advice on a sixpack

Posted Thursday August 24 2006, 1:48 am

15/m I'd like advice from someone who has a sixpack and who worked for one, not a skinnypack. Well I used to have a six pack from just doing situps, but then I stopped and now you could call it a "undefined six pack." What are some good work out's to get one. And I'd like more of an answer than just, "Do sit-ups." If you say that, then at least say how long and for how long. Or maybe say what you did to get a sixpack. K gracias...

trampoline exercise

Posted Wednesday August 23 2006, 9:39 pm

I was wondering if anyone knew of a site or had information or trampoline exercising.

Like i really enjoy doing gymnastics on my trampoline and i was wondering if there was a site that could give me an exstimate on how many calories i was burning and/or compare something like a front tuck to how many crunches that would equal etc.

i feel like i am getting a good workout and my abs tend to hurt after doing 30-40 standing front tucks on there with little to no bouncing, and i was hoping to find out how benificial these workouts could be.

losing 15 pounds

Posted Wednesday August 23 2006, 9:35 pm

hey im 15/f i weigh 130 pounds and im 5'5. My friends are about my height and they weigh like 105-115. I have just a little bit of fat around my legs and tummy. I do crunches everyday but it doesn't help neither does running and i've been doing it for over a month. And whatever i do i cant seem to loose any weight no matter how hard i try! Is there any way to lose 15 pounds easily? I've stayed the same weight for almost 2 years. And ive been to the gym alot last year but havent lost a pound. Can anybody tell me what i can do to help lose like 15 pounds. I think i would look alot better if i did loose a few extra pounds. THANKS!

Feeling Overwieght

Posted Wednesday August 23 2006, 9:26 pm

I've been struggling with my wieght for years now and I have finally got into good shape and I work out alot and eat well. I want to loose wieght in a healthy way.

I swim everyday (week day) and I do pilates. I try to run or dance three times a week, but I cant aways do that. I am happy with my progress, but not happy with my body yet.

But I am afriad I still overwieght. I'm 14 years old and I used to be 5'6 and 189 pounds, now I am 5'7, and I wiegh 158 pounds.

Am I still overwieght?
And do you have any thoughts on how I can lose more wieght in a healthy matter?

Ballet at 14

Posted Wednesday August 23 2006, 9:05 pm

I did ballet for 4years and I had to quit because of family reasons. Now I'm fourteen and I want to start again. I've found some videos and books and I'm going to teach myself. But what I wanted to know, if any of you are dancers and if you give me some tips and help me
with getting shoes. I'm so lost with the shoes part.
Like:
What is street size?
M and W, what is it?
A B and C, how narrow is that?
Can I run and dance? Will that improve it?
Do you think you teach yourself?
and anything else you think might be good to know when you first start :).

Thanks so Much!

walking

Posted Wednesday August 23 2006, 7:14 pm

14/f.my mom and my neighbor go walking 2 miles or more every night. last year i started going with them, but now i'm starting not to. i know that it is good exercise, but i'm just kind of embarrassed to be seen walking with my mom and my neighbor. i know that sounds mean but its true. sometimes we walking laps around the neighborhood and sometimes we walk outside the neighborhood where other people and people i go to school with can see us. what do i do? and i'm not going to tell my mom that i'm embarrassed to walk with her, that is just too mean.

exercise

Posted Wednesday August 23 2006, 5:43 pm

14/f. i'm fine with my weight, it is just that i would like to get a flatter stomach. i already eat healthy, drink lots of water, and i know that i need to exercise in order to reach my goal. but everytime i try to exercise, i get lazy and stop, or i never start at all. what can i do?

and what are some easy exercises to do at home? i already do crunches and bicycles, but i know i need to do some kind of aerobics. i want to do something that i can do at home. like i dont want to go running, jogging, or walking. i also don't want to have to buy a video. i know i'm being picky but i just don't have the money to buy a workout video.

running the mile...

Posted Tuesday August 22 2006, 7:30 pm

I need help to train for the gym fitness test that I will be taking early this year. I am not extremely out of shape, for most of the fitness test (pushups, situps, and sit and reach) however, I cant run for my life. Does anyone have any tips on how to train for the 1 mile run? I need to get a reasonable time (like 10 minutes and below) but I also have a breathing disorder that has to do with my vocal cords, making it harder to keep my breathing inline when I run. Please help me with a training guideline!

Excercise Plan

Posted Monday August 21 2006, 8:06 pm

I have a very slender figure but I feel so out of shape. The only excercise I get is dance class once a week. My parents have tried to put me in sports, but I just don't enjoy them. Plus, it is hard for me because I have Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was wondering if somebody could make me an excercise plan that targets the biceps, stomach, and thighs. And keep in mind that I'm trying to build muscle & tone...not loose weight. Thanks so much =)

Weight Issues

Posted Sunday August 20 2006, 6:26 pm

First off, I'm 13/F.

I was curious as to what my BMI percentile was, and once calculated, it was 90. That puzzles me, because I am not overweight. I admit, I'm not stick thin, but I am definitely not heavier than 90% of people my age. I take a 5/6 in jeans and a medium for tops! I don't know about you, but I know for a fact that people my age are not all 0's, 2's, and 4's. I know that some of it contributes to my build, because my family's picture is in the dictionary next to the entry "big-boned". ;) But anyway, my question is: do you think that your BMI is correct? And do you think that a person that is classified as "medium" by clothes should be 90%? (yes, I made sure I entered the correct info.)
