Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?

ok so i thought i just had a cold but today i woke up and i could barely talk!! it hasn't gotten any better because i dont know what to do to make it get better...does anyone have any good idea? by the way i can't go to the doctor until sunday so i need ideas that can get me through the weekend! thanks!

Hot drinks (I know it's almost summer but cold drinks will only make it feel temporarily better), especially "hot lemonade" (boiled water, lemon juice, and honey- sounds nasty but tastes fine).
Avoid talking as much as possible- carry around a notepad.
Advil or ibuprofen (ask your parents first).
Other than that, you just have to wait it out.

I need to get a new perfume, and I want my boyfriend to like it. What are some inexpensive (under $35) perfumes that guys will like? I started wearing JLO Still, but my boyfriend never even commented it.. and also my mom said it smelled bad. Any other suggestions?

Search specifically for The Sims 2 Cheats because they're different than the sims 1 cheats- rosebud doesn't work anymore.

Go to buy mode, then hit the shift, control, and C keys, in that order, holding them done. For $1000, type Kaching. For $50,000, type Motherlode. Then hit enter.

How do I delete songs off of my iPod? I have a nano (if that matters) and I have tried right clicking the songs to delete them but nothing happens.

After you right click, click on Clear. Or just press the 'DELETE' key.

Can you delete songs off your ipod.. if so how?

Yes. Plug your ipod into the computer using the USB cord it came with, then open Itunes. Click on the link on the left side for your Ipod, right-click on the song you don't want, and click Clear. You can also use shift+click to delete multiple songs. This won't erase it from your Library though- you have to do that seperately.

I have muscular legs.. but not like huge but like nice and i'm working on my arms but they are fine.. the only thing i don't like is my tummy fat and my fat cheeks... everyone in my family has chubby cheeks... but is there anyway for me to slim down around my waist and loose some fat in my cheeks

For your waist, I bought this product from avon called the Thermal Waist Trimmer. I have no idea how it works, but basically you put it around your waist (it attaches with velcro) while you're exercising and it helps you burn fat- it's helped me a lot. the hair on my legs grows back so fast. ill shave with a brand new razor then the next day hair is back. how do i keep hair away for a long time.

First of all, make sure you are using the right stuff. I recommend the venus divine razor, and make sure to use shaving cream and get your legs totally wet.

If that doesn't work, avon sells a product that's supposed to help: http://pr.meetmark.com/PRSuite/buy/shop/showproduct?type=product&id=1&prodid=00520570. I haven't tried it so I don't know, but avon is a pretty reliable brand so might as well try it, it's pretty cheap. You can order it online or from a avon representative.

Sometimes I think that dancing rules my life. I take a very rigid, strict class where everything must be "just so" and I can't do anything when I want to. One day when my friend tied a friendship bracelet around my wrist, my dance teacher saw it and personally cut it off my wrist so I wouldn't wear it again. Also, when I want to try a sport like soccer or basketball, my dance teacher is the one who refuses to let me, saying that I will twist something or break something and I wouldn't be able to dance. My parents just stand around saying "Listen to what she says, dear. Listen." Now I really want to get some gentle highlights in my hair and my parents said yes at first, but they changed their minds when my dance teacher said no. What do I do?

Take a break from dance for a few months. I don't know what kind of dance you're doing, but it sounds like ballet, so try a fun class like hiphop at a different studio. Or try a sport- take a self-defense class or try out for basketball, volleyball, or soccer. If you still want to be semi involved with dance then try out for cheerleading, colorguard, or the dance team. After season's over, if you find yourself missing dance, go back. Otherwise, you can still take a few classes and have fun. You sound really stressed out, so discuss it with your parents, tell them that you need time for schoolwork and dance is just getting too intense at the moment. Don't say you wanna quit- just say you'd like to take a break then come back.

If worst comes to worst, don't let this teacher boss you around. You wanna try out for soccer? Go for it! You wanna highlight your hair? Go for it (with your parent's permission)! Really, how can she stop you?

ok. I almost lost my home yesterday because of a huge flood. and i was to call my "best friend" on the phone. and this is the conversation.
me: hey
her:hey I heard about the flood
me: yeah, they might not let us back in our houses for 2-3 months.I'm basicly homeless.
her:oh well I have 2 friends over and I don't want to be rude
me: *scoffs* yeah ok bye

....there were only two friends of mine that said "hey well if you need a place to live you can come here" if my "friend" was actually my friend why did she blow me off in my time of need?

There are three possible reasons:

1) She had no idea what to do.
Maybe she wanted to help you but she didn't know how. Maybe she doesn't have room in her house and she's embarassed. Either way, she was a little lost.

2) She really is a bad friend.
No explanation needed.

3) She's not good in a crisis.
When there's an emergency, some people panic, some call 911, and some pretend it isn't happening. She could be the third option.

The best thing to do is discuss it with her, subtly. Not everyone has room for an extra person in their house, and you can't expect them to. You said you already had two offers, so don't linger over this.

okay well my best friend is always telling the people i like that i like them!! and she's always mean and like, yeah you have no friends, haha im just kidding! and then she says that the kid i like, matt, would never like me. and its really annoying.

And my other best friend is ALWAYS up on the guy i like. and if i stop liking them, she loses all interest. its REALLY annoying.

First of all, stop telling her stuff! If she asks who you like, just smile. When she says you don't have any friends, make a similar joke, "Wow, you need to get a life. Haha, just kidding!" But don't get all Gossip Girl on her.

And as for your other friend- find a great guy for her. And don't ever tell her who you like either.

The only person you should tell who you like is your journal. Seriously.

And let Matt know friend #1 is being weird about it. If she keeps saying "it's not gonna last", let you know that if she had a boyfriend, you'd just be happy for her (which is also kinda a subtle insult), and you wish she'd do the same. Tell Matt to ignore her, and your friend will be the pissed one.

Okay, so I'm 14 f. About a year ago my breasts had a growth spurt and now I have stretch marks! I can't wear anything slightly low cut or you see ugly red lines. I'm not a slut or anything, but going to the beach I need to show a little... anybody know what to do?

If you go to Walmart or the drugstore, they sell special cream just for stretch marks. Look for something with cocoa butter- I've found that Palmer's works and is cheap.

i am in dance and i have to wear 2 piece costumes. My stomach is kind of flabby and I have love handles. Does anyone know how to get rid of these? Also how to tone my inner thighs. If you have a diet and exersise program 4 me it would be appreciated. Thanks for the help in advanced.

Diet- reduce sweets, eat small portions, eat more in the morning and less at night. Example day:

Breakfast- bowl of cereal or oatmeal, piece of toast/waffle/bagle, tea/hot cocoa/milk/OJ.

Lunch- yogurt, french bread sandwich, 1 small cookie, water or no-sugar-added fruit juice, crackers.

Dinner- 1 small serving pasta, 1 slice bread, 1 glass milk, 4 spoonfuls corn, one small cookie (avoid dessert if possible- your body burns calories slower at night).

Exercise- do something aerobic- jogging or dance- for 15 minutes, then 15 minutes of situps, bicycles, or pushups, then 10 more minuts of aerobic and a cooldown. At least 5 times a week.

OK so my BFF's little brother is completely discusting!!! He acts very preverted even to me! It's sooo gross. He does things that are well REALLY inapropriate! You'll have to confront someone- I'd start with the boy himself. Let him know that it's not funny and that you feel violated- he has no right to do that. If he brushes you off, talk to your Bff, and if things get really bad, his mother.

well last saturday i went to my cousins daughters birthday party and i was downstairs with my grandmothers neighbors grandson and we were hanging out, and we were watching TV and i had my head resting on his shoulder and my legs were on his lap and he had his arm around me.. and then my brother came down and was like.. ahh u like her!! to him and he pushed me off and stood up and he was like, no i dont, we were just watching TV. and then he went upstairs and i have NO IDEA what he's thinking now, because he sent mixed signals. and now i like this other kid and he's REALLY funny and pretty cute, and i pretty much cant get my mind off him.. but i dont know what do do... i have mised feelings.

To put it simply:

He likes you.

The reason for the mixed signals? Although it may not seem like it, most guys are actually shy about crushes- even more so than girls. He's probably embarassed- if someone found out about a crush you had, you might feel the same way.

Since he sounds pretty shy, you'll have to make the first move. He sounds great- go for it!

My hair is gets all this static in it and it's driving me crazy! It's like when you rub a balloon to your hair and it just sucks! Does anyone know of any hair products that would help with my problem??

As dumb as it sounds, if you put a little static guard in it, you can have a temporary fix.

I love Garnier Fructis Smoothing Milk. If you can't find that, look for a product to get rid of flyaways, like Frizz-Ease.

I have piano lessons and I love it. My mom says that im probably going to quit because I dont practice. But i do practice! She just never listens! I really really really dont want to quit Piano! Music is my life! I have an absolute passion for it! I LOVE music!

You need to tell your mom what you just told us- chances are if she hears how enthusiastic you are she'll believe you. Make it a point to practice around her, and act happy (if you're not) during your lessons and practices. Maybe make a practice calendar so she'll see how much you practice. Good luck!
