Exams and periods I'm due my period during exam time which really sucks!!!!!!!! Sorry if this is gross but I have reeeeeally heavy periods so it's gonna be really hard for me (it's very bad when I stand up after sitting down for a long time - like in an exam). Obviously I will take plently of extra pads and use the highest one but has anyone got any other tips to get me through the exams while I am on my period? I mean normally they are so bad I have to take a day or two off school.
P.S. I want to go on the pill to lighten them but my doc said wait a bit and see if they work themselves out. What can I do in the meantime?????

Try using tampons. They really grossed me out at first, but I found that once I got used to them that they're much more comfortable than pads. If you flow really heavy then try using both a pad and a tampon! It gets rid of that gross feeling of squishiness rubbing against your butt. ]
use a tampon and pad at the same time. that way if any leeks out the tampon the pad will catch it. i wouldnt worry about it to much. ull be fine im sure. hope i helped XoXo plz rate ]
Ohh that really sucks. Just wear a pad and a tampon.

Heyy hun.
That sucks major. But, to lighten your period you're gonna wanna drink alot of fluids and try eating a banana every morning before school while you have it, it's suposed to help. Also, if you're uncomfortable wearing tampons, you could try wearing two pads. Not ontop of eachother, but spread them out so they spread across all of your underwear. It'll prevent leaks and make you feel more relaxed and let you concentrate on your exams.
Good luck <3 Heather ]
OH NO! that really stinks! it really depends how long your exams are tho. my biology class is 2 hours and 15 minutes long and we get one break so i know how it is. try wearing a tampon *and* a pad so you don't have to worry. change them between exams. try not to worry about it too much! i think you will be fine wearing both. and yes, bring plenty of extras! goodluck! <3 ]
Have you tried using tampons? If you are able (comfortable using one and your parents do not mind) to use a tampon, you can try using a regular / heavy flow tampon along with a sanitary napkin. This will help tremendously.
Drink water. Stay away from caffinated drinks - this includes Gatorade, coffee, sodas of all kinds, and flavored water. Eat healthily, a lot of fruit and veggies and lean meats. Lean meats include sea food, pork [excluding bacon], deer meat, chicken, and fish. Exercise regurally. A fair amount of exercise while you're on your period (and at all times) will help you feel better.

If you can't use a tampon and you feel there is no other way, perhaps you can explain to your teacher. If it's a man, that could get interesting, but I'm sure he'll understand.

well what i do is i want to the very last min before i go then i use a tampon and a pad (i have a heavy period and i can usually got most of the day with that) also try not to eat breakfast.. i tend not to get my period until i start eating that day so maybe it will work for you.. or i would recomend snacking so not all the food is going in and out at once.. that might make it lighter for you. also try not to always be in like period mode.. like i get really overly concerned about it but if i just let it go i will be fine and i wont leack or anything and my fear is like making it worse ]
I think tha if you wore a tampon ad then use a pad also it will stop you from leaking so bad. I think tampons are uncomfortably so i usa pads but it might not be uncomfortable for you. If you dont like wearing tampons either then wear two pads and after you are done taking your exam go to the bathroom and check it if it is bad bring some extra pads so you can change it. I know what it is like to have a heavy flow it didnt stop until i was about 17 or 18 but it might be better for you if you wait like your doctor. ]
Try using a tampon! Your question makes it seem like you ALWAYS use pads. Pads are horribly uncomfortable, so why endure the torture?? You won't even remember you have your period if you were one! ]
