14/f. i really want to buy a tredmill so that i can exercise everyday without leaving the house and while watching TV. but there are some problems.
1) my parents don't want to buy one becuase they are expenisive.
2) and i definitaly don't have the money to pay for one all by myself.
what can i do? i really want one so that i can stay in shape during school. i can't go running outside, so i really need this tredmill. what can i do?!?!
Why cant you run outside? Its the same thing as a treadmill, only its free, and you cant do it while watching tv, but its good to get outside and excersise. So run outside. Or you can jog, or fast walk.

Also, sometimes people just run up and down their stairs over and over again to count as running, so while you're working on eaarning the money, at night time or something before you go to bed you can run up and down the stairs. Or just run/jog in place for like, 10 minutes, give yourself a 10 minute break, and then do it again for another 10. Or try signing up for a gym, and maybe even ask your mom or your friend or somebody to go with you so it's alot more fun exercising with somebody. I hope I helped. <3 [ MelLeDisko's advice column | Ask MelLeDisko A Question ]
CHRIStotheTINAA answered Friday August 25 2006, 12:49 am: i thought of a few things you could do
1)instead of getting a treadmill, you could try joining a gym. if you're worried about staying in shape, going to a gym could work out a lot more places than just what a treadmill does.
2)you could start saving up money to buy a treadmill, or get a job. even though they're extremely expensive, by saving up with your own money, you'll be proud of yourself that you bought it yourself without your parents help. or maybe your parents will reconsider&help you out with buying one.
3)you could look though the newpaper, and maybe find a used treadmill. it could be crappy, but it'll be a lot cheaper than buying a brand new one- and it'd be better than nothing.
I hope I helped! :] [ CHRIStotheTINAA's advice column | Ask CHRIStotheTINAA A Question ]
adviceme3 answered Friday August 25 2006, 12:42 am: If you're really serious about buying a treadmill then start to do extra jobs. Either around the house, or for a neighbor of friend. If you start earning money, you're parents will see that you are serious and responsible enough, and they may spot you some money that you can use to buy the treadmill. Also, tell them how it will help you stay in shape, without leaving the house. [ adviceme3's advice column | Ask adviceme3 A Question ]
igiveadvice4free answered Thursday August 24 2006, 6:43 pm: You need to change the "fat person" mentality.
You need to move around if you want to exercise, and stepping out of your house would be the first step.
I don't blame your parents for not paying for treadmill because it's FREAKING expensive.
You're very naive for thinking that you could exercise when watching TV....
If you still want to buy a treadmill, then follow Gary Coleman's advice: CALL CASHCALL!!!!
DancinCutie08 answered Thursday August 24 2006, 5:03 pm: ballys has memberships starting at $19 now which means you can get a years membership for the price of a crappy treadmill.
What i would do is talk you parents into helping you pay. Like i work at sears now and alot of our workout stuff is going on really good sales and you can get a good treadmill for as low as $300. Maybe say if i pay for half will you pay for the other half etc. Also they have at sears you can get 0% financing for 6 monthes on them when opening a sears card so maybe you can talk your parents into doing that so you can put all of your xmas money and what not towards that.
Volleyball2150 answered Thursday August 24 2006, 4:57 pm: have a garage sale and buy one. if not, ask your best friend or a relative to buy one for you. then promise them you'll pay them back. If not, do what the other advicenator said, look for one in the newspaper or in a garage sale.
xEVYx answered Thursday August 24 2006, 4:45 pm: You could always look for one at a garage sale, or in the newspaper ads. My parents found one in the thrifty nickel and it lasted about 2 years. Of course it won't be the best but it's better than nothing!
If all else fails do work around the house and get your parents to pay you. Save it, then buy an inexpensive one.
