A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

I feel really dumb for asking this, but its a question I need to ask someone.

I don't know how to dress my body. I'm not a style challanged, I actually get dragged along with people because I'm good at putting together outfits but I'm horrible at finding things for myself.

I'm 5'10" and about a size 7 in my waist. I have larger breasts, not huge, but too big for a button up shirt. I also have a rounder bottom and muscular thighs because I'm very active. I also have hips, so tight shirts look odd. People always tell me I should be a model because I'm tall, but I can't pull of clothes. I feel disgusted with my body because I always feel like I'm too large for clothes sold in the clothes I enjoy shopping at. I'm an individual, and I have charisma, and I'm tired of dressing in too big jeans and blah tshirts because I can't find anything else.

I just need styles of clothing, or stores that I could find clothes at for people who are shaped like me. Tiny waist, but curves, tall, muscular. I'm just so darn frustrated. Advice?

I agree with superdazz, bring an honest friend with you shopping. Try on styles you wouldn't normally try- you will be surprised by what actually looks good on you!

If you buy a size up, they'll still have that "fitted" look, but not hug curves you'd rather hide. And if you want to show them off, you can do that too.

Button down shirts with actual button holes allow you to cover up clevage when showing it wouldn't be appropriate.

Plus, they're cute & you can dress them up OR down, depending on what you wear with them [lighter jeans or shorts, more casual; dark jeans, dress pants more formal]

I think the holes are part of the cracker. Saltines & such, they have the same thing. I think it helps the cookie bake evenly, like cutting slits in a piecrust.

Ok I don't know why but for the last 3 periods, the pain just keep getting worse and mroe worse each time.

I know it's already supposed to hurt but recently, when the next period comes, the pain is 2 times worse!

It hurts so bad that I cried! I feel like I have a baby or something!

Is this normal?

Yeah, it's normal. Invest in the value-size of Midol, get a heating pad, eat some chocolate, and find a position [probably laying down] that's comfortable. Bananas help sometimes, don't know why. And stay hydrated!

If they're completely unbearable, consider asking your doctor about birth control; it eases cramps for many people so it could be a consideration.

ok so theres this weird rash-like thing on my whole knee. it kinda looks like razor bumps but they itch & u can like pop them if u scratch them. its reallllllly gross & i have no idea what it is. i dont think it could be poison ivy/oak bc i dont think i was in the woods or anything. what else could it be? it kinda looks like a rash and its red.

Wash it with soap and hot water in case it IS poison ivy. Treat it like poison ivy for the next couple days. You could have gotten the rash from a pet or person that had the oil on their hands.


If it doesn't go away, it could be excema. It's a rash that flares up occassionally, and you can't really get rid of it, you just reduce outbreaks. See a doctor if it doesn't go away, he can diagnose rashes better than we can.

Wash your mouth out with soap, its nasty but it's over pretty quickly haha.

Swearing in front of parents isn't exactly the most intelligent thing to do, but it slips out at some point anyways. We're human and make mistakes. If that's all your mom's worried about, tell her you're sorry but that it was accidental. If you're doing OTHER things that make your mom see you differently, fix that. She's probably worried about you, talk to her.

What season am I?

I have dark brown eyes, olive skin, dark brown hair..

Someone told me autumn but I'm not quite sure. Opinions?

What colors would look good on me?

I've never classified skin/hair/eye colors as seasons, but the overall look reminds me of fall/winter, haha. If that's what you mean. Like, a blue-eyed blonde would be summery?


Anyways, my [natural] hair is the same as yours and my complexion seems similar. It all depends on the piece, but I've always found pink [like Hollister's dark pink, haha I don't know how else to describe it] to be complimentary. Any color works if it's the right shade. Lime green for example, looks atrocious on me. But a deeper, jade green looks really good. I also like turquoise, white, maroon, and orange. As for makeup, I like to stick to light pinks, gold, brown, purple, and black eyeliner & mascara.

Hi.

I have a regular ordinary computer... I have a problem. Food or something went into the keyboard and now whenever you type certain letters, they just dont type or if you type like an s itll do a / or something weird. I need your help though.

How do I fix trhis or get the crumbs out?

Turn the keyboard upsidedown [preferably over a trashcan] and whack the back of it with your hand. The crumbs come out. Also, pressurized air works but the crumbs fly everywhere. A brush gets hair out.

at outlet malls why are clothes there cheaper?

They're last months' fashions, overstocks, etc. There's nothing wrong with the clothes, the company just wants them sold at a discount. Some brands are really picky about details. So if a day's worth of polos is sewn with the wrong-color thread, they'll sell those at a discount even though there's really nothing wrong with them.

I'm worried about my height. I'm not really WORRIED...im just confused.

ok, so both my mom AND dad are 5'8..ok? but i'm only 5'2. I dont know if this helps but I'm 14 & I got my first period two weeks ago. My foot size is a 9..and thats about it.

You might not be done growing yet. It's possible you're done growing, but you are only 14. You're not abnormally short, you're fine. Wait it out, and you'll reach your full potential with time. It doesn't happen overnight.

ok, so lately i've been working out a lot. I run three miles in the morning and then do the elyptical for an hour (600 calories) plus some free weights. I eat about 1000 calories a day. Do you think this is too much? I feel like it isn't, but my mom is starting to act like she thinks i'm over doing it. I'm not overweight, 5'5" and 130, i'm in good shape, like i'm athletic, i just want to lose that "baby fat" around my stomach and arms. Should I keep going at this pace, and what should I tell my mom, because she's gonna think i'm anorexic if I keep turning down chocolate icecream!

I don't think you're anorexic, but I think you should be eating at least 1500-1800 healthy calories a day, 1000 isn't really enough. Ice cream is okay occassionally, so don't deprive yourself completely. Explain to your mom that you're not anorexic, you just don't want to eat icecream everyday anymore! Plus, the amount of exercise your doing is fine, espeically if you're training for a fall sport. Just make sure you're eating enough & if you get too sore, cut back on the time you spend on the elliptical a little.

If you want to do it yourself, Sally's Beauty Supply [or a store like that] has pretty much every hairdye color imaginable. Get a washout [not that pink will be very permanent anyways, but still. Don't get a permanent the first time if you can avoid it] Hot Topic might have pink too, so check there.


You could also go to a salon, they can lighten your hair if it's really dark beforehand and it'll come otu a lot brighter & last longer. Plus, they can mix any color you want.

Everytime I'm with my boyfriend we make out, h.j's, b.j's, fingering.. like all of that stuff... we do it like alotttt. atleast 4 times every time we're together.. so like, 4 times in 5 hours. But do you think he's using me? like I feel like he always wants to do stuff!

He could be using you, he might not. If you do other things [like talking, see movies, go for a walk, watch TV, etc] he's probably interested in more than the physical stuff. If he complains about not making out 24/7, then yeah, he's using you. Otherwise, he's just happy that you let him do things like that. If you don't want to do it so much, say so. If he's not using you, he'll respect that.

is it a phobia if whenever you walk in the dark or something, you always look behind you? I'm not sure why, but when i walk up the stairs when the lights are turned off, i keep looking behind me. I'm not afraid of the dark or anything. am I just being paranoid? thanks in advance!

A fear and a phobia are two different things. You're just being cautious. This isn't keeping you from living your life, so you're fine. I do the same thing, it's actually a good idea because it makes you more aware of your surroundings. Plus, I always get the feeling I'm being watched. So yeah, I check.

You're probably washing too much and killing GOOD bacteria. Washing inside is actually not recommended. Just use a mild soap & you should be fine. If the smell persists or gets worse [it may be stronger because YOU notice things like that more than other people do] you might want to get checked out by a doctor, it could be an infection.


And if your boyfriend's not complaining, apparently he doesn't mind.

I got a bank account about a year ago, and you know how your supposed to make up a signature? Well, I did. Its five letters long, ugly, very easy to copy. Is there a way to change it without getting a new bank account? I am with Bank of California, and I have a savings account, and I am 16 if that helps.

They'll let you change it as long as you can prove who you are. Permit will probably work, possibly a parent's driver's license [don't take theirs, have them come with you, haha] or some other form of identification from the bank. Call them and ask :)
