before they lose their virginity through use of tampons or heavy sport.
