When you open the library in Limewire, see the button at the bottom [or middle] that says explore? Click that. It will open the folder where all your music is. Select all the music you want, either at once or individually, then right click, open with, and choose iTunes. The songs should show up on the library in iTunes. If you'd like, you can cosolidate the library in iTunes, which can be done under Advanced tab on the iTunes tool bar. What that does is it saves the music under a specific iTunes folder, that will not however automatically put songs from Limewire to iTunes, that you must do on your own. Hope that helped and good luck.

Q: well, i wasnt sure wat to put this category under but w/e. it kind of does have to do with sports. the thing is, that my friends row. my best friend and these two guys i noe go to rowing. and i go to an all girls school so its really fun for me to do those things after school because i get to hang out with people i know outside of school on more days other than the weekend. but the thing is, that i also do ballet. i do ballet for two hours a day on monday's and wednesday's. but, people think thats like weak kind of. u noe, they think that because i dont do sports like the ones their doing, that im not really strong. but, for ballet, u have to be really strong. its not easy. you have to have a lot of strength, especially in your legs and in your calves. so, anyways, today this girl thats one of my best friends asked us (people at school) to go to rowing with her one day. and she seemed like she really really wanted us to go. so i told her that i would go with her and she told me that she didnt think i had the arm strength to do it. i was like EXCUSEMY! why does everybody think that i'm so weak. IM NOT! im actually really strong. im 4"11 and 14 years old, but im REALLy strong for such a little person. what should i do? how could i show everyone that im not a wimp? the thing is, that my mom has always wanted me to do "girly sports" which pretty much means like cross country, soccor, ballet (dancing is a sport!) and i go to the gym. i mean, like, i hav a busy scheduale. but, i really want to show everybody that i can row also! any ideas? just to show prove people wrong about body strength!

yes yes yes and yes. I'm a rower. when i saw this question i was like off the walls. sorry...
Ok well I'll tell you right now, rowing is more of a sport were 80% of the power you use comes from your legs, not your arms, contrary to popular belief. So yes, arms do play a role, but not even half of that as leg power does. Along with that is cardiovascular system, like that helps a lot more than muscle in some cases, especially your size [no offence].
Hmm have you ever seen an ergometer? If not check it out at www.concept2.com Its an indoor rowing machine, which is most commonly used around the world. There are different models, and that is a newer one so you might see the older model which is black. If she can teach you how to get the technique right, or even learn how online, find one if you can, and row on the machine. Set the machine to the standard 2000 meter test, which tests endurance, strength, and will power - its all a mind game.
So yeah, if you can't get out to actually row with her, try it on the machine. If you think a 2K [2000 meters] is too much, then try 500 meters instead.
(Sorry this answer is long, but I never get to answer a rowing question.) But yeah, I know what you mean about being looked at as not a sport, ballet that is. Ive played many sports, and none are easy, and actually find crew [rowing] to be the most difficult mentally and physically. So yes, by doing a 2K or 500 meter sprint, that can definatley show for your strength.
Incase you were wondering: for the 2K, start off strong for a minute, then pace yourself until the end, don't go all out right away, then just give it all you got when you have 250 meters left.
With the 500M sprint, its what it is, a sprint for 500 meters, which my lowest ever was a minute and 35 seconds. I can't say what you should shoot for, maybe under two minutes.
Anyways hoped that helped and good luck, drop 1 in my inbox if you have any questions and let me know how it goes.

First off thanks for droppin it in my inbox, feel free to do so again.
Reminds me of the 6th Harry Potter book, which no offence, if you've read it, you will know what I mean. If you havn't thats ok, but I won't give it away incase you want to find out on your own. Hmm this is a tough situation. Have you talked to the girl, as in do you know if she would consider you a friend or more than a friend? Ask her how she see's you as, whether as a good friend, a brother, more than just a friend, etc, then go from there. Try not to let on that you might be liking her, because it could just be a temporary thing that, when acted upon irrationally, can have permanent consequences. So in other words, I would say you would first need to really sort out your feelings, to find out if it is that you really do love her or if it is just a mere infatuation, spur of the moment thing, or just because she is with other guys.
If it seems to you that you really do love her, then...try not to act too quickly. You've known her all your life, so how do you think she would react to something like that? Would it upset her, or would it make her feel appreciated? That part is up to you to find out, and I think the best way would be to just ask her how she would see you, then you could determine your approach. Again, not wanting to risk breaking your friendship with her and her brother is the smart thing to think of and do. Just because you love her [I know, theres always the 'what if she doesn't love me back' idea in the back of your head], it doesn't necessarily mean that you need to act upon it. What I mean is that it doesn't mean that you need to ask her out. You can let her know that, of course, but still being her friend is perfectly fine. In fact, you can even go from there to build a stronger friendship, whether is the older brother/younger sister type, or more than just friends type - either way I'm sure you'll win her heart over in friendship.
I think you should definatley tell her first, instead of her brother. If you her brother, he might immediatley take it the wrong way, and present it the wrong way to his sister, and have things turn into one huge mess, doing damage to your friendship with them. So tell her first, and present it to her in way where...you aren't asking for anything in return, simply just to let her know, and that you'd want to know what she thinks about it, whether good or bad. If its bad, then ask her to keep it between the two of you. If good, then see what you can do to have things go well between the two of you so that you can both develop a stronger relationship and then tell her brother about it.
Well I hope that helped, and good luck - sounds like a tough one. Let me know how it goes, and feel free to ask me about anything you weren't sure of.

I find music to pick me up and inspire me, usually jazz or classical pieces, songs with out words. Another good inspiration is movies, any kind of movies. Of course, there is my main motivation, which is love. Wether or not you find it or not, keep it or lose it, you can write about it and its limitless only fuels your creativity to the greatest goal which man can aspire to...in other words, go ahead and write anything and everything about it. Oh yeah, try reading your old poems, that might give you the spark you need. Hope that helped and good luck.

Q: I am 20, and I am dealing with relationship problems with 2 guys. One guy I can't seem to start a romantic relationship with, (I'll call him "Bob") and the other I suspect likes me and is very jealous of the other guy (I'll call this guy "Jim") I flirt around and am often affectionate towards Bob, and Jim seems to get angry and even a little hostile towards Bob. Jim also seems to try to get my attention when I am interacting with Bob. I've stopped flirting with Bob, but I still sense hostility from Jim. Is he jealous? And what should I do?
Thanks!

It sounds like he could be jealous, or feels that you are giving too much attention to Bob, and Jim might feel left out because of that. Nobody wants to feel left out of anything. You need to find it in yourself to see which one of them means more to you as a friend or more than just a friend, and let both of them know that. Why? So that both of them don't try to go after you at the same time, because chances are it doesn't make you feel too great, and either one or both of them might get hurt. So tell them what you just wrote there, together at the same time. If you simply just want to be friends with both, then say so. If you think Jim might like you, then go up to him and straight out ask him - nothing wrong with doing that.
So anyways...yeah just let them both know what you just wrote and how you feel about each of them. Try not to let Jim think you are going only for him and Bob think you are going only for him - that could confuse both of them and might make them want to do things they shouldn't and might hurt you. Hope that helped and good luck.

Don't give up hope. It might just be that they didn't want to be there that certain night or thought that the sleep over and your party might be too much. It could also be that they put priority to some of their friends over you. Does that mean that they don't care or aren't your friends? Not exactly, they might have not felt up to it. I say you should wait a bit and see what happens. Invite them to the movies or your house or anything like that and see their reaction. Try and go to get togethers or partys that your friends plan and see if everyone is there.
So yeah, it could just be they weren't feeling up to it. Before you make a conclusion, get more...I guess you could say 'evidence'. If you still feel they are turning on you, then thats ok. Really, I don't mean to sound harsh or mean in any way, but you usually don't keep the same friends through elementary school and high school and beyond, everyone goes different ways. Its ok if thats the situation here, don't be so hard on yourself. Hope that helped and good luck.

Q: First of all I'm a 14 year old male. I would like to know if this girl likes me at all. Here's why I think she does: Everyday when I hang out with some of my friends, if we pass by her, for example at a football game, she'll only say Hi to me and she'll get all excited. I'm a shy kind of guy and I usually just say hi and blush. She's a popular girl and even in class when she sits on the other side of the room she'll stand up and wave and say hi. I talk to her on ICQ sometimes, but it's nothing big. Should I go up and talk to her, I mean, I do sometimes but I don't have anything to talk about. Also, She usually hangs out with older guys, would she want to talk to me? Most of the guys in my grade are immature jerks though.

Instead of jumping to conclusions on wether or not she likes you, just try to be her friend. It could just be that shes nice like that just to certain people and you are one of them. First definatley get to know her, what she likes and doesn't like, who she is and everything else. Let her know who you are too. About not having anything to talk about...try music. Music in just about limitless, and if you both like some of the same music, you got something there. Is she into sports? Do both of you play an instrument? I would say to first try to find a common ground where you both partake in, even if it is just class. Talk about the class, teachers, other people, etc. I know it seems mean, but I actually found that one of the easiest ways to make friends with somebody...is to hate someone else with them. No offence, and don't take it the wrong way, but I remember there was a kid in my school who was a huge jerk to me and everyone else, was always mean, and just out to get everyone. I remember I would be in a group of kids of about 10 or more, know only two of them, and when I mentioned the kid's name, that got everyone going and they each shared stories about their own encounters with him or what they've heard, and things went on from there.
So yeah there are a bunch of ways you can come up with something to talk about, look for something common. If you can't, theres always TV. I personally don't watch tv anymore, but I'm sure she does and you do too and could talk about that. Anyways, just be confident and don't expect things to go all down the drain either - if you play your cards right, get to know her, and be a good friend to her, then you might be in luck. Hope that helped and good luck.

Ask him about him. Pull him over aside and tell him you need to talk, over the phone, online, in person, whatever. First start off by telling him how you feel about the past few events...pretty much what you wrote there.
You should definatley make a move to at least see if he is worth it or not. If he still has feelings for you and wants to be with you and you make the mistake of trying to find out if he is or not, then that can be forgiven. However, if he is trying to get ride of you or walk all over you, don't let that happen - its never fun and both of you will get hurt. Talk to him to see if he does like you and wants to be with you and all of that. No offence, but you might not be the right one for him, or vice versa, him not be the right one for you. Don't try to change anything about him, just set things straight and tell him that if he wants to keep things going, he has to do his part and maybe be a bit more loyal.
Personally, although I may be wrong, it seems like he isn't as interested as you are in him. He might just be interested in you and just want more than that. Whatever the case may be, its up to you to make a move, talk to him, and find out how he feels about you and everything else, and at the same time let him know so then you can plan out what you are to do next - stay with him or put a stop to everything. I suggest you talk to him as soon as possible and make sure you have his complete attention. I hope that helped, good luck.

Q: Hey, I'm a 14 year old male. I have never had a girlfriend and I'm ok with that and I don't intend on getting one anytime soon, but what my question is, how do I become a girl's best friend. As I said, I'm not looking for a girlfriend at the moment. I want to be close friends with girls and I want them to be able to be open with me. I usually just sit with my group of friends which I'm pretty much the "leader" of and observe the girls from far away. I want to be able to talk to girls and feel open with them and them with me. How do I do this? Thanks a bunch.

Nobody says that because she is a girl, that you need to treat her any differently from a guy that is also your friend. Be yourself of course. You know what I mean about what stuff not to say around them though. Be open with them, and even listen to everything a girl may have to say. If you listen to a problem, don't try to come up with a solution right away: most of the time the girl just needs somebody to listen. If you can be that somebody, then things will go well from there. How do you know your friend doesn't feel the same way about you? If you aren't confident yet, then once you are, it will definatley install some confidence in your friend if she feels the same way. Also, be able to listen and talk about anything, wether its about music or purses, or just personal problems and feelings - thats what any best friend is for. So yes, start by being open yourself, and with some time, I'm sure things will fall into place. Hope that helped and good luck.

I can help you out on this one. I go to an all guys school. I've actually asked a lot of them and most, if not all said that they don't like sluts. Why? Because they wouldn't want one for a girlfriend or anything. Maybe as a friend or person to hang out with for the night, but not much from there. Personally, I don't like those tpyes of girls - nobody wants to be liked for the make up or clothes you wear...or lack there of. Acting up in ways that would probably be considered a slut might be fun for a few guys, but not for most. I also find that of all the things a girl should wear, a smile is most important. Hope that helped.

If you have a catholic bible, that story can be found in the first book, which is Genesis. The story starts on Genesis chapter 22.
If you cannot obtain one, here is a link with the story: http://www.o-bible.com/cgibin/ob.cgi?version=kjv&book=ge&chapter=22
I would try giving backround information, like regular narration, parts that the characters don't say or do. Some other information can be found on chapter 21. Hope that helped and good luck.

Relax! If you are stressful and can't take it anymore, more than anything you need to force yourself to think more before you act. Right now what I would suggest you try doing is vent, get it out of your system - wether it be rage, anger, confusion, frustration, hate, or anything else. How? Write about it. Find paper or go on your computer and write everything you can think of about it...and keep it for later somewhere safe.
You gotta try to keep your head in the game, don't push yourself too much but at the same time try not to slip up. Talk to a friend, yes you are allowed to do that. One you can trust of course. If you can't do that and don't feel that writing will help you, get active...physically. I don't mean in a violent manner, but maybe...I don't know, maybe punch your pillow a few times; run outside or work; stretch out every part of your body [careful not to over-stretch].
Don't give up on things, I'll tell you that much - you definatley have the rest of your life ahead of you, things are bound to get better. Hope that helped and good luck.

Q: what are the symptoms of depression & what are the symptoms of OCD?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Hmm...from my research, some symptoms between men and women vary for depression. Here are a few common ones:
You may already know some of the emotional and psychological effects of depression..
Feeling sad, empty, hopeless, or numb. These feelings are with you most of the day, every day.
Loss of interest in things you used to enjoy. You might no longer bother with hobbies that you used to love. You might not like being around friends. You might lose interest in sex.
Irritability or anxiety. You might be short-tempered and find it hard to relax.
Trouble making decisions. Depression can make it hard to think clearly or concentrate. Making a simple choice can seem overwhelming.
Feeling guilty or worthless. These feelings are often exaggerated or inappropriate to the situation. You might feel guilty for things that aren't your fault or that you have no control over. Or you may feel intense guilt for minor mistakes.
Thoughts of death and suicide. The types of thoughts vary. Some people wish that they were dead, feeling that the world would be better off without them. Others make very explicit plans to hurt themselves.
-------------------------------
These are the physical symptoms.
Headaches. These are fairly common in people with depression. If you already had migraine headaches, they may become worse if you're depressed.
Back pain. If you already suffer with back pain, it may get worse if you become depressed.
Muscle aches and joint pain. Depression can make any kind of chronic pain worse.
Chest pain. Obviously, it's very important to get chest pain checked out by an expert right away. It can be a sign of serious heart problems. But chest pain is also associated with depression.
Digestive problems. You might feel queasy or nauseous. You might have diarrhea or become chronically constipated.
Exhaustion and fatigue. No matter how much you sleep, you may still feel tired or worn out. Getting out of the bed in the morning may seem very hard, even impossible.
Sleeping problems. Many people with depression can't sleep well anymore. They wake up too early or can't fall asleep when they go to bed. Others sleep much more than normal.
Change in appetite or weight. Some people with depression lose their appetite and lose weight. Others find they crave certain foods -- like carbohydrates -- and weigh more.
Dizziness or lightheadedness.
-----------------
This is what I found on OCD:
OCD is a chronic or long-term illness, and the symptoms typically increase and decrease over time. Treatment can lessen the severity, but some symptoms may linger after you begin treatment. Anxiety is the most common symptom of OCD. For example, you may have an overall sense that something terrible will happen if you don't follow through with a particular ritual, such as repeatedly checking to see whether the stove is on. If you fail to perform the ritual, you may have immediate anxiety or a nagging sense of incompleteness.
Some symptoms are the following:
*Obsessions, which are recurring, unwanted thoughts, ideas, and impulses that interrupt normal thinking and cause anxiety or fear. The thoughts may be sexual or violent or create a concern of illness. Examples include:
*Persistent fear of harm to yourself or a loved one.
*An excessive need to do things perfectly or correctly.
*A fear of contamination.
*Compulsions, which are behaviors or rituals that are repeated intentionally to try to control the obsessions. Some people have rituals that are rigid and structured, while others have very complex rituals that change. Examples include:
Washing or checking.
*Counting, often while doing another compulsive action, such as hand-washing.
*Repeating things or endlessly rearranging items to keep them in perfect alignment.
*Hoarding.
Sorry the answer was too long, hope that helped.

What made me fall in love? Hmm...realizing that I cared for my friend a lot more than I knew. I got to know her, personality-wise.
Humor - She's really funny in her own way. I don't mean tells jokes funny, but is just all around a fun person to be with.
Kindness - She's the sweetest person ever. Really nice, but not too nice. Doesn't stretch the truth to make me feel better, and expects me to do the same.
Thought - Yeah, this varies. We both have the same views on just about everything. That was a major point.
Honesty - obvious of course.
Just the things she says and the things she does makes me laugh. Doesn't have to tell jokes. Knowing that she loved me back, always caring, always being open, and just being herself is one of the few reasons why I love her.
So yeah if anything more personality than looks. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and can be changed - wouldn't even matter if you were blind, right? Hope that helped.

Q: I'm 16 and I've never been in love. I'd just like to know if anyone else out there has ever been in my position, because I really feel alone. All of my friends throw around the word "love" after having a 2 hour bf/gf relationship. But, I'm scared when I'm older that I won't ever have that one person to wake up and want to be with everyday! It like scares me. Had anyone else been in my position?

Hmm. I think I can almost relate. Don't even worry about that now. You are relativley young, probably going to live to what, 50-70? Nobody said that you have to be in love while you are in high school, or find your significant other this early. Really, how many people find a relationship in their highschool years, and then stick with it for the rest of their life? I'm guessing its not too many.
Is there something wrong with you because you have not been in love or been loved? No of course not. I consider that a plus: your friends and special someone will value you to be of the few who are...I guess you could say 'good'. No thats never a bad thing. I actually respect that, and not the 13 year olds who go as far as pregnancy and stuff. I mean, I was in the position where I was always asking myself: why not me? why don't I get a share in this whole 'love' thing? Don't give up hope - after so many years of waiting, it did pay off for me. Good things come to those who wait. Hope that helped and good luck.

Q: 16/m.-will rate- we met in a chat room, along with id say about 20 other kids. this was before the summer of 2003 and you know we were mostly from the same general area, east coast, but a few random people from cali n stuff. well anyways we all became pretty good friends, guys and girls all between 8th grade[where I was in at that time] and seniors and somehowI knew there was something different about one of them. well I thought you know: she didn’t notice me, she lives too far, blah blah blah. until I decided to, along with one of the guys there who was older, play a prank on her that id ask her out, and when she said no pretend to wanna kill myself.
at first it was hilarious, but then once I realized I hurt her feelings, I knew somethin was wrong
because I liked her as a friend nothing more, because I really didn’t know but I knew she liked me more than that so she felt terrible and then I felt bad too and I was like: wow I guess I must really care
so I told her everything n she told me everything how we felt n stuff. from then on we were...I guess u culd say closer friends. I asked her out everyday as a joke, n she always sed no and then I actually got serious, so I convinced her to believe me. after like 3 weeks and around august
she came around and sed yes. now ur thinkin, wtf is that, thats beyond insane.
she actually doesn’t live too far and yeah I know, we wer young n had no idea what we wer getting into it wasn’t like you know, something real, just for fun I guess. since then
shes been i guess... my 'gf'. now 2 things
1. she knew what i looked like and were i lived
2. i didnt know where she lived, or what she looked like. even crazier right? We actually met for the first time in person 3 days ago, still cant believe we pulled it off. Well what I wanna know is…would you consider this to be real love or a real relationship, why or why not. thanks

Depends on what you define love as. From what it seems I think that yeah, it seems like real love. If you and the girl think it is, then by all means, best of luck.

Hmm. It's not something you have too much control over, unfortunatley. Its natural so don't let it bother you too much. I mean it doesn't mean that you are a bad person. Once you get more comfortable with being with girls and stuff, it won't be a problem. Try not to let it get to you, its something I think everyone goes through. Hope that helped.

Q: ok it's kind've long & full of drama, but if you're willing to listen to what i have to explain, thank you.
i've been friends with this girl & i've known her for awhile. i guess you can say were kind've best friends as like girls go, but she was best friends with another girl before this. they were pretty good but the girl turned mean. during ms i was friends w/ her too. soo to make this less confusing, my friend will be named J and the other girl will be named A. ok soo me and J were friends, and J and A were best friendssss er whatever. soo i became friends with A too, and suddenly she juss turned mean. i guess she was never a true friend to J and i was er still am. so that was a problem. me and J are best friends now, i mean im her best friend & stuff. soo since like 7th grade she's been going back & forth. saying she hates A & then shes best friends with A again and now she hasnt been her friend for a few months. now theyre talking again & she invited me to hang out with her and A which was weird but i couldnt go anyway. what im asking is what i should do. i mean, A and J are gonna be friends & then A will make J mad & she'll come running back to me again on how she hates A like every other time. i like J & all but it's really starting to get annoying. if there's anyway to stay out've the drama let me know. i really can't talk to her about it, because i tried so many times. yet were friends & so are our parents & we do stuff together so it isn't like i cant be her friend. idk i dont want drama anymore.
thanks!!!!

Feel free to ask me any questions or for an alternate way of contacting me through my inbox.
I really like giving advice, so thats why I have a column here. I've been inactive for a long time, but I'm back and will do my best to catch up. Advicenators is a great site and it is what we make it. Having my own advice column helped me learn a lot of new things, even about myself, while giving me the chance to help others along the way. Thanks.
