If you do get one, don't get it where the skin stretches because that will look ugly as time goes by as you get older. I hear you can't give blood donations after you get a tattoo, but I am not sure if that is true. You should also get a tattoo that has meaning to you... like, if you get one of your boyfriends name, and you two break up later on, then that tattoo won't have meaning to you later on. Ankle- Again, I would not suggest getting a tattoo on your ankle. My mother did- and it is very hard to be professional when you have one in such an open area. You always have to wear socks to work (or else you might not beconsidered very serious) and it does hurt a lot- especially when adding color. Try getting a tattoo (if you have to) on your upper back.. to reduce wrinkles.. which is also a place that doesn't get a lot of exposure (unless you have a backless gown.. the two wouldn't work well together =/ )
Notso answered Tuesday November 2 2004, 8:31 pm: I don't have any tattoo's but I've heard the lower back is one of the more painful places to get tattoo'd, because it contains alot of nerve endings. If you're female and plan on having children you may want to rethink getting a tattoo here. You can't get an epidural with a lower back tattoo.
Your best bet is to go to a tattoo parlor and talk to them about how painful it is, and how much care it will need. [ Notso's advice column | Ask Notso A Question ]
xXxpinky615xXx answered Tuesday November 2 2004, 8:17 pm: My mom has a tattoo on her lower back, on her tail bone to be exact. I went with her to get it done and my mom is normally a very tough person when it comes to pain... for God's sake she gave birth to 2 kids. Anyway, If you get a tattoo anywhere close to a bone, it hurts. My mom was practically crying when she got it done. So yeah, it hurts pretty damn bad. Get it somewhere else, for 2 reasons, 1) You can't see it (as in YOU) and 2) It hurts really really bad. My mom regrets it. Get it like on your stomach near your hip, no one gets tattoos there anymore! Be different. Then again, it's your decision. But yes, it hurts. BAD. Hope this helped.
