Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. I googled it, the answer is no. I liked the idea of pressure (I went to a website and they showed how pressure would work) but "no" appears to be the correct answer.

My tonsils are getting red and they have like white specks on them. It's really gross. Is this strep throat?

Don't listen to the people who felt the need to diagnos your possible illness. None of us here are doctors, and even if we are we can't tell you what you do or do not have without a proper exam. You NEED to see a doctor, not ask advice columnists.

Are those symptoms of strep - yes, they're also symptoms of many other sicknesses and nonsicknesses. (Yes, I'm at a lack of knoweledge when it comes to the proper term.)

So, if you want to know what is or is not wrong with you - See a doctor, don't ask a bunch of advice columnists.

Is urine suppost to be yellow? Or is it better if it's clear?

The darker it is, the worse it is. You want it to be a pale yellow or clear color. If it's dark it means you're dehydrated and if it has any color other than yellow to it - well, you should probably see a doctor.

I'm going out with a guy who pretty much used to be one of my best friends. Whenever he used to say something that'd crack me up, sometimes I'd say "ha, I love you, you're too funny." Well, that was when we were just friends.

We've only been going out a couple of days, but he's already telling me he actually loves me. I know I don't love him back just yet, so I don't want to lie to him. And I've tried to explain that to him, and he said he'll say it anyways. I just always makes me feel awkward when he does, so what should I say back?

I know that this will probably sound weird to him, but you can say "aww, thanks" and give him a big smile and/or a kiss. (Like a peck on the cheeks or lips.) I know that sounds really lame to say and it can be a smack in the face to someone, but seeing that you already told him that you don't love him back just yet and that you don't want to lie to him, he should understand. You're grateful for his love, but you haven't been with him long enough to truly love him. If you dont' think he undertsood when you explained it to him you can try doing that one more time. But all in all, if you don't want to lie there isn't much more you can say.

So whenever I'm about to kiss a guy, I get a little voice in my head that's all, "NO, what if he thinks you're a bad kisser?!"

I've kissed people before, and it was fine, so I don't know what the problem is. Just sometimes I stop myself because of that stupid fear even I WANT to kiss that person.

Do you think this a legitamate worry? Even if a girl isn't the best kisser in the world will a guy care that much? How can I stop being so paranoid?

It shouldn't be anything to worry about, it's just nerves. Just kiss and have fun. Oh, and trust me, if they guy doesn't like what you're doing normally he'll speak up. I've had plenty of guys tell me that they really like something or that they'd prefer me do it differently. It's how you learn. Every person is different with what they like anyway so something one guy likes another won't. Just have fun and keep on practicing. Kissing is fun, so try not to worry and to just enjoy it. =D

This isn't what the site is for, but because I'm in a creative writing class I couldn't help but pass up the opporutnity to read someone else's work. I've had a long day and am kind of tired, so I only read a little bit. Barely past after she meets the boy and we find out her articulation sucks. But anyway, what I've read so far is okay. If you don't mind I'd like to finish reading it tomorrow that was I'll be more focused on your story rather than the other million things running through my head. I'm going to bookmark the link to it, so don't delete it or anything. Unfortunately though, due to the fact that I'm a moderator and this is not the type of question that belongs on this site- I'm going to have to delete it. But if you really want some critiquing I can bring it to school with me and have friends read it and get back to you.

Is a Full License the same as a Provisional License in the state of New Jersey? I want to know if im allowed to drive out of state with a New Jersey Provisional License, for example New York.

It kind of depends. I'm from NY, but I live in NC. I've been living here since the 4th grade I think. There's a point to my story. Here in NC I can get my permit at 15 and my license at 16. When I received my permit I was allowed to drive in NC, but not NY when I went to visit relatives. Reason being that in NY the driving age is 16 to get a permit. Sooo, if you're 16 and have any type of driving license, you should be able to drive in NY. Then again, with permits, IDK if those are only meant for in-state, like if I were to have a NY permit driving in NC, I don't know if that's allowed. You should probably check with your parents or your local DMV should be able to answer that. Just go up (or call) with your question. I know I'm probably not of much use, but I hope I at least explained why you would/would not be able to drive.

my school year is stuck on saying "grad student 06" when i'm really a freshman. i changed it to class year 2010. is this right?

Yeah, I'm a junior so I graduate in '08. My brother is a freshman and he graduates in '10. Sooo, IDK why your school year is stuck on saying "grad studenr '06" when the class of '06 has already graduated, but you'll graduate in '10 (hopefully)

do you guys prefer myspace or facebook better. I have a myspace, but I always hear people talking about facebook, but i think its stupid to be addicted to 2 websites you know (not litterally addicted, but have to login everyday)

I'll start of saying that I have one of each. I had the myspace first but then I made myself a facebook when I learned that it was finally open to High School students.
I agree with the user who said that myspace is starting to fall apart. Accounts are being hacked and there are many errors. Tom (the creator) made a very popular site. I still log in just about every day. I enjoy sending and receiving comments and messages. I enjoy posting bulletins too (at least when I'm bored).
For me, myspace is more of a boredom site. I tend to do what I do on myspace due to extreme boredom. When I'm on facebook it's because I want to see what's going on. The only negative parts of facebook in my opinion are that not as many high school kids know about it yet because it was originally for college students/graduates only.
Other aspects of facebook I find negative I also find positive for their safety featurs - they're just annoying for people on the site. Such as having to be invited before making an account (at least for high schoolers) Not being able to see the facebook of those not on your friends list (or not in your network). That's a good thing, but it's also annoying. I'd rather that be a myspace type of thing where you can choose if you want it shown or not.

I love my myspace, but I'm starting to get tired of the glitches and other annoyances. Tom is doing is best to keep it a popular site, but sometimes websites are just fads. It may get super popular sometime down the road, but it's starting to lose its popularity. I enjoy my facebook although I don't use it as much. Facebook is the type of site where you don't have to go on everyday to see what's going on with people. I'm sure if it becomes more popular that won't be the case, but for now it is.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is that I prefer Facebook but I use my myspace more. Kind of contradicting I suppose, but it's true.

Some people just think it looks cute. There's no true meaning for it. Possibly an emphasis on the word and? But it's really just because for some reason they think it looks good.

I am sick and i hurt really bad but i dont think it's the cold or the flu. I have really bad congustion and my lungs are filled with dark green mucus and i have an occational cough were i cough up the stuf in my lungs.I have a headache and i have a painful lump under my right ear. I cant figure it out.

This is something you should take up with your parents. Even if there were doctors on this site they are not qualified to tell you anything without giving you a proper exam. You should really see a doctor to know what's going on with you.

As others have said, some guys enjoy the taste of lipgloss. I wouldn't reccomend putting it on right before you're going to kiss a guy because then it's really sticky and slippery. It's okay to put it on an before a date and if at the end of the night you end up kissing -great. The good thing about that is that it will be dry and it will making kissing less slippery which is a positive thing. Soo yes, some guys like lipgloss when kissing, but not to the point of slipperyness (I know, it's not a word).

I don't brush my teeth as often as I am supposed to and 2 seconds ago I pulled my bottom lip down to expose my gum and on the very bottom (I'm guessing it's where the gum meets the lip tissue or something) there is a thick line of a darker color from one side of my teeth to the other. This freaked me out so I checked the top as well, and sure enough, same thing. I dont know how long it has been there but does anyone else have this on thier gums? Should I consult my dentist? I'm scared it might be gingivitis! Help!

You're probably right, but also possibly wrong. You won't know until you talk to your dentist and he/she tells you. So call the dentist, ask him/her and possibly set up an appointment.

I got an iPod nano.. I added a whole bunch of songs but now i want to add more. If I add more will it delete any current songs on it and in the future can i delete every song on there? thanksss.

Nope, it won't delete your current songs. Every time you put more songs onto your ipod you hook it up to the computer, it deletes all of the songs from your ipod and it readds them all within a few minutes. No, if you add more it won't delete any songs on it and in the future you can delete whatever songs you want. I think you have to delete them individually, but yes, you'll be able to delete songs.

does anybody know where i can find a nice ipod video case preff. under 20 -25 dollars? my ipod is black btw if that matters and im a 13/f im looking with one that has an cover for the screen but doesnt have a cover on the little spinny thing lol thanks

Circuit City has them, but they're probably more expensive at places like that. I got mine at Wal-Mart ( I have a nano, but they had plenty for ipod video) Also, mine didn't come with the cover for the screen, but it came with something to put over the screen so it won't get scratched and it works just as well. My preferences were the same as yours and I thought mine had a screen cover. I'm not really sure how you're able to tell, but I'm sure if it doesn't come with a screen cover it will come with the same thing mine came with which is just as good in my opinion.

my little sister Dana is turning 13 early next month and we don't know how to celebrate it but we want it to be special. she'd do a sleepover but our mom won't allow it. she's thinking of a party but she dosen't know what theme to use. what do you guys suggest? please help. thanks in advanced.

Her and some friends could go bowling, ice skating, roller skating, to the movies (your families treat), we have this place called Nascar Speedpark where they offer laser tag, racing (IDK what it's called), they have an arcade type of place with a BUNCH of games, and they offer food, tokens, and tickets for the racing in a party plan. Do you have any places sort of like that? We actually did that for my friends sweet 16 and it was LOADS of fun. We also have a place called Dave and Busters where it has the arcade type of thing and a bowling alley and a restaurant. Then after the party (if it's on your sisters birthday) or on her actual birthday your immediate family (parents/siblins, possibly grandparents) can all go out to your sisters favorite restaurant. That's what my family does every year on birthdays. The birthday person picks a restaurant and everyone has to go and have a good time.

how long do theytake to charge

I know it says that take about 4 hours but that's only if it dies on you and you want to get it up to 100% charged. My battery picture usually turns red before I bother charging it (unless I'm adding music to it, then I let it charge while I do so). But it usually only takes mine about 3ish hours give or take. I've had my ipod for 2-3 months, but it had just come out when I got it. I only have a 2gb though, if you have a 4gb then it may take longer (I'm not sure).

I have a boil just under my left knee. It showed up a few days ago and itches really bad, but when I scratch it it hurts like a mother, so I've been trying to keep from scratching even though the itching is driving me crazy. How should I treat it? Should I leave it alone or wash it a lot or what? The last time I had I boil I was 2 and my mom doesn't remember how she took care of it.

I usually HATE questions like this on advicenators so I'm really sorry! But, this is driving me INSANE. Yes, I've googled it...plenty of times, changed my wording, etc--many different results, but not the one I want. I was in Forever 21 yesterday, and this song came on. It was like "..why don't they understand..." and the voice was kind of like Hilary Duff. Weird thing is, I googled it, and nothing matched up. Can anyone please help me before I lose my mind over this song?

I would need more lyrics. Since I don't know what song you're talking about (though thanks, I now know the genre is probably pop since you heard it in Forever 21). My problem is I could probably find a bunch of songs that have that lyric in it, but I wouldn't be sure which one is right because I don't have any more options. So my suggestion is not to just search google. And even if that's why you search make sure you type lyrics into the google search. But also some other sites you can try to search are www.lyricsondemand.com www.azlyrics.com www.lyrics.com

Find lyric sites (or even pop lyric sites) and search, it'd be easier for you to find it because once you see it you'll recognize it, whereas with other columnists that may be harder. I'm sorry I'm not of much help, I just hate seeing unanswered questions.
