okay well i am on a diet and ive only been drinking water and 2% milk but are there any other drinks out there that are okay for me to drink besides like diet pop (under 80 calories and 10g of sugar per 8 oz.)
and i dont like orange juice (i think that fits under my thing)
Erinn_the_bamf answered Sunday January 29 2006, 11:01 am: Water is the absolute best thing to drink. It is the most healthy and natural drink in the world. Stop drinking 2% milk switch to 1% or skim. No diet soda. Everyone says it's good for you but that isn't true. It uses loads of chemicals to sweetan it without using sugar. Try drinking the Crystal light drinks. They are very good. I also like the flavored waters. Try making your own iced tea. Buy tea bags and put them in large pitchers of water. Leave them out in the sun for a few hours and then take them inside and take out the tea bags. If yu like lemon iced tea do the same thing but put in lemons. advice-anyone answered Sunday January 29 2006, 10:59 am: Cranberry juice (maybe not the best tasting) Tomato juice, carrot juice, apple juice, really any kind of juice that is unconcentrated with no sugar preservatives. [ advice-anyone's advice column | Ask advice-anyone A Question ]
ncblondie answered Sunday January 29 2006, 10:06 am: You can try unsweetened tea. If you can handle the taste, try unsweetened grapefruit juice. Try flavored water. V8 is another option, especially the low-sodium version.
This isn't really a drink suggestion, just a tip to help with water retention. Watch your sodium intake. Salt actually makes you retain more water. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]

Do NOT drink diet soda. I don't care what your doctor says, I have lived through the horror of what diet soda can do to you. It almost killed me though heart arrhythmia, and has caused permanent damage to my hearing, memory, and vision. This isn't something I just read about on the internet, this actually happened to both me and my mother. Aspartame/NutraSweet is EVIL!

I fully expected to get a low rating from this answer, but that's OK. Maybe one of these days, you will remember what I have said here and it will save your life. Doctors have said that a lot of things are OK through the years, only to find out they were wrong.
No, I didn't specifically answer your question, but your question was involving things to drink that are good for a healthy diet. Since one of the things you listed is death to a healthy diet, it was important to tell you.
Oh, and by the way, "Weight Gain" is one of the symptoms of consuming NutraSweet, if that one is more important to you than all the rest. Read here for info on that:

ASPARTAME MAKES YOU FATTER!
Position Statement from Sandra Cabot, M.D.,
I have been a medical doctor for 23 years and have clinical and research interests in the liver and metabolism. I have authored several best selling health books including the "Liver Cleansing Diet", "The Body Shaping Diet", "Don't Let Your Hormones Ruin Your Life", "Women's Health", "Menopause and Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy" and I lecture internationally on these subjects. I have been consulted by thousands of patients with weight problems, hormonal imbalances, fatty liver, sluggish metabolism and chronic ill health. I have been an advocate and practitioner of nutritional methods of healing for 30 years. I regularly appear on national television and broadcast on many radio stations to educate people about the importance of a healthy liver in achieving good health and weight control!
In the interests of public health I am making a position statement concerning the use of the artificial sweetener called aspartame and sold most commonly under the names of NutraSweet and Equal. One must ask, "why do millions of people ingest a toxic chemical like aspartame everyday"? To me it appears ridiculous and I believe that it is because people have been brainwashed into thinking aspartame will keep their weight down and is good for health.

TheLoveDoctor answered Wednesday January 25 2006, 7:39 pm: first, ditch the 2%. thats the worst milk you could be drinking. try drinking 1% or skim. lots and lots of water helps you shed pounds. its a weight watchers secret. =P if you want something with flavor get low calorie flavored water. i know it stinks, but water is your best choice if you really want to lose weight [ TheLoveDoctor's advice column | Ask TheLoveDoctor A Question ]
MikeCFT answered Wednesday January 25 2006, 6:56 pm: Good on the water, theres nothing better for you in the world. If you really are dieting then I would suggest fat free or skim milk over 2%. I really dont ever recommend too many varying drinks to the people I train as this can sometimes confuse the body chemistry. Diet soda is GARBAGE no matter what Coca-Cola or their label says. People read the nutrition facts and neglect the ingredients. If you must switch drinks I would stick with Crystal Lite or preferably unsweetened iced tea (if you must sweeten it, use Splenda)
