Mark is one of the books of the Bible.

the first 16 means the chapter (you'll see a big-ish 16 in the middle of text........... after 15 of course) and teh second 16 means the verse... that will be the smaller 16 in the middle of text.

So in the 16th chapter of Mark, verse 16 will be what you are looking for.

Believin' in Him together and forever,

Mark 16:16 means

The Gospel of Mark Chapter 16 verse 16.

or John 6:24-36 means

The Gospel of John chapter 6 verse 24-36. I recommend you read the Gospels and acts.

tickle_me_elmoXoXo answered Tuesday January 24 2006, 5:40 pm:
The chapter and each line has a number for ex.

1.I love the way you made me feel.
2.Around you i felt so real.
3.So let go of my heart, thought it may hurt.
4.If you don't it will hurt worse.

The chapter are not the books like mark and luke and john but rather the number of a new story, the big numbers basically.

...

As the others have already mentioned, the first number is the chapter and the 2nd is the verse.

What I wanted to add, is a link to a place which is a great resource for searching the Bible:

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

At the top is a drop-down box with all of the books listed, and out from that you can type the number for the chapter and verse you want.

Below that is a place you can use to search the Bible using keywords. It's very handy if you know a few words of a verse you are looking for but can't remember where it is.

The first 16 is the chapter, and the second 16 is the verse.

If you find the book of Mark in the bible, you'll see a 16 next to the name, that's the chapter, then where they tell the stories, you'll see that they have little numbers next to the sentences, that's the verse. So that'll be Mark 16:16. Hope i didn't confuse you. But if you need me to explain it to you, then drop on in the inbox. ♥
