My 15-year-old niece is having a birthday soonish and I'd like to get her a present. She likes reading so I figured a book would be good. What's a book that is of literary quality that a 15-year-old would like, but does not contain any sex or swear words (her mom wouldn't let her read it then)? And don't say the Princess Diaries series, I think she has all those already.

By 15, (at least the reading level for someone who enjoys reading) most books will have bad words in them. Most of the books i read in highschool had bad words in them and sex, etc. there's nothing you can do. (just letting you know before you go crazy trying to find one) anyway, i recommend a gift certificate to a book store she likes. to make it a bit more personal, you can get her a nice basket with some goodies like candy, a bookmark, or something small with the giftcard in it.
if you don't like that idea, i suggest shattering glass. it has some sex in it but not so much it would bother a 15 year old's mom. goodluck!

There's a slight chance that I could be pregnant. First of all, I'm only 15 years old. I recently had sex for the first time (a little over a week ago). We used no protection, and I'm currently not on birth control. Apperently, there's certain days after your period that you can get pregnant. Well, these were one of the days. He didn't cum, but my sister told me about "pre-cum", and apperently..that can get you pregnant too. I'm terrified. I should be starting my period again in about a week, and I'm usually never late. So if I am, should I tell my mom? My mom is a very God-like lady, and when she found out my brother, 19 years old, had sex she was VERY dissappointed in him. I'm 4 years younger..and a baby? hmm. younggrandma is right! don't stress or you will miss it! don't say anything until you are 100% sure you are pregnant... get a test after you miss your period then if you are, THEN mention it. Just relax. lemme know if you need anything!

oh goodness! well, at my high school, we have 8th graders come in to "shadow". one girl that came in was COMPLETELY soaked. it was all over her sweatshirt, all over the chair..EVERYWHERE. she didn't tell her hostess but it was obvious when she left because she "didnt feel good". everyone felt really bad for her and no one really brought it up again. it's ok, it happens to everyone at one point or another. my mom's friend had this happen to her...she was an adult! so just forget about it, you can hold your head up!

I'm due my period during exam time which really sucks!!!!!!!! Sorry if this is gross but I have reeeeeally heavy periods so it's gonna be really hard for me (it's very bad when I stand up after sitting down for a long time - like in an exam). Obviously I will take plently of extra pads and use the highest one but has anyone got any other tips to get me through the exams while I am on my period? I mean normally they are so bad I have to take a day or two off school.
P.S. I want to go on the pill to lighten them but my doc said wait a bit and see if they work themselves out. What can I do in the meantime?????

OH NO! that really stinks! it really depends how long your exams are tho. my biology class is 2 hours and 15 minutes long and we get one break so i know how it is. try wearing a tampon *and* a pad so you don't have to worry. change them between exams. try not to worry about it too much! i think you will be fine wearing both. and yes, bring plenty of extras! goodluck!

(that's like telling a guy to hit himself in the balls to make them change size!) ok, do all kinds of upper body excerizes like push up and weights, wear a minimizing bra, lose weight. that's all you can do. trust me, you will grow into them! you're not gonna stay the same size forever so later it will look more porpotional.
