Q: Hi All,

I am thinking about taking classes to become a dog trainer. I have a lot of hands on experience already, but I have the feeling that a certification will be important. Eventually I'd like to start my own business. There is obviously a shortage of qualified trainers and many people own dogs. So I see a need for this.

So what do you think, would you rather attend classes given by a certified instructor or a self taught person?

I can buy many books on the subject and it will be cheaper than the tuition for a coorespondence course.

How about personal consultations in the home? If you could afford it wouldn't that be better than a class with 20 people and their dogs?

...

To be honest, certification doesn't particularly impress me. A classroom cannot compare to real-life experience. I know so many people who are very good (and the best I've ever met) at what they do, but they don't have a "degree" in it, and yet they have to bail-out people who DO have a degree in it. I see this over and over again. It's come to the point that I'm automatically suspicious of people who DO have certification, rather than those who don't. ;-)

But, as already mentioned in another answer, if someone is after a piece of paper, and you have to be certified in order for them to get their piece of paper, then those people won't be coming to you if you don't have certification.

Your best clients would probably be people who just want help with their dogs, and aren't looking for any kind of certification.

That would be someone like me, and as you can probably already tell, I would have no problem taking classes from a person who wasn't certified.

However, certified or not, unless I had personal experience with you, I would do my homework. If you had references, that would help. Also, letting me sit in on a class (without my dog present) to get an idea of how you work would also go a long way in helping me to feel assured that your classes are up my alley. As would sitting down with you and getting an overview of your personal methods.

The private classes are a good idea for some people. But it's not quite the same. Some people want to be in a distracting environment with other dogs, as this not only helps their dogs to socialize, it helps them to learn to be obedient even with distractions. If people plan on taking their dog out a lot, they will probably want the communal class. If it's someone who is housebound, doesn't plan on taking their dog out much, or doesn't particularly care about socializing their dog, they should be fine with home consultations, and might quite possibly prefer them.

I would think that home consultations would also be well-suited for particular behavior problems that happen in the home. Obviously it's important to correct behavior when they are actually "doing" the behavior.

At any rate, I think it's great that you want to be an obedience trainer. I agree that we need more of that. I kind of wish obedience training was a requirement of owning a dog! ;-)

Q: Why do teenage girls with boyfriends feel to need to refer to their boyfriends' mothers as "mother-in-law"? ...Is that just the new "thing to do" now? Last time I checked, someone isn't your mother-in-law unless you were married to her son or daughter, not merely dating them in high school. To me it sounds really funny, "15/f like omg my mother-in-law blah blah blah"...ummm... no. So can someone explain this to me? It's really hard to take questions like that seriously. haha
...

Maybe it makes them feel more "legit"? Maybe subconsciously they feel guilty for what they are doing outside of marriage, so they try to feel "married"? I'm not sure.

What I do know is that it's annoying. The very phrase "mother-in-law" means they are your mother legally by marriage. Thus the "in-law" part of the phrase. Obviously their boyfriend's mother is not legally their mother by marriage, so it's just plain ignorant and annoying.

Is this about the same amount of calories that you normally eat? I'm assuming it's not. Can you live with this diet for the rest of your life?

If you keep dieting and breaking it, that WILL make you gain weight and lower your metabolism. It's called yo-yo dieting. You are better to never diet at all, than to eat less for a while, then go back to eating normally.

The best "diet" is one you can live with for the rest of your life. In the case of most people, that means, eating very close to what they normally eat.

So how do you lose weight eating normally? Build muscle. I know you mention that you exercise, but most people only do aerobic type exercises, that increase your heart rate and such. While aerobic exercises are good too they aren't for building muscle specifically. Lift weights. Weight train. You're not going to get bulky like muscle builders if you don't want to, but muscle burns fat. The more muscle you have, the more fat you burn. Even when sitting or sleeping. You start losing weight naturally, even if you are eating the same.

100 years ago and longer, there weren't as many fat people as there are today. And yet everybody ate butter, not margarine. Everybody drank whole milk (with the cream too!) not skim milk. Shortening was Lard! One of the biggest flavor additives to dishes was animal fat! There were no artificial sweeteners. So why are people so much fatter today? (well, besides the fact that we eat so many unnatural, man-made foods) Because people back then had to be very physically active and had muscles! Even the women had to be strong and have muscles, just imagine washing every item of clothing on a wash board. If you are physically active and have nice healthy muscle tone, what you eat shouldn't matter nearly as much.

Now on the other hand, if you try to eat less than your body is used to, (diet) your body will think that it's in a famine period, and will panic. If your body thinks it's starving, it tries to make sure to save your life, by lowering your metabolism (so you don't burn as many calories) and by storing away even more fat when you start eating more normally because it's afraid there will be another famine and it doesn't want to die. Remember, in all the thousands of years of human history, people usually had to struggle for food. Your body is made to deal with famines and keep you alive. That's why it's so common to gain even more weight than before when going off of a diet. And if you do it again and again, you get heavier and heavier every time you try to diet.

So bottom line, exercise and weight train. Don't rely on the scales to tell you how you are doing because muscle weighs more than fat! Rely on how your clothes fit, or use a measuring tape to keep track of your body shape.

One more tip, don't drink diet sodas or anything with artificial sweeteners in it (NutraSweet, aspartame, equal). That includes sugar free yogurt too. It actually increases your appetite, and one of the known side effects of that sweetener (that the FDA actually admits to) is "Weight Gain"! Weight loss isn't even listed as a side effect of NutraSweet. Ironic, isn't it? It's also horribly bad for you, and it nearly killed me when I was around 20. If you want more info on that, or anything else, you can mail me at DangerWench@gmail.com

Q: How can you tell if a guy really loves you or is just interested in sex? I rate high!
...

Tell him you have decided to wait for marriage to have sex (or to have any more sex, if you aren't a virgin). If he really loves you, he'll stay with you anyway and won't try to get you to change your mind. If he doesn't really love you, he'll eventually find some excuse to leave after he realizes you aren't going to change your mind.

Q: Heres my new mail plan:
breakfast: bagel with cream cheese;;
lunch:sandwich ( whole grain bread ), one serving ( in a little bag ) of sunchips, maybe a fruit, and a whole grain crunchy bar thingy..( nature valley )
snack after school; blueberries
lunch; whatever, but in perportion and nothing way out there

2 glasses of milk a day
icetea/water ( unlimitied diet tea )

60 minutes of gazelle a week
3 exercise videos ( firm;pilates;yoga)
and one walk

will this help me lose weight?

any tips or advice? thanks in advance

much love

ASPARTAME MAKES YOU FATTER!

Position Statement from Sandra Cabot, M.D.,

I have been a medical doctor for 23 years and have clinical and research interests in the liver and metabolism. I have authored several best selling health books including the "Liver Cleansing Diet", "The Body Shaping Diet", "Don't Let Your Hormones Ruin Your Life", "Women's Health", "Menopause and Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy" and I lecture internationally on these subjects. I have been consulted by thousands of patients with weight problems, hormonal imbalances, fatty liver, sluggish metabolism and chronic ill health. I have been an advocate and practitioner of nutritional methods of healing for 30 years. I regularly appear on national television and broadcast on many radio stations to educate people about the importance of a healthy liver in achieving good health and weight control!

In the interests of public health I am making a position statement concerning the use of the artificial sweetener called aspartame and sold most commonly under the names of NutraSweet and Equal. One must ask, "why do millions of people ingest a toxic chemical like aspartame everyday"? To me it appears ridiculous and I believe that it is because people have been brainwashed into thinking aspartame will keep their weight down and is good for health.

Also, aspartame has a lot of other side effects much worse than weight gain, and it almost killed me when I was younger (I had started drinking diet sodas since it was very first approved in the 80s). For more information on how it almost killed me, you can go read my answer to this question:

Q: Please do not delete Im honestly 100% want to know this.
Do you believe in Aliens?
Life on other planets, Aliens.
Thank you.
...

Ok, here is what I honestly think.

I do believe there are "aliens", but that they are not what television and movies portray them to be.

I believe aliens are demonic in nature. Yes, that may sound crazy to some people, but so does the concept of "aliens", period. I've never understood why some people would gladly believe in "aliens", but refuse to even contemplate that perhaps they are demonic entities.

To give you a good example, have you ever heard of Aleister Crowley? About 100 years ago, or so, he was a noted occultist who called himself "The Beast 666". He wrote how-to books on magick and contacting "astral" guides whom he called "angels". This guy was a straight-up satanist.

In 1919 he drew a picture of one of his "astral contacts". To see the picture he drew, go to this page and scroll down a bit:

http://www.mt.net/~watcher/ufos.html

And remember, this was drawn in 1919, long before anybody had ever heard of the "grey alien" thing.

If you want to hear a really good explanation on aliens, & UFOs, listen to "Return of the Nephilim" by Chuck Missler. You can find it here:

http://www.khouse.org/6640/BP052/

You can also find that on your favorite p2p network.

Or you can watch his "Alien Encounters" videos here:

http://www.khouse.org/pages/special_events/alien_encounters/

Those explain things far better than I could.

Edited to add: I personally believe that "aliens" may play a big part of the "end-times deceptions" talked about in the Bible. What could be more perfect than for the demonic forces to show up looking like aliens and claiming that they created us, or that Mary was abducted by them and artificially inseminated, or whatever else they think would get most of the world to turn away from Yahweh (God) and Yeshua (Christ).

The deceptions of the end times are supposed to be so convincing that "if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect." I believe the world is being set up to receive the alien/demonic deception with open arms.

Q: Recently, I have been having difficulty in concentrating, making decisions, and being confident in myself. Could this be signs of the dysthymic disorder? If so, how can I be able to treat it myself?
...

This may seem kind of out-of-the-blue, but I had something similar happen to me when I was younger... hard to think, mind in a fog, memory getting worse, (along with some other symptoms). I eventually found out it was caused by Aspartame (NutraSweet). Do you drink diet soda? Or anything that might have NutraSweet or Equal in it?

If so, you can find out more about it by scrolling down to my answer to this question:

http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=411451

Q: okay well i am on a diet and ive only been drinking water and 2% milk but are there any other drinks out there that are okay for me to drink besides like diet pop (under 80 calories and 10g of sugar per 8 oz.)

and i dont like orange juice (i think that fits under my thing)
...

Do NOT drink diet soda. I don't care what your doctor says, I have lived through the horror of what diet soda can do to you. It almost killed me though heart arrhythmia, and has caused permanent damage to my hearing, memory, and vision. This isn't something I just read about on the internet, this actually happened to both me and my mother. Aspartame/NutraSweet is EVIL!

I fully expected to get a low rating from this answer, but that's OK. Maybe one of these days, you will remember what I have said here and it will save your life. Doctors have said that a lot of things are OK through the years, only to find out they were wrong.

No, I didn't specifically answer your question, but your question was involving things to drink that are good for a healthy diet. Since one of the things you listed is death to a healthy diet, it was important to tell you.

Oh, and by the way, "Weight Gain" is one of the symptoms of consuming NutraSweet, if that one is more important to you than all the rest. Read here for info on that:

Q: Im a christian.
But i feel like, i need to do something to make my prayers heard. Or something its really hard to explain, i almost feel like i have no connect with god.
How do i become a "better" christian?
i suppose thats what im asking.

..

Here are some things that have helped me.

The most important thing we have done in these past few years, is to start using the actual names of God and Christ when praying. This may get a little long, but believe me, this is important.

God's name used to appear nearly 7,000 times in the Bible, but somewhere along the line someone decided His name was too sacred, so they substituted it with the words Lord and The Lord. My personal opinion is that if God didn't want us to use His name, he wouldn't have had it in the Bible 1,000s of times, and indeed, we wouldn't even know His name. It's hard to have a relationship when you can't even call someone by name.

His name appears in the old Hebrew Scriptures as four Hebrew letters, which are most closely represented by the letters YHVH (aka the Tetragammaton). The most accepted pronunciation of this is Yahweh. (sounds like YAH-way).

Try addressing God by His name, Yahweh. He had it in the Bible nearly 7,000 times, that makes me think He would like us to use it.

Here is a link with some more info on that:

http://www.eliyah.com/whythlrd.htm

And another discussing why using His real name is a good thing:

http://www.eliyah.com/name.html

---

Next we have the issue with Christ's name. When Christ walked this earth, nobody called Him "Jesus" because that wasn't His name. The name "Jesus" is a twice removed translation of Christ's real name. Which is silly because a name is a name, you're not supposed to translate those. It's kind of like if my name is Sabrina, I don't want people calling me Brittany because that's not my name. I don't care how many thousands of years it's been, my name still isn't Brittany!

Christ's real Hebrew name, what they actually called Him while He was here in the flesh on earth, is Yeshua. (sounds like yeh-SHOE-a). It's sometimes spelled a little differently, depending on who you ask (Yahushua, Yahshua, Y'shuah, Yehoshua), but it's pronounced pretty much the same.

He is also referred to more formally as Yeshua HaMashiach. The last word, (sounds like ha-mah-SHE-ock) means "The Messiah".

I cannot begin to explain how much closer I feel to Yahweh and Yeshua now that I am using Their real names.

If you are more comfortable, you can use both names for Christ when praying. For instance, ending a prayer with something like: "In the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, I pray. Amen."

We personally plan on finding a church where we can be baptized in Yeshua's name, we feel that strongly about it.

For more info on the names, see this link:

http://www.eliyah.com/names.html

---

Though you probably already know this, it's important enough that I'll say it anyway. Yahweh listens to a repentant heart.

"1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil."

We all do things we shouldn't. We all have wicked thoughts. We have all sinned, and we all struggle against it. That's why we need to humbly repent and ask forgiveness.

Might I suggest that the next time you pray, you repent and ask forgiveness in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach.

---

One more thing has to do with your state of mind. Anger and resentment can weigh you down and interfere with your prayers. Let go of any anger or resentments you have. Forgive the ones you are angry towards. We are supposed to love our enemies. Try letting these things go, and forgiving anyone you have a grudge against. Realize that even though you may feel those people don't deserve it, none of us deserve what He did for us, but He did it anyway.

I sincerely hope this helps. If you need anything else, or you would like to provide any further details about what is happening and need an outside opinion about it, email me at DangerWench@gmail.com

Q: I have two cats. One is an elderly cat +10 years of age, the other is almost a year old. The younger one was adopted from the Human Society and he's extremely loving so my cats adjusted ok to each other. The only problem I'm having now, is at night when I'm trying to sleep, the kitten wants to play. He makes noise all night long, playing with everything from his water bowl to my video games to just jumping off the furniture. I'd swear I had an elephant in my apartment sometimes. How can I get him to calm down more at night so I can sleep?
...

Try to have a good play session with him an hour or two before you go to sleep.

You could also schedule one of his feedings right before your bedtime. A full tummy can make a kitty sleepy.

If you don't have time to play with him, try something like a Panic Mouse:

http://www.panicmouseinc.com/

We haven't gotten one of these yet, but we've been meaning to. If you had one, you could bring it out and turn it on about an hour or so before you go to bed, and maybe that would tire your kitty out. :-)

Q: I have really bad dandruff on the back of my head and there are like yellow spots on my scalp there

is there any way i can take care of this????

thanksss
...

Try apple cider vinegar. Seriously.

It may be easier to put it in a squirt bottle and apply it to your scalp that way, but coat your scalp with apple cider vinegar, massage it in, and let it sit for about 20 minutes (it varies, you can try less time and see how you do). You can wrap your head in a spare towel if you like, or sit in the tub or stand in the shower for 20 minutes, whatever suits you.

Then go ahead and rinse it out and wash your hair as you normally do. Well, you may want to wash it a few times because of the vinegar smell.

If it still smells a bit like vinegar when you are done, you can try spraying some good smelling conditioner or styler on your hair.

Just do this as needed. After the first few treatments you may only need to do this once a week or once a month. If you start getting flaky again, then use the treatment again.

If this doesn't work, you may have a different kind of dandruff (there are many types), and in that case, other than trying differently formulated dandruff shampoos, you may want to see a dermatologist.

Q: ok i have a serious question
i bidded on something on ebay and i really dont want it anymore

can u plz plz tell me what happenes when you dont pay for something on these?!
...

The best thing for you to do would be to pay for any items you win, whether you want them or not. You did bid on them and if you are the winning bidder, you are supposed to honor your bid, according to the eBay terms you agreed to when you signed up to eBay.

If you really, really don't want the items, the next best thing you could do is to contact the seller(s)whose item(s) you won and explain you made a mistake, and (this is VERY important) offer to pay their listing fees for your mistake.

You see, the seller has to pay eBay the listing fees for selling the item, whether or not you pay for it, they are out money. If you offer to pay those fees, the seller might agree not to turn you in as a NPB (Non-Paying Bidder).

If you can't get your seller(s) to agree to that, or if you simply win and don't pay, expect to receive negative feedback, and a complaint against you as a Non-Paying-Bidder. If you receive a few of those complaints (and/or too much negative feedback) you will become NARU (Not A Registered User) as eBay will not allow you to bid anymore.

Q: What do the numbers after a person's name mean in the bible?

ex- Mark 16:16
...

As the others have already mentioned, the first number is the chapter and the 2nd is the verse.

What I wanted to add, is a link to a place which is a great resource for searching the Bible:

http://www.blueletterbible.org/

At the top is a drop-down box with all of the books listed, and out from that you can type the number for the chapter and verse you want.

Below that is a place you can use to search the Bible using keywords. It's very handy if you know a few words of a verse you are looking for but can't remember where it is.

Q: Very recently, I found out one of my very best friends (a girl, I am a guy)got a boyfriend. This only happened recently, and I found out via myspace while I was bored and looking through other profiles. I came across hers and noticed all the comments about it, and I looked and checked and found out it was true. No one told me, I just happened across it (although, I am sure I would have found out by tomarrow)

I knew they were good friends, and when I read it, I was happy at first. But soon my happiness for her turned into a sick feeling in my stomach and I felt on the verge of a collapse. I felt sick and desperatly wanted to just go and die. To go away and maybe wake up and realize it wasn't true, to hope it wasn't true. And as reality settled into my mind, I felt the urge to do something I have almost never done, cry.

Every part of my mind says I should be happy for her, to be so glad she finally found someone decent. And I really want to, but my heart won't let me. She has always been there for me and has helped me through alot of bad times and vice versa, I have done the same for her. We've been friends for awile now, and I was always one she would come to for help, and I would do the same thing. I care for her as much as I humanly can.

I don't know why I feel this way, I shouldn't feel this way and yet I do, there is something in me that just won't accept it and is rejecting it completely.

Can anyone please tell me why I still feel like I do? Why a part of me just won't accept it. Won't let me be happy for her?

You have my most sincere thanks...

It sounds very much like your feelings for her are more than just "friend" feelings. Your discovery of her boyfriend has just brought the truth out into the light for you.

This is a tough situation.

You could tell her your feelings, and run the risk of alienating her because from her point of view you waited until she had a boyfriend to tell her. It depends on her real feelings for this guy. Is he a "desperation" boyfriend? A boyfriend just for the sake of being able to say she has a boyfriend? Or is he someone she has liked for a while and has strong feelings for?

You could bide your time and wait and see what happens. Statistically speaking, these things don't usually last, though, of course, there are exceptions.

If he's a really good guy and she seems happy with him, there's not much you can, or should, do, other than allow time to ease the pain.

But then again if he's a jerk, and you point it out to her or talk about him in an even slightly negative way, she might resent you for it. (girls are like that.)

Like I said, it's a tough situation. If you are a Christian, my advice is to pray for guidance about it.

Q: I was just wondering if there were people on here older then 20?
...

I'm also 35.

Q: I'm suddenly a vegeterian, 2 days ago in the mail I got this magazine and a cd from PETA which is apart of goveg.com. Everytime I think about trying to eat meat, I keep getting the images from what I saw on the DVD stuck in my head.

Does anyone know any good vegeterian meals. I'm don't like peppers and onions and almost every premade meal such as veggie burgers have them in it.
My husband is a vegetarian. He still eats eggs and milk, and some fish.

He also doesn't like a lot of vegetables like peppers. Here are some of the things that we tend to eat. This list includes animal-derived products like milk and eggs:

~PASTAS~

Macaroni & Cheese

Spaghetti with cheese sauce or other spaghetti sauce, or just plain with butter.

Lasagna made with spaghetti sauce and cheeses.

Boxed pasta mixes like angel-hair parmesan. (when buying boxed pasta mixes read the ingredient lists, some of them have chicken broth in them)

~RICE~

We have a cheap $14 rice cooker and have rice-based meals 2-3 times a week. Examples:

Cooked rice topped with cream of celery soup (made with 2/3's can of milk per can of soup), shredded cheese, chopped celery, and chow mien noodles.

Or rice topped with vegetarian chili and cheese (the chili has peppers and onions cooked in it, though but he still likes it.)

Or one we haven't tried yet, but almost did today, rice topped with a can of vegetarian re-fried beans, cheese, and sour cream.

~BEANS & MEXICAN~

As someone mentioned, there are a lot of good vegetarian Mexican dishes.

You can get vegetarian re-fried beans and do a ton of things with those.

The obvious one is to get flour tortillas and fill them with the beans and other things like cheese, sour cream (onions for people who like them) salsa or whatever, and make bean burritos.

You can also get plain nacho chips and top them with re-fried beans, cheese, and whatever else you like on nachos.

A fun one that hubby likes occasionally is to take some tater tots and top them with re-fried beans, cheese, and sour cream.

Besides re-fried beans there are also plenty of bean soup dishes out there. Sometimes we have just plain old "soup beans" as they are known in the south. It's just a soup made from a bag of pinto beans, water and salt. But it's good. :-)

There are also vegetarian baked beans, but those usually have onions in them.

~MISC~

Cheese sandwiches made how you like them, are always an option, as is grilled cheese.

Mashed potatoes. Instant potatoes. Baked potatoes. Fried potatoes.

Frozen french fries or tater tots. Frozen bean burritos. Frozen cheese pizzas. Frozen corn-dogs (Morningstar Farms vegetarian. I love these with mustard.) Frozen fish sticks (if you eat fish). Frozen fish patty sandwiches.

Tomato soup, vegetarian vegetable soup, lentil soup, minestrone, "Oriental" flavored Ramen Noodles.

Tuna salad sandwiches. Fried Egg sandwiches. Hard-boiled egg sandwiches (aka egg salad sandwiches). Peanut butter sandwiches.

Premade salad-in-a-bag with your favorite dressing.

Canned or frozen veggies like corn, peas, spinach, green beans, etc.

Cottage cheese, potato salad, macaroni salad.

Lots of different breads and cheeses.

Nuts of all kinds. Popcorn (not microwaved).

And of course, whatever kinds of raw fruits and veggies you like from the produce section.

--

I'm sure you could add plenty more to this list because this is just a quick list of things we eat. And he doesn't like a lot of things like mushrooms or cabbage, so I don't have things like that listed.

I noticed the Google Ads on this page have a few links listed for vegetarian meals. If they are still there, you could try checking those out, or doing your own search in Google:

Good luck.

Q: I was shopping yesterday and I bought a shirt and my total was 17 dollars and something cents. Well I grabbed into my wallet and thought I pulled out a 20 and gave it to the casher.

I don't know if she wasn't paying attention or what but after she put the bill into the register, she asked me what I gave her. I said it was a 20 because I thought it was.

When I was at home I was looking through my wallet and I REALIZED THAT I GAVE HER A 100 DOLLAR BILL!

Now I don't know if it's too late to go back tomorrow and see if I can get my money back. Would they give it to me??
Well, I could be wrong... BUT...

The fact that she asked you what you handed her, isn't a good sign. She should know exactly what you handed her, as different bills go in different slots in the drawer, and it was only a single bill you handed her. If she put it in the 20 slot, she could have just looked down to see what it was and that it didn't belong there.

It sounds to me like she tucked it away into the 100 slot, noticed you were distracted with something (or maybe heard you say something about a 20 at some point) and then decided to try to see if she could pocket an extra $80.

If you go to the store, talk to the manager and ask them if they had an $80 surplus when they were counting out the receipts for that day. If they did, you may be able to get your money back, since you knew that. If they didn't, the clerk probably pocketed it. Your only hope then is that a surveillance camera caught the whole thing.

Q: Ohkay, let's say im sick, just congestion. Like my nose is all stuffy. And i go out and by a naysel spray. if i take too much of that even by accident, can i permenantely damage my brian or body?
As long as you use it as directed, you should be fine. Even accidentally spraying too big of a dose shouldn't hurt you, other than what runs down the back of your nose/throat and kind of burns.

But make sure to read the directions. It will almost certainly say something like "do not use for more than 7 days".

The reason for this is because it's very easy to become addicted to nasal spray. I should know, I've only been "clean" for about 2 months, after years of using it multiple times a day.

It's not a drug addiction type of addiction, it's simply that your nasal passages get so used to the spray, it gets to where they won't stay clear without it. It also lessened my sense of smell.

You can find tons more info with this search:

only search advicenators.com

Anybody who finds themselves addicted may want to try what I'm currently using:

http://www.sinusbuster.com/

It's helping me to get over the nasal spray. I'm usually clear enough to be able to eat and taste food, though I still can't breathe freely through my nose at night. :-(

Anyway, this was just a long way of saying, follow the directions, and don't use the spray for very long, no matter how tempting it is. You don't want to go through this, it's miserable. Trust me.

I'm DangerNerd's wife. We met on an internet personals site back in December, 1996. He flew across country to meet me for the first time in late February of 1997, and we were married a few weeks later. We've been together 9 years now. :-)

If you want to mail me, my email is DangerWench@gmail.com

Yes, I do sometimes copy and paste my own answers to answer different people's similar questions. I still personalize/edit them when necessary... but for instance, my advice about diet and exercise it going to be pretty much the same every time, and that's a very common subject for questions here... so there's no point in typing the same thing over and over and over again. ;-)

Yes, hubby and I were both virgins on our wedding night, at the age of 26. Yes, we are both Christians, but we greatly dislike what "Christianity" (or "Churchianity") has come to represent in many people's minds these days... Hypocrisy, greed, pride... Things which the Bible says we are NOT supposed to do. We are supposed to be a good example, not a bad one. :-(

If you have a Christian acquaintance who is hitting you over the head with "Jesus will bring you peace and joy and happiness" tell them to listen to this:

http://www.dangernerd.com/kirkcameron.mp3

(It's 9 megs, so it may take a bit to download)

If you can't download MP3's for some reason, you can download the zip file.

http://www.dangernerd.com/kirkcameron.zip

If they are an actual preacher/pastor, this one is geared more towards them:

http://www.dangernerd.com/raycomfort.zip

Send them the link, or burn it to CD and give it to them, whatever it takes.

If they really listen to that, they will see how the Bible itself says the way they are annoying you is wrong. :-)

If you are a Christian, please listen to it, even if you aren't beating people over the head with Jesus. I promise you, it will give you a new perspective. It's totally awesome.

I'm also fascinated by prophesy, and I do think we are living in an age where we are seeing many things come true that were prophesied 1,000's of years ago.

There has been a lot of hubbub lately regarding my views on the differences between Catholicism and *exclusively* Bible-Based Christianity... Mostly due to my not making myself clear. I did have a big long explanation here, but this time I will opt for the KISS method (Keep It Simple, Stupid). Yes, the following is the simplified version. ;-)

The Catholic Church believes that the Bible is not the only authority. Their teachings include such documentation as Catechisms, and Papal Encyclicals (defined as "authoritative teaching instruments from the Vicar of Christ" (the Pope)) which have been written and added to throughout the years of the history of the Catholic Church.

Because of this, the Catholic Church has many teachings, beliefs, and traditions that are different from a Christian who believes the Holy Bible is the exclusive authority of Christianity.

A Catholic Christian believes in the Catholic doctrines, teachings, and traditions which include, but are *not exclusive to* the Holy Bible.

Most non-Catholic Christians believe the Holy Bible is the *exclusive* authority of Christianity... No other documents.

Much argument comes from this, as quite a few non-Catholic Christians (myself included) believe many of the man-made Catholic doctrines to be un-Christian and not corresponding with Biblical scripture. And obviously, Catholics disagree.

For more information about the differences between Catholicism and *exclusively* Bible-Based Christianity, see the following link:

Roman Catholic Doctrine vs. The Holy Bible

And a final note about that link... That e-book isn't written by Jack Chick, I have a lot of problems with Mr. Chick. Some of his tracts are great, and some of them are way "out there" if you know what I mean. I do not support Jack Chick. This e-book is written by Rick Jones, who was a Catholic for many years, not Chick.

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
