Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. This site helped me a LOT when I was in high school and had a lot of questions, and I'm here to help anyone who needs it :) Feel free to write in my forum or send me a question any time!

I've had my period for almost 10 months now and it still doesn't come on the same days or "schedule" or whatever. I don't know when I am going to get it, because it's such a bad frequency. I don't want to leak in school, and I'm always scared that I did leak, and I didn't notice, and like people are laughing behind my back. I just don't know what to do. I don't wear pads either so..please help?

It still won't be on schedule for quite a while, maybe not even for another year. You can't bring bookbags around? You must not be in high school yet. Well, your best bet then is to wear pantyliners everyday, that way if you leak, it won't show as much. And always bring a hoodie to school. that way, if you leak, and there is a stain on your pants, you can tie the hoodie around your waist (only hoodies look good like that, if it's just a regular jacket, then total fashion faupa (sp? pronounced fo pa, means fashion don't! it's spanish.) Hope I'm of some help. You can always keep some in your bookbag though, and if you start, you can go to your locker, and get it and change. Just tell your teacher it's that time, I did it last year, I was like "I need to go to my locker and I also need to use the restroom.?" and the teacher was like "why"?, and I was like, uhhh, well it's that time of month, and I need to change, and she was like okay. So yes, it's embarassing, but it happens. Also, usually nurses have pads, but a lot of people think pads are uncomfortable, plus the bigger pads are cheaper so those are the kind the school usually has, talk about uncomfortable, I've had to use them before, so not an experiance you'd want to go through. Well, hope I've been some kind of help.

e-mail, instant message her, write a note, or try to work up the courage to say something. Hope I'm of some help. Don't worry, the worst she can do is reject you, and babe, there are other fish in the sea. Always be ready for the worst, that way your hopes won't fall, the only thing they can do is stay, or rise. Expect her to deny, that way, if she accepts, then you'll be happy, and if she denies, then you'll be expecting it. And when I said think she will deny, I mean, act yourself, but think of her denying. I don't want you to think she's going to deny, so you act different in front of her. Just practice with a mirror or something. It's not weird to do that, a lot of people do that, they may not admit to it, but a lot of people have trouble when it comes to asking somebody out. does anyone kno how 2 get glue off of ur nails? i put on fake nails 4 homecoming, and that was like, over a month ago. i wanna get it off, cuz i can't paint my nails anymore, cuz u can totally c the glue. thx. i'll rate high.

Do you know that you can do that professionaly? The nail salon in the mall a little ways away from here does it for about $5. Or washing it off with that old fashioned soap and water thing, usually helps. Hot water works better than cold, which it usually does when you're trying to clean something. To let you know, I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but when rereading this response it sort of sounds that way, and I don't want you to get the wrong idea.

Medicine? Go to the doctors and get a prescription, sore throat could mean strep, depending on redness, and if your throat is red, it hurts, and there is white stuff back there. Ummm, is flonase over the counter? If you mean OTC drugs, then maybe flonase, ibeuprofin (sp?) cough syrup sometimes helps with sore throats. Just look in your medicine cabinet and see what the meds treat, and if you have those symptomes, take it. But don't mix or anything, that could be dangerous. Eat chicken soup, that cures EVERYTHING! (well maybe not always, but it sure does help, and taste yummy.)

Okay well i was walken downtown with my 2 friends today and this druggie/badass was down there and he called over this geeky guy called Josh and all of a sudden he starts beating him up! i was so scared i didnt know what to do.. he almost started to cry and before he left he said im callen aaron (the cop in our town) and my friends r like dont tell him we were here. im afraid hes gunna tell the cop and he'll ask me and somehow it'll get back to the badass and he'll beat the shit outta me .. im a gurl btw and he hits girls and stuff and he like knows how to set up bombs n shit cuz he put a bomb in our school one year.. if the cop does ask me shoudl i say i witnessed it?

Yes, the police's business is to keep people safe, and if you don't say anything, then you are just making it worse. You need to speak up, for your safety and others. Ask them to keep your name anonymous, and if they ask for your name, tell that you'd rather stay anonymous. Unless they already have your name. They shouldn't give out names anyways, where I live, that isn't allowed. You need to tell on him, who cares what he knows how to do. If he's locked up, or in trouble with the law, and he's smart, then he wouldn't risk doing any of that dumb stuff.

I'm a 14 yr old female and I'm having trouble on what gifts to get for guys. Girls are so easy (most of the time) to get presents for. But guys...ugh...that's a different story. lol. What kind of present would a guy want? It seems like most of my friends are guys this year, which doesn't make getting presents any easier.

And...there is this one guy that asked me out a while ago. I didn't deny him, but I told him I thought we should hang out more and see how it goes. We've been hanging out a lot now and I'm pretty sure I like him as much as he likes me now. Everyone already thinks we're going out. What kind of gift do you think I should get him?

However much you are planning on spending on him, put that money into gift card form. Ask him some of his favorite stores. I'm buying everyone except really close friends candy. I'm buying those really small bagss, and buying like 10 bags of candy, and putting a bunch of candy in each bag. Unless a friend has said stuff they want. Last year I bought everyone stuff from bath and body works (They sold cologne there too, x-mas special) But this year, I only have about $100 to spend, and last year I had $300. So since I'm down on cash I'm getting my really close friends things they've asked for. But I mean, I've had friends ask for livestrong bracelets, and I'm like, don't buy them, I'll get some for you for x-mas. Or you can do build-a-bear (do you have one near you?) wat perfumes smell rlly godd but arent too expensive?

there are tommy hilfigure perfumes, but like it depends what you consider expensive. Because I like to buy all my perfumes at bath and body works. I think they smell awesome, and depending on what size you get, you can get a thing of perfume under $10. But if you want something much cheaper, go to wal-mart, they have perfumes there, and they're cheap. ~*~*~Edit~*~*~ I just thought of another one... these are probably expensive though, the dessert brand, you know Jessica Simpson's brand.

does anyone know any eyeshadow colors that would look really nice on a dark haired gurl? my face is sorta red all the time too so i duno why tho lol but i heard blue looks really bad on all blondes, but i have a silver and it looks cute.. any others? please!!

silver, pink, blue looks good, depending on the shade. Ummm, light shades of purple, white looks good, maybe teal, or green depending on the shade. Hope I'm of smoe help. I'm a brunette, a lot of my friends are blonde, so I know what looks good on both. And what you said about blue looks really bad on all blondes, if you're dark haired, why would it matter, and no it dosen't a few of my blonde friends look good with blue eyeshadow, you just have to get the right shade, and it has to go somewhat with what you are wearing. Ok so me and my boyfriend broke up like over 5 months ago and after that things just went downhill with our friendship, i mean i tried staying friends with him n talking to him but he didnt seem to want to. So like over the past week everytime I see him, I always get a hug and he's always talking to me in the halls. Then I was at my friends house and he just randomly showed up. I thought I was over him, since he never talked to me but now that he's talking to me and being all nice, I can't stop thinking about our past. I dont know what to do.

Person if it truly is a good excuse. Or if you don't see him a lot in school, call him up and be like I couldn't find you in school today, and I'd rather say this in person, but I'm sorry, I can't go to the dance with you, because ________________________, tell him at least a week before the dance, because it'd be rude to call not too long in advance, you should give him enough time to find another date. So if you see him in school, then be kind enough to say something to his face. Just DON'T do it online, that's the worst. Don't use the computer to break the date. Either phone or person, person being better.

I have a crush on a teacher of mine and I can't get over him. What should I do?

unless you are 18 or older, you have no chance whatsoever, and you need to realize that. Plus, I think even if you were of age, it'd still be against school rules, at least if it's YOUR teacher. Now if it's somebody that teaches at your school, but doesn't actually teach you, and you are both over the age of 18, then it's okay. I have a slight crush on this one teacher Mr. Denton, he is a youth minister type of person at my friends church, and he teacher honors alg.2, so I have no chance w/ him, especially since I'm a freshman, and I have a boyfriend. But at one point or another, everybody will like one of their teachers or think they're hot. I mean, I think my 2nd period teacher is sooo pretty, and even though I hate my 4th period teacher, when she puts her hair up, she's all right looking, and then there's this one other teacher Ms Marburger (related to Tim Marburger, you know, the car dealership people) well she's pretty, she just needs a new wardrobe(They're all girls, I'm a girl, I don't float that boat, sail that ship, or tickle that pickle) but it's okay to think a teacher is really pretty or hot, but to have a crush on them is soooo weird. Do you like have fantasies? Wait, I don't want to know that. But really, you'll have to try to realize it's never going to happen. Try you're hardest to impress that teacher so you can pass his/her class, so you won't be his or her student anymore, so no pressure, and you won't have to see that teacher everyday. If you are in middle school, then hey, I had the biggest crush on this one teacher Mr. Trojan (haha, I love the name) also I thought this one teacher Mr.Wilhoit was pretty good looking (he was like partially bald at the top, but like, he'd look ugly with hair, and he was the coolest ever!) So it's normal to think they're hot, or if you're in 6th or 7th grade, but if you're a high schooler, or in college, then it won't happen unless you're 18 or older. Just admit it to your self out loud. "I have no chance" "It's illegal" "No chance, illegal" Keep saying that to yourself, and you'll get over it. I'm about 5'2 and weigh around 95 lbs..but everyone tells me im really skinny. How much should i weigh if im 5'2?

well, if you go to http://www.am-i-fat.com and find where you can check your weight on the side panel. Enter your height and weight, and it'll say either your BMI, or it'll tell you your weight status. There's a little am I fat quiz, that'll tell you how you are for your age. I personally think you should gain about 7lbs, but that's just my thought. I think you're a tad underweight, but hey, I'm not a doctor, so I'm not positive on that.

^Those are if it's a friend, or somebody that you talk to. Like, me and my friend Chris. Today during e/la he was talking about Finding Neverland, and how it's a 'chick flick' and that a bunch of girls want to go see it w/ him, and he likes my friend brittany, who likes him (niether of them know they like each other.) So I was like, hey, maybe you me britt, n Joel (my b/f) can go see it.

So, if it's somebody you talk to a lot, then just casually bring it up.

Or talk about how you and some friends want to go see, ummm, The Spongebob Squarepants movie coming out on Friday, and make it where he's listening, or where he says something, and then be like, Do you wanna come?

Well, as long as you answer questions, you are able to get rated. Answer a lot, because not everybody rates. And to check your ratings, under where it says Welcome, (your username) the 3rd link down, it should say Your Advice Column, click on that, then at the top somewhere, it should say view feedback, click on that, and you can see your ratings. And if you want to see what questions you answered and got ratings for, click on the number rating, and it'll take you to the question. Hope this isn't too confusing. Oh, and I just realized, your question (copy and pasted... How do i make my self so i cant get rated... Well, that's not possible. Was that a mistake?
