I get migranes all the time! Does anybody know what may be causing it? I dont know much about migranes. My mom and I get them all the time! I usually take advil or asprin, or something. Do you get migranes? What works well for you?
Draak answered Saturday November 6 2004, 4:12 am: You should probably get an allergy test done. But in the meantime you and your mom might want to try adding a vitamin supplement of B-complex or B-2, anything that has riboflavin in it. When headaches strike take a headache medicine like Excederin for migraines or if you talk to your doctor about it he/she can put you on Imitrex, which is specifically for migraines. Also, when affected there are serveral other things you can try like lower your lights, I tend to have light sesitivity when I have a migraine; a hot damp rag on the forehead or back of the neck; hot chamomile tea, since it's a pain reliever as well and very calming.

My suggestion: Get a kitten, and cuddle it, your headache will go away after a while. Until you have to clean out her litter box. I'm an outsidet trained cat, so I don't have that problem. But not all of us are as smart as me.

What I normally do, is keep track of my migranes, take an IBprofen, and next time I go c the doctor, I show him my migrane list. Hope I helped! xoxox ♥xxm0onZStArZxx [ xxm0onZStArzxx's advice column | Ask xxm0onZStArzxx A Question ]
xXxpinky615xXx answered Friday November 5 2004, 9:53 pm: I get them because of the pressure outside and the weather change. That is most likely the reason why you've been getting migranes. Try using excedrin (The strongest one you can find). Advil won't work for my migranes and advil is strong for me. I use excedrin. I get really bad migranes to the point where I puke. Excedrin works best for me. Hope this helped. [ xXxpinky615xXx's advice column | Ask xXxpinky615xXx A Question ]

Notso answered Friday November 5 2004, 9:35 pm: Migraines are genetic which is why both you and your mother get them. I get them alot too, and eventually started taking Tylenol 3's for them. The only problem is Tylenol 3's don't work anymore so I've had to move up to Tylenol 4's. Medicine specifically for migraines is avaliable from your doctor, but it's expensive and makes you really drowsy and groggy. If you're migraines are chronic (a couple times a month) the doctor can prescribe a preventative drug.
I find the best thing to do when I have a migraine is lay down in a dark, QUIET room and sleep. Sometimes if I can't I kind of bang my head where it hurts, to numb the pain, but that's not exactly scientific or recommended. [ Notso's advice column | Ask Notso A Question ]
