To have your 'cherry popped' means to lose your virginity. So to 'pop someone's cherry' would mean to take someone's virginity. Females have a thin layer of skin inside their vagina, and when they have sex for the first time it usually breaks. Which is where the 'popped cherry' comes from. However, a lot of female's hymens break before they lose their virginity through use of tampons or heavy sport.

Basically to take someone's virginity.

Woman have a thin layer of skin in their vagina and when it 'pops' blood comes out, hence the cherry thing.

A lot of women bleed the first time that they have sex, that's where the popped cherry comes from. However, the phrase itself can be referring to a guy losing his virginity as well. A lot of the time if you have a site like myspace, the first person to leave you a comment will say something like "I popped your comment cherry". It basically means that they had your first comment and there will be more to come. People that say this think that a sexual reference for something completely nonsexual is funny. It doesn't mean that they want to have sex with you or that they think you're a virgin or anything like that, it's just a common thing that a lot of people say to be funny. There's no meaning behind it at all when used in that sense.

A "cherry" is another word for a hymen, which is a little flap of skin right in the opening of the vagina. When someone talks about "popping a cherry" they are referring to losing your virginity. This is because when you have sex your hymen tears. Things other than sex, like using tampons, can also cause it to tear, but when someone uses that particular phrase that's what they mean!
Hope that helps!
