local commercials are usually cheap! :)
put your name out on local websites
tell all your friends, family members, co-workers,etc... about it and ask them to spread the word.
you can always make an announcement at your church.
put up your flyers on street posts on the corners of busy streets.

good luck! :)

some ideas i thought of: place and ad in a bulletin board or newspaper, give a gas station some business cards to pass out, you could also do the same thing with the flyers, hang up a flyer at a gas station, go to Wal*Mart or some other big store and put on flyer on some vehicles! well, i hope u get ur business started!

try making a website, you could make flyers with the website on it and put it on around town .

make a promotional offer for your first customers. I'm not familiar with the painting business so this could be grossly inaccurate, but maybe something like the first 40 cubic feet free or half off, or a free consultation. People love a bargain. Advertise in areas with newer homes, generally they are first starting out and need to decorate.
