Hey. I am doing a speech on reasons why people over 18 should vote and I need some good reasons. I already have a lot but I would like to get more. Does anyone have any opinions on why people should vote or websites about voting that I could look at? I know this is stupid, but what do you think about it. Lol, thanks. (link)

michaelmoore.com has a lot of stuff encouraging young voters, so it's possible there are reasons there.
I think the most important reason young people should vote is because it's our future. If we want something to happen, we have to make it happen through voting. Our parents can't make our decisions for us for the rest of our lives. Eventually a president/prime minister will be from our generation.

Ok guys I am getting a bit nervous. I have been on my pill for a few months now. I take it the same time everyday, I dont forget to take them. I have 3 days left till I start a new pack and I havent gotten my period yet. When your on the pill should your period start before you start your new pack. If I dont get it by mid week next week I will take a test. But i am wondering if its normal to have not gotten my period yet. The last few months I had it already. Thanks for all your help guys. Since it's only been a few months, your cycle is still adjusting to the pill, so it should start a little bit later now. Mine starts three days before I start a new pack, and is much shorter which is great. However if you don't get your period at all go over to the doctor to see if it is an issue with your pills or if you are pregnant.

ok i have a rash on my back, it has little red bumps going all down my spine.. its really ichy and really red! im really scared because i dont know what it is!! PLEASE HELP ME IM SO SCARED!!!!!!

if you've been in a hot tub recently, you should go to a doctor, you could have an infection from lack of chemicals in the tub that only antibiotics will cure.
If the rash has been present for a while, GO TO THE DOCTOR. If you can't get to the doctors for a while, try putting some camomile lotion on it, to sooth the itching. Avoid using smelly body wash and such for now.

Vitamin E fades scars. They're totally normal though, and a sign of growing. Most girls have them around the tops of their legs or thighs. They will fade with time, but viatmin e can hurry up the process.
She shouldn't be embarrassed about talking to her mom because chances are her mom has them too.

it depends where in Canada you live. I live in Ontario and we have all four seasons, and in the winter it can get pretty chilly. British Columbia doesn't get any snow, but places like Nunavut and the North West Territories are pretty much perma snow.
I'd have to disagree with Texas being the coolest place on the planet, since George Bush is from there and all.

I have these dark circles under my eyes. They're huge though, and I can't cover it with makeup! They go from my nose (by my eyes), and go down in a round motion (which lines up with the end of my nose). They fade as they go down. How do I get rid of it?? (link)

you are either low in iron or need more sleep. If you're hair falls out easily, then you are definitly low in iron. Either eat more meat, broccoli and such or talk to your doctor about taking an iron supplement.
Make up is a temporary solution.

Well you lyk can't have him, since I've already pledged my love for Zac. I WILL EVEN VACCUUM FOR THE BOY. And I vaccuum for NO ONE. Plus my ovaries already have his name all over them.
If you insist on trying anyways, tattoo his name, or better yet face, on your bum or boob, then chase after their tour bus, while flashing said tat. It impresses him, especially when you prove you can keep up with the bus. Or send him mysteriously wrapped ticking packages with notes attached that say "When this clock stops ticking, so will my love for you".
For the meantime, go purchase their latest cd "Underneath" and ENJOY as I am doing right now.

I get migranes all the time! Does anybody know what may be causing it? I dont know much about migranes. My mom and I get them all the time! I usually take advil or asprin, or something. Do you get migranes? What works well for you? (link)

Migraines are genetic which is why both you and your mother get them. I get them alot too, and eventually started taking Tylenol 3's for them. The only problem is Tylenol 3's don't work anymore so I've had to move up to Tylenol 4's. Medicine specifically for migraines is avaliable from your doctor, but it's expensive and makes you really drowsy and groggy. If you're migraines are chronic (a couple times a month) the doctor can prescribe a preventative drug.
I find the best thing to do when I have a migraine is lay down in a dark, QUIET room and sleep. Sometimes if I can't I kind of bang my head where it hurts, to numb the pain, but that's not exactly scientific or recommended.

There is this girl at my school(we'll call her sally) and she is really creeping out me and my freinds latley. She ALWAYS follows us around. i think she is just trying to make freinds but the main problem is is that she NEVER talks...EVER!and when i say she follows us i mean everywhere. we were on the bleachers today for this NJHS meeting, and we moved down a row...then she moved down the SAME ROW!! Plus, she thinks that we are best freinds or something-and best freinds with all the popular kids. i really dont know what to do. what is a nicer way to tell her how we feel and to help her make freinds?? thanks. talk to her! she's probably just lonely, try and be sympathetic. Suggest that it's a little strange for her to just follow you guys around silently. Let her sit with you at lunch or something. Who cares if she's not popular, as you get older cliques won't matter (unless you stay stuck in middle school like some people I know, ahem ahem). Who knows if you have a conversation with her, you may actually even like her. Or she may change her mind on wanting to be friends with you. If you treat her like a person, instead of a lost puppy, she'll probably lose her desire to latch on to someone and follow them around, and gain a little self confidence.

for american history, my class had to write an essay. we had to be either john kerry or george bush and discuss what issues we are going to change. today we got our papers back. i got 19/18, but i had a see me on my paper. it said the teacher thought i had not written it because it was far better than anything id written this year. we had to get our information from 3 internet articles, so i gave the teacher my articles. i did not plaigerise, and i told the teacher that. i dont know if tomorrow she will say she believes me or not. i feel so insulted and ashamed even though ive done nothing wrong. what do i do? I think your teacher just wanted to make sure you had sources avaliable. Most teachers that I know wouldn't have even marked your paper if it looked blatantly plagerized. They would have spoken with you immediately. Since you provided your teacher with the sources, she'll be able to see it was not plagerized. Our schools (high school and post secondary) have programs where you can type in a piece of your essay and find out if it's already out there. You can probably even do it with google.
If your teacher continues with the alegations of academic dishonesty, bring it up with the principle, with your essay and citations you used readily avaliable.
Be proud that your work has improved to a level that even your teacher is suprised at. Next time make sure you source everything, even the things you aren't sure of.

Well, to start it off I'm 17/f.. and i'm gay, recently out of denial lol... But since then there's been this girl who you can easily tell by the way she is (short hair, built, style) that she is definitely gay and I'm so incredibly interested in her. But she's a freshman in college and I'm a senior in high school and never see her. We talk here and there onlnie but it's never really personal enough to get into details about her and evertyhing and the convos are 9 times out of 10 cut really short... But to cut to teh chase, I don't think seh knows that I'm gay and I'm not the type of person to just come out and say it, since it's pretty new to me. Do you have any suggestions on how I can get the hint across?
P.S. I plan on going to the college she's at (not b/c she's there but b/c I really liked it and I actually only got to know her better from seeing her there b/c I only knew her from 1 sball game against her) So if you think I should just wait until next year to actually pursue it, that's fine. I just want to know what you think.. (link)

talk to her about the college she attends, and if you're feeling gutsy enough, casually ask her about the schools GLBT clubs or support groups.
Or you can continue talking to her until you become comfortable enough with her to bring it up. Use college as an excuse to call her to ask more questions. Hint that you're interested in seeing the campus. Ask her if she'd be able to give you a tour.
When you become more... comfortable (not the best possible word) with your sexuality it might be easier to approach her. Good luck.

posters that were always popular were ones with a picture of a band or celebrity saying "I'm voting for so and so". It would help if you could give us her name or what position she's running for, to make slogans.
Make one really huge poster (like the paper used for kids finger painting and what have you) that everyone notices, in huge, plain but bright lettering. Then get fancy with the smaller (ie bristol board to paper sized) ones. Stickers are always cool.

I don't have any tattoo's but I've heard the lower back is one of the more painful places to get tattoo'd, because it contains alot of nerve endings. If you're female and plan on having children you may want to rethink getting a tattoo here. You can't get an epidural with a lower back tattoo.
Your best bet is to go to a tattoo parlor and talk to them about how painful it is, and how much care it will need.

it should go away in a couple hours. You'll slowly start noticing you can feel your lip, and it might be tingly- like really, really light pins and needles. How long ago did you get your filling? If it is less than an hour you shouldn't be drinking or eating.
My mother always advised me not to jump on the trampoline while my mouth was frozen because if I split my lip I wouldn't feel it... so stay away from trampolines.

I am 16-f. For a month or so now... i have been having horrible leg pains. Like achey. They hurt so bad I can't sleep sometimes. I was thinking it could be growing pains... but I am almost done growning. (I'm 5'8) and even when I was like 12 and growing... my legs didnt hurt this much. stretch your legs out before you go to sleep. I sometimes get Charlie horses while I sleep, but I find that if I walk alot during the day or exercise a bit, they don't happen. And like jbdreamer said drink more water, dehydration could be a cause. If they still occur it could be a lack of viatmins (B and potassium... I think). Ask your doctor to recommend a multivitamin that would help, if they still bug you.

I'm not familiar with the painting business so this could be grossly inaccurate, but maybe something like the first 40 cubic feet free or half off, or a free consultation. People love a bargain. Advertise in areas with newer homes, generally they are first starting out and need to decorate.

It means you have coarse, somewhat tangled hair. If it's difficult, or near impossible to run your hands through your hair or or your hair feels "weird" to the touch you may have nappy hair. You are more likely to have nappy hair if your hair is naturally curly.
