I'm being a mouse for halloween, but I dont want to look like a little kid. I'm wearing a cute grey shirt and black plants with a tail and mouse ears. Is there any way I can make my costume cute and maybe a little sexy without being slutty?
Black eyeliner and stuff to make your eyes mousy (or at least dark lol) and high heels.
Have fun!
P.S. Oooh yes ugg boots would be great, especially if they are furry (even just around the edge) or dark!!
hello..i am 16, and turn 17 in february.. i was wondering peoples outlooks on me. i lost my virginity when i was 14 to the first 'highschool sweetheart'.. then i didnt have sex until this past summer. and once i did i was addicted. my sister said it probably runs through the family but im not sure. i have now 'hooked' up with 4 guys, including the highschool sweetheart. thing is, two guys were only when i was totally wasted so i dont know what to think. please tell me your outlook on my situation and why i might be 'addicted' to sex.
I don't think you are slutty unless you actually set out to be so (i.e. 'woohoo I am a slut I will wear no clothes and hump anything with a pulse'). Everyone makes mistakes, especially when they are wasted.
You're probably not 'addicted' to sex, you probably just like it a lot (maybe because you didn't have it for so long or you got lucky and found a guy who is really good in bed lmao!). Find yourself a good boyfriend and have sex with him as much as you want, that way you won't feel slutty as you won't be 'sleeping around'. Just don't go getting yourself a 'reputation', 'k?
I have an ELA report on theatre traditions due in 3 days. Does anyone have any information on this? I have looked in encyclopedias and on the internet and I have no notes that I can use. A 5 for anyone who can give 5 things.

Well, it all depends on what type of theatre traditions you are talking about. Different types of theatre? How theatre originated?
Here are a few points that might help you or that you can research further:
*Theatre goes right back to Ancient Greek times - think ampitheatres! Not only were the ancient greek tragedies played out here (think Sophocles), but spectator sports such as chariot racing for the Romans, lion fighting, bull fighting etc!
*Years and years ago (I'm talking hundreds), theatre was seen as good but it's actors as 'bad'. It was considered to be the 'house of sin' and only prostitutes generally worked in them.
*Around Shakespeare's time, theatre was only for the upper class. Many lower class could not afford to go. If they could, they stood on the floor. The upper classes occupied the balcony. Shakespeare revolutionised theatre by writing plays that both the upper and lower classes could appreciate - there were sometimes crude jokes or insults or storylines the lower class would like and understand (they were often uneducated) and subtle innuendoes that the upper class would 'get' and love because they thought themselves clever for getting.
*There are many different types of theatre, including Kabuki, a Japanese form where the theatres are mainly made up of one family and they are usually all male. The stage revolves, it's very abstract and masks are usually used. There's also Komedia Del'Arte (sp? It should come up properly if you google it), an Italian form of comedy acting which slapstick comedy has derived from.
*Then of course there are different types of acting such as mime, pantomime, abstract, narrative, musical, mask work...
*If you want to look at different theatre designs, look at Kabuki Theatre and amphitheatres.
I hope that helped a little...I'm no expert and it's not really clear what you actually have to write so I couldn't help much :)
What would you do if you hated life but then all of a sudden your "friends" decided to hate you. ALL OF THEM?
I would try and be open minded - I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that they hate me. I'd ask them what was wrong, and what I've done, or why they're treating me like this - at the same time being ready to accept an apology if I think it's enough, and not being determined ot hate them. It's so easy to hate someone because you believe they hate you and it's actually just a misunderstanding - I've done it myself. Don't fall into that trap, and try your best to resume these friendships before it's too late. Once you've made it up, it'll be a little weird, but you'll get over it soon enough as long as you don't expect it to return to normal straight away.
Pick out one or two friends you were closest to and try and make up with them first. They will value your friendship more than the others and be more likely to make up.
Trust me...I've been through this a couple of times myself. Sometimes it's just easier to make friends and get on with it, even if it is just a surface friendship to start with. After a while, things get normal again. I still have a few people who I wouldn't trust as far as I can throw them, but as for the rest of my friends...it's all good! Don't hesitate to email me at mitzirox1986@hotmail.com if you ever need to chat!!
I have a little fat around my stomach, and also I guess love handles? I'm not sure if that's what they are called. But I'm like skinny by my ribs, then it just bulges out on the sides near my belly button. It's so ugly, I hate it.
So I've decided to do something about it. But I have a question. I've just started doing 100 crunches per night, and the thing where you hold your legs about 6 inches off the floor for a minute (every night). I'm just wondering, do these exercises just help build muscle, or will it also help me lose my extra 'tummy' fat?
If this isn't going to help me lose the fat, can you tell me a simple, at-home, exercise that WILL reduce the fat & needs no equipment? Thanks!
The best thing to do is to try and cut out fatty foods. Check on crisp packets and stuff to see if it has lots of saturated fat or 'monounsaturates'. You'll want to look around and try and find the crisps, bread, cereal etc etc etc with the least amount of fat in. That'll help you a lot! It'll stop the fat getting worse and you might even lose a bit of weight.
Another way is to speed up your metabolism. You can do this by excersizing more, drinking a glass of VERY cold water half an hour before you eat (your metabolism has to speed up to make your body warm again), avoiding sitting against radiators and stuff as lots of heat slows your metabolism down, and eating five small meals a day instead of three big ones. Watch that you stop eating when you're full - we tend to over-eat in the colder weather!
As for excersizes, you want to do sit-ups, crunches and try yoga as it gives you a better posture - you stand better and tuck your tummy in naturally, stuff like that. It also helps with losing weight.
The thing is, you can't REALLY target one area...excersize, wherever it is, makes you lose weight all over or basically wherever the weight WANTS to disappear from (when I got flu and lost loads of weight, I lost it mainly off my arms...which really wasn't helpful as they're skinny already lol!). However, if you do it well, it will also tone your problem areas.
Swimming is always good as it uses every muscle in your body! Swim whenever you can. Dance around the house too - you don't have to be doing loads of weights and stuff for it to be excersize! Excersize is just movement :)
Spend less time in front of the TV - it's been proven that you burn more calories reading, even if it is only a magazine!
Sleep for at least eight hours a night - if you sleep a lot and you still feel sluggish, you've slept too much. If you just cannot get up int he morning, you aren't sleeping enough. Try and balance the two extremes - you'll look healthier and burn more fat!
Finally, drink LOTS of water. Don't drink too much straight away because you'll feel sick and bloated, but build up. Drinks add loads of hidden calories to your diet, and water is calorie free. It also helps flush away fat and toxins :)
I'm setting up a campaign for people to see whats the difference (of thoughts/actions)in people that smoke and do not. If you are a smoker or a non-smoker, please answer these questions in which category you fit in. Oh, and please tell me if you are a smoker or a non-smoker. I'm doing this so I can hellp people with certain things. I can't ask anyone around because I don't speak thier language.
Smokers:
1. How do you feel if you don't smoke for a long period of time?
2.What has influenced you to smoke?
3. Have you noticed any differences since you began smoking?
4. About how many ciggarets do you smoke in 1 day?
5. Did you feel like you have upset anyone when you first started?
Non-smokers
1. How do you feel about people who smoke?
2. Would you ever consider to smoke? Why?
3. What is your reason not to smoke?
4. In your opinion, why is smoking bad for you?
5. What would your advice be if a smoker wants to quit?
Thanks in advance, I hope you guys don't mind.
Non-smoker
1) I think smoking is effectively slow suicide. I think they are ignorant, silly, and simply pathetic. However, if they want to kill themselves, that's up to them. Just keep the smoke away from me! I HATE smokers because they take up all the places on organ donor lists and stuff - have you got any idea about how many INNOCENT non-smoking people DIE waiting for a heart transplant because the smokers are taking up the list?? If you ask me they have no right to be on that list. If they can afford cigarrettes they can afford private care!
2) No I would never consider smoking because not only does it KILL you, it is disgusting, smelly, pathetic and expensive.
3) I don't smoke because I am not stupid enough to, because I have asthma and it would kill me pretty much instantly anyway, and because I actually have morals.
4) Hmm, there are a hundred and one reasons where do I start?! What ISN'T bad about smoking?! Once you are addicted (which doesn't happen straight away like people lead you to believe, so why on EARTH people continue smoking I'll never know!), your whole life becomes dependant on a silly little white stick. I hardly call that freedom. Smoking is like taking drugs - it should be illegal. It KILLS you. It damages your baby if you're pregnant. It gives you bad breath. It gives you yellow teeth and fingers. You STINK. And then you die. And smokers have the audacity to expect sympathy, it's ridiculous!
5) 'Good for you! Buy some nicotene patches and gum, and some mints as well, and don't stop trying! Of course it's hard; you're addicted, so don't expect it to be easy. But you can do it!'
Sorry this was so long, I have some very strong opinions on it!! Feel free to cut out sections of my rambles to make it easier for you if you want lol.
yea okay were doing this dead person project. and we have to make tombstones. anyway. it has to be like a foot tall. and i don't know what to make it out of? and it has to be 3D and be able to stand..please helpp asap!!
Try cereal boxes stuck together (with masking tape would be good) and then papier mache it to make it strong. You could even make a basic wooden frame for it.
Brutus is the perfect example of Aristotle’s tragic hero. He holds high rank in society as Caesar’s best friend. Not only is he known for his social position, but also as the most honorable man in Rome. However, his honor also becomes his tragic flaw. It clouds his judgement and eventually leads to his downfall.
how can i close that intro or make it better?
Well, for me to give you a GOOD answer, you'd have to tell me what your essay topic is!!
You never really need to 'close' an introduction. The best thing is to lead from the intro into the essay - so make the last point of your intro the first point of your essay. E.G. '...they have a good reputation because their chocolate is really tasty.
It is this tasty chocolate that has lead to their monopoly on the market. A monopoly is when...' etc etc etc.
I think your intro sounds very good as it is...just remember to relate it DIRECTLY to your topic/question - send it to my inbox for me to give you more help on this - and try and aim it at someone who has never read the play or studied the topic you are writing this essay on. For example, add 'Brutus of the Shakespeare play Julius Caesar' etc etc.
If you need more help, on this or any other part of your essay, just give me a yell...I did study Julius Caesar but it was about three years ago now so I might not be all that great :P
Today I had an interview with Old Navy. It went pretty well and the manager said he would send someone to show me around the store to see if I'll be comfortable working there in a few days and then take me to his supervisor who will see if I'm ok for the job and then I'll be hired.
So I have a few questions that I didn't ask (I didn't want to be too upfront too quickly):
1. Some of my friends tell me that Old Navy has a reputation for treating their employees badly. Is this true?
2. So I asked the manager about the dress code and he told me that everything that is "Old Navy-ish" meaning jeans or anything you could buy at Old Navy (not neccesarily -from- Old Navy) and is appropriate (no mid-riffs et cetera) goes. So for the walk-through, my friends told me I should wear nice jeans and a dressier top instead of formal pants or such.
3. In British Columbia, the minimum wage for the first 500 hours that someone works is $6.00 (which is what I wrote on my application form) and then $8.00 after. Some stores start paying $8.00 immediately. Does anyone know what the starting pay for Sales Associates are at Old Navy?
4. He asked me if I wanted to work the floor or the cashier. I told him anywhere where I could interact with people. I thought that would mean the floor but my friends say that you interact more at the cashier and the floor is just cleaning up and stuff. But I don't really think the cashier is for me, I would rather be active and doing stuff. In your opinion, which one is less stressful/easier/more interactive during the Christmas season, the floor or the cashier?
5. How are the customers at Old Navy? Some people tell me that everyone there is rude and messy but some say it really varies. What do you think?
I don't do this a lot but this is a really tedious question so anyone who answers will be rated a |5| :) Thanks for your help.
I'm afraid I really don't know much about Old Navy, but I do know someone online who went to work there and she said they were really nice. On the other hand, I know a guy who thought they were horrible! Like everyone else said, it depends on where you go and your own attitude. Just try and be nice and if they're nice back, good! If not, stuff them.
how can you loose wight without taking a pill..and it is easy and it is kinda short but you do it a lot and it works goood.. ok im 13 and my wight is 195 and im 5'6 and i lift wights and stuff but the doc says that muscle ways more than fat but i wanna no how to loose me belly fat and leg fat quick and fun... sooo plzz help me with wat kind of exersises and suggestings that you have to tell me..thank you
i will rank high if you help me out here :)
Heya,
Try rollerskating, sit-ups, jogging or running while listening to your iPod/MP3 and skipping. Also try drinking a really, REALLY cold glass of water half an hour before you eat (it has to be half an hour or you might feel sick) to speed up your metabolism, the thing that digests your food. The faster your metabolism is, the skinnier you are.
If you want to lose weight, don't lift weights. That makes muscles, which weigh more than fat...you won't look any slimmer either. Once you have lost weight you might want to lift some weights to tone yourself up a bit, but until then...stick to basic excersizes.
Don't expect it to go too quickly either...you won't see a change immediately because you'll always be looking for one, but after a while everyone around you will notice it even if you don't!
i want to make my house scary this year for halloween. i dont want it to look cheesy cause thats gay. but i am on a budget. so if anyone has ideas on what i could make that would be scary and how to make it that would be great. its for my yard, any projections that i could do, and props that look scary or anything. just start giving me ideas if you can. i will rate 5 if its really creative and easy to make. thanks.
Hiya,
I'm trying to do the same and it's really difficult!! However, I have found a couple of things that seem to work really well:
Dead leaves. Collect them and scatter them about...just in your window if you're not allowed them in the house. They're extra cool outside especially if it's windy because they blow at people and no-one can actually see what's hitting them!
Talking doormats. I don't know if you have these stores where you are, but you should be able to find these mats - Wilkinsons and Woolworths sell them in England. Basically, someone steps on the doormat and the mat goes 'wooo!'. Yes, the noise is cheesey but it's always a good laugh and usually at leats shocks people!
Cauldrons. Especially if you can get some dry ice and put it in the cauldron so it looks like steam is coming out. If you can't get dry ice, anything hot and steaming will do. Hot water will work best as it's easy to replace. You might have to put a candle behind it or something though to make the steam show up.
Black lightbulbs - very cool light effect and only cost £1 each!! And don't put any other lights on.
Streamers always look good, esp. orange and black ones.
If you can get some chains, that would be cool too. Do you know what glow-bracelets are? I bought a bunch of those last year and joined them together in a chain and then hung it on the mirror so it was reflected. They looked really cool. Some glow sticks in a pot or something would look cool too if you can't get the bracelets.
Try some dead sticks in vases here and there so it looks like everything has died.
You can buy special black rippable cloth for pretty cheap now too. You just rip holes in it so it looks all tattered and old and then use it as a backdrop in the window or as a door curtain.
I bought a revolving light from Woolworths...it's like a dome over a lightbulb that casts shadows on the walls or ceiling and revolves so that they move. You might not be able to get your hands on one, but creepy cut outs of dead trees or the moon put over a torch would work OK.
Check out Birthdays and Clintons and Partners shops too if you have those. Don't pass a shop by because it looks cheesey - sometimes you can find a few good things even in cheesey shops. It's just a question of working out what goes where - plan it! - and accepting that, on a budget, you can't have the scariest house the in world but it can still be cool!!
Don't forget the pumpkin!! You can get all sorts of designs to print off the internet and carve into them now. You can do a scary face...spider web...I've seen a witch carved into one.
If you can get your hands on any creepy-looking portrait (print off the internet?) that'll be cool too - you always feel like they're watching you!!
You know how people who kill deer and stuff cut off their heads and hang them on plaques on the wall? Well this year I found a full-head (i.e. it has a back and a front not just a front and elastic) werewolf mask that looks pretty scary and realistic, and I'm making one of those plaques (they look kinda like sheilds or coats of arms) out of card and hanging them up on my wall!
Have fun, and remember not to try too hard or it'll look over-done!
if u were going to have sex but were a condom how could u still get pregnant of a disease?
If you were a condom you couldn't get pregnant because condoms do not get pregnant lmao. And you cannot get pregnant 'of a disease'.
But to answer your question seriously, based on what I THINK you mean, there is a small chance of getting pregnant even while wearing a condom, especially if it splits, and a chance of getting an STD so it's always safer to take the pill aswell.
If you don't know this you really shouldn't be having sex...
what are some pretty, and uncommon names? please dont say things like, jessica, jennifer, katherine, there pretty but they are all to common! thanks for the help! i rate to 5's :)

Ok well me and my friends hang out in a group of four. None of us can buy costumes anymore, so we need a good Halloween costume for four people. Can you give me some ideas? We need all the time we can get to put together stuff. We have makeup, but we don't know what to use it for, we have normal clothes in the closet, old Halloween costume parts, and maybe some acsessories. Please help.
Do something that involves or four people or two pairs - e.g. a pair could be a cat and a witch on a broom. You could all have a 'theme' - e.g. horror movie characters and be Frankenstein, Dracula, Scream, whatever.
A great idea for make-up is using it like normal, just a bit more excessively. For example, I'm an angel this year, so I'm using silver eyeshadow but using it as eyeliner too, and LOADS of mascara. You could do this with red, or black or green, or just extend the normal range of your eyeshadow or eyeliner and make it cover more of your eye. Try cool coloured mascara too, like green or purple or something that matches your costume.
You could go as the Addams family - there were four main people in that, or the Wizard of Oz characters (either Dorothy, Tin Man, Lion and Scarecrow or the four witches), different superheroes (and funny ones too like BananaMan if you don't want to be serious), angels and devils, random fast food (someone went dressed up as a water bottle once lol!), bowling pins and ball, the different stages of Michael Jackon (weird but so funny!), LOTR characters or other movie people, circus performers, barbies (all have the same hair and makeup and then be teacher barbie, malibu barbie (although that could be a little cold lol) etc)...etc etc etc!
And you can always cut up old clothes to make better costumes, and buy coloured hair spray if you want to change the colour of your hair!
I have been looking sense May at least three job a day, over half are done on the Internet, because that is the way the employer wants it done, I get nowhere.
Don't search for a job on the internet. They're often not reliable, don't have proper contracts, misleading etc. Go to your nearest town centre - it'll have at least 30 shops, and some of those have to be looking for employers. Even if you're only cleaning or something, it's a start and it's some money. Trust me, you'll do better writing letters or in person than over the internet. Most respectable companies either don't ask you to apply for a job vacancy over the internet or leave that option open only because it's easier for you. It shows more initiative and desire to actually go into the store/building; and that way you are more likely to get a job in the branch near you too.
I have applied for at least 50 jobs, I have got refused or no response at all. I need advice, what am i doing wrong?
Exaggerating is most likely your problem!! No offence but I highly doubt you will have been refused from or have even applied to 50 jobs. Don't worry though, we all exaggerate. Just make sure you don't do it on your CV!
When you apply for a job, do a cover letter and a CV. Your cover letter should briefly say who you are, what job you're applying for, why you'd be good for the job etc. You can get templates for CVs online with help tips on writing them. Mmake sure your spelling and grammar is correct; that's a huge thing.
If you're under 16 or 18, it could simply be your age. You're not allowed to work in certain places until you're over those ages. Try applying for waitressing, working in a hairdressers etc if you're under 16 and still in school.
Follow up a no response of two weeks or longer with another letter or phone call, or even pop in and see what's going on. Don't be pushy, and don't follow up more than once or you'll look arrogant, desperate and annoying; but going once to check shows you care about the job.
Play up your strengths on your CV. If you're applying to be a waitress, say P.E. at school gave you excellent balance, or your younger siblings have given you enough patience to deal with annoyed customers, anything like that.
Finally, try and be unique! I know someone who applied for a job in a nursery and she actually put her CV and letter inside a balloon which they had to pop to get it out. This isn't always a good idea, for example if you're applying to be a lawyer lol!!, but if you think your future boss may have a sense of humour, and it's appropriate to the job, you might as well try!
hey my hair's brown, straight, and highlited. i ALWAYS wear it down because i don't know what else to do with it. does anyone know any good hairstyles that would look attractive in front of boys? please help! also, my hair islayered, and it's about 1 and a half inches below my shoulders. a lot of people's hair just fall in to place when they put it up, but mine doesn't for some reason. it just sticks straight out. i don't know why, because it's not frizzy or anything, it's just smooth and soft.
i rate high for good answers!
Well, there's no style that'll definately look good in front of boys. All girls look different and all boys like different things!!
Try out some dif styles and see which suits you best. You could try a french plait/braid, or two little plaits/braids at the side. Try some low bunches (i.e. put the hair tie below your ear), a lose ponytail, a bun...
Also try tying your hair at the base of your neck, twist it a couple of times and then get a big clip (the ones that are like bulldog clips but for hair lmao), put your ponytail up to the back of your head and clip it there. Let a little bit of the hair stick out at the top so you have a kind of mini-fountain. That's hard to describe but hopefully you know what I mean!!
You could also just take your fringe back if it's long enough and tie it at the back. If your layers make all this totally impossible, wait for them to grow out a bit, or just use some pretty ribbons, clips or headbands.
Does anybody know some really good songs that they like? Im trying to make a list of really good songs But i cant really think of any. If you have any songs, doesnt matter what type or anything like that! Thank you!
Check out James Blunt (You're Beautiful, Goodbye My Lover, Wisemen), KT Tunstall (Other Side of the World, Universe & U, Suddenly I See, Big Black Horse and the Cherry Tree), Joss Stone (You Had Me, Sleep Like A Child, Super Duper Love), Delta Goodrem (Will You Fall For Me? Innocent Eyes, Born to Try, Be Strong), Lucie Silvas (Forget Me Not, Last Man Standing), The Corrs (Somebody for Someone, Rain, Breathless, So Young, Runaway), Kelly Clarkson (Low, Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, A Moment Like This)... :)
I can write poems tell me what you think of this one
Alone
alone is where no one is there
you try to see but blind by glare
glare of your own soul and glare of your heart and then you realize that thers no start
you have no body or no friends you
relize now this might be the end u
nless you change whats inside t
his might be how you die
try to run but theres no escape
try to hide but you still wont wake
the darkness is everywhere
you cant see
blinded by you
and blinded by me
It's really good!! It's got some amazing meaning behind it and some really powerful words in it. Although I would suggest using spell check or something; at least using proper words ('you' and 'u') or your poems won't be taken seriously by people such as publishers. Just a tip!
does anone know if walking backwards helps your butt get smaller? if it does how often and how long. no links plz
♥
Nope, it doesn't make it smaller but it DOES tone it up. I've tried it and it does work, honest!! It won't work much by itself but with other excersize...yep. Do it whenever you would walk - you'll burn more calories walking backwards anyway as it involves more movement and more concentration.
