Weight Issues

Question Posted Sunday August 20 2006, 6:26 pm

First off, I'm 13/F.

I was curious as to what my BMI percentile was, and once calculated, it was 90. That puzzles me, because I am not overweight. I admit, I'm not stick thin, but I am definitely not heavier than 90% of people my age. I take a 5/6 in jeans and a medium for tops! I don't know about you, but I know for a fact that people my age are not all 0's, 2's, and 4's. I know that some of it contributes to my build, because my family's picture is in the dictionary next to the entry "big-boned". ;) But anyway, my question is: do you think that your BMI is correct? And do you think that a person that is classified as "medium" by clothes should be 90%? (yes, I made sure I entered the correct info.)

I don't need any words of encouragement- I don't feel self-conscious at all and am happy with my body. At most, I would like to loose 5-10 pounds.

A BMI of 90 must have been calculated wrong, since 25 is the limit for being overweight. Try it again or ask a doctor. If you just need to loose 5-10 lbs then you have nothing to worry about.

Internet places that calculate your bmi sometimes arent all that accurate for instance yours.
If you really want to know for sure, when you have a check up at the doctors ask them :]

But anyways everyone's bodies are SO different, that they arent always accurate. <33
