If god knows were gonna do it, why doesnt he stop us
If god knows that we are gonna do something bad, like look up porn, why doesnt he try and stop us. I dont really understand it but, i am a porn addict and its getting harder and harder for me to stop. why would god let me do it if he knows its wrong?

Because God loves us so much that he wants to give us a choice and somtimes he is telling you no in your head we just can't hear him because the urge is so strong! Ask for strength in Christ to say no to the temptation...

Why would God stop you? God created this amazing cosmos for us to enjoy anything and everything under the sun. Sometimes the things we enjoy are self-destructive, but if that's what you want to experience, God won't stop you.
However, when you're ready to leave your addiction behind, God will support that, as well. God will send you whatever you need to break the habit once you are fully committed to letting it go. The choice is yours, and God loves you equally no matter what.

hi this is mandi and i hope i can help. i dont know wat ur going through or how bad your adiction is, but i do know the bible says that God never lets you be tempted with something you cant handle. just remember to pray about it and if you cant stop, see a theripist. i know it sounds crazy, but porn is really bad and is a sin. also, if God tried stopping you at looking at porn, dont you think he wood have stopped someone from killing someone else. God gave us choice, and we have to choose right over wrong. hope i helped! :-)

I feel that God only has a certain power on us. We have our own feelings and actions, and sometimes he sends us messages to stop, but most of the time we ignore it.

God does not stop us because we have a choice. It is called free will. We know it is wrong to do things but we are creatures of habit and tend to stay in one path. The only way to stop is by trying really hard and asking God for support. The temptation will always be there but if you resist it, you can only gain confidence and a stronger relationship with Christ.

Sometimes God lets Satan tempt us to teach us a lesson or to punish us for what we have done. God didnt make that happen, he let it. And maybe he is still letting it go on so that you will call on him for help, and get closer to him. Or go to the bible and look for verses, there are many reasons why he wont stop it, but it is not because he just wants to watch you suffer. He loves you and made you and choose you as his own.. soo stick with him.. he isnt evil!!

Looking at porn isn't bad. "God" or whatever diety you worship doesn't care. If you like porn, be proud of the fact. Enjoy your smut. The averave person masterbates between 2 and 5 times a day. You are fine.

You aren't a robot or a puppet. God gives you choice. When you do something you know you shouldn't do, you end up asking questions like this, which shows God is at work in your conscience.
He gives you plenty of warnings, like that weird feeling you get when you're about to look up porn.

when god died for us, we got this thing called free will. God wants us to do right, but there is always that stupid devil that tries to pull you to doing bad. So i think its the devil pulling you to watch the porn. So just pray to god that he will help you and then try not to go tothe site as much, and soon you will not be on there at all! hope i helped.

If you remeber the key thing in life, God puts us through something for a reason. Maybe He's doing this to help you become stronger. If you look at it this way, Satin is the stuff your looking at it, and it's a test that God is puting you through. He's testing to see who's stronger in your life, Satin or God. Right now you're letting Satin win, which you cannot do. You aren't fighting this temptaion alone. Turn to God when times are tough, that's what He's there for.

Maybe because there might not be a god, or the kind of god you picture. Besides, free will. I do believe god wants you to make your own decisions. That way you can learn from your mistakes. Besides, don't blame god for not stopping you from doing bad things. You have a mind and can stop yourself anytime now. And isn't whether something is wrong or not based on perspective. Not everybody considers the same thing wrong. There's just too many factors to blame this on god.

Taking control over your actions is your responsibility, not God's. Or anyone else's for that matter.
Regarding looking up porn. An addiction requires compulsive behavior. And I'll tell you how it gets to that point and where you have to stop it.
Thoughts create feelings. We then ACT upon those feelings. You have to learn how to stop the thoughts. It is very difficult at first, but have no doubt, it CAN be done. It takes a very strong person to do that in the face of an addiction. You are probably past the point where you can do it on your own. And that's nothing to be ashamed of. Frankly, I'm proud of you that you are aware of your behavior and want to change it. That, in itself, is half the battle right there. I do think you may need some additional guidance in the form of an adult with whom you can speak freely and in confidence. Perhaps a guidance counselor or a teacher that you can trust. Even if they can't help you, they will be able to refer you to someone who can. Don't stop with just one talk either, you need some support on an ongoing basis. Good luck!

Maybe God doesn't care. In any case, he evidently has a strict non-involvement policy, so we're not likely to get a straight answer.
To me, the idea of a fairly neutral god seems much more likely than a fire-and-damnation type.

Those are questions that are pretty good to ask, because nobody knows, and everyone wants to know. But, God basically lets us chose what we want to do, and its almost like picking consequences, either you get lucky and lets it slide, or you're caught. Now, porn is taught wrong to lots of kids, which, its wrong in a nasty negative way, but lots of guys always look at porn, girls do it too, and its nothing abnormal, its just not a good thing to get carried away like being addicted to it. I use to be addicted to some icon sites, and the only way I got away from it, was finding a new website that I liked, a good website, the bad thing about icon sites is that people always put me don, and it just made me feel bad, so now I am at advicenators, giving advice, and getting back nice comments. But, you should try either just staying off of the computer, or somehow figure out how to ban those sites where your computer won't let you. Just figure out a way.

God gives us control over our lives if god tried to stop you from doing anything bad then you would never have free will. besides looking at porn isnt bad but looking at child porn is. god gave us power to make our own decisions and if they are good ones then he will most likely aid you if they are bad then he wont aid you. but he wont stop you from doing the bad thing all together because that is a loss of free will and ppl were made to have free will to do what they want.

he doesn't stop us because it is in our nature to do stuff like that. we are free willed and that is the best gift of god we have been given... I assure you it is a good thing that we have this freedom. if you sincerly want to stop than you have to know that it is impossible to want to serve god by stopping while also wanting to look up porn. so, you have to decide which is more important. if god is in fact your choice then you should pray and ask him to give you strength. if you are constantly looking at porn whenever you go on your computer than you should not go on the computer.. get it? if you have any more questions about this.. feel free to ask me. =]
