Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?

Whenever I shave my legs I always get cuts. So I tried using shaving cream but that only irritated them, and now I have little red dots everywhere! So what are some good razors that I can use, that aren't exspensive, to have smooth legs? And nair is out of the question. Thanks in advance.

Use the Venus Vibrance razor- it's electric but you can use it in water. I used to have the same problem but the Vibrance works really well. It's about $10 for starter, then $12 for four refill razor blades. It's not the shaving cream that's irritating your legs, it's the razor- for now at least wash it in hydrogen peroxide- that should help. Also shave slowly- going too fast is what usually causes cuts.

Tight jeans with no pockets. No big pockets. Basically anything tight will help. Avoid long pockets and baggy pants, especially sweatpants, and do squats.

13/f ok so im 5'6" but im slim and most of the guys in my grade are shorter than me or at least a little short. My height at the most. Would they not want to go out with me or kiss me if im that tall?

Only really short guys are that insecure. Most guys like tall girls- longer legs! I'm 5'8 and I've never had a problem. If it's not a big deal to you, then that's all that matters.

im going to a new school this yearthis year. i've been in a catholic/private school since i was 3 years old. now i am going into eighth grade and im switching to a public school. i don't know what it will be like. i know a few kids there but i don't know if people will make fun of me since i new or whatever is going on. please help. i am 13 and f.

It's a pretty big change. A few of the differences: public schools are louder and less "protected"- there are still rules, but they're not as strictly enforced. People most likely won't make fun of you- if they do, ignore them. Just be friendly and don't make any comments about the school ("my old school was better) and you should be fine. Another thing you need to know is that there will probably be a lot more illegal stuff, drugs, drinking, etc. As a general rule, if you see someone so out of it that they could put someone else's life in danger or they pass out, tell someone. Otherwise, let them be stupid. (There won't be a whole lot at your grade level but in high school, there's a lot.)

They only have it in black online but I've seen it instore.

If you do get it, one suggestion: don't wear white and cream together- maybe a brown shirt and cream overshirt or white and white instead.

For making it more defined, try Mark Curl Goddess spray, they also have a gel I think...available at meetmark.com, avon.com, or from an Avon Representative.

For making it shinier, use a shine-enhancing shampoo designed for your hair color...I use John Frieda Brilliant Brunette (they also have a line for brunettes and a line for redheads). It's available at Walmart and most drugstores.

That's the shampoo. Make sure you get the right shade- for instance, there's shampoo for light blonde and shampoo for dark blonde- if you use the wrong shade it will probably look strange.

I was talking to my friend about religions and how they relate, and she told me that Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are very similar in their beliefs. The books are very alike, but have different names, according to my friend, and that the belief in Jesus is how Christianity stands out.

But how are Islam and Judaism REALLY different? [I'm not knowledgable at all with religions, so don't accuse me of lieing and stuff cuz this is what my friend told me]. Just because Muslims believe Muhammad was a prophet and Jews don't doesn't seem significant enough to separate the religions. So yeah..how are they different?

Islam- belief in Allah, Muhammad as a prophet, strict code of rules than are often used as laws, most don't eat meat, holy book- Koran.

Judaism- belief in god, less strict rules, still waiting for prophet (in most cases, Jesus), holy book- Torah.

Christianity- belief in God, Jesus as a prophet but he will return, some don't eat meat on fridays, holy book- Bible.

The bottom line is that religions in general have the same roots and it is believed that at first there was a main religion (judaism) that split into different variations.

Soon i will be able to get a new phone and am not postive what phone i want for sure so i just wanted some thoughts and oppinons on these phones. I can either go with Verizon or Cingular.

Definitely get one from Verizon, they have better reception, no roaming, and unlimited free night and weekend minutes. I don't know much about the phones, except that the RAZR is really delicate and the SLVR is supposed to be a cheaper ripoff.

next year im going to high school. the seniors initiate all of the freshmen. has anyone been initiated before? what did they do to you? please help. im scared to go to high school.

95% of the time, that's just an untrue rumor. I was told that seniors at my school like canning freshmen...the truth is, they only do it if you disrespect them or you're obnoxious. If it is true, just politely ignore them(but if they talk to you, respond) and they will probably ignore you too. They can't possibly initiate all freshman- there aren't that many mean seniors.

i have a friend and shes 16 and shes 5 6 1/2 and she thinks that shes to tall for her age i was just wondering is that a tall height for her age or is it normal?

No, that's an average height, I'm 15 and 5'8 and my doctor said that was normal. There's nothing wrong with being tall- clothes look better on you and a lot of guys like tall girls because they have longer legs. Anyway I knew a girl who was 6'2 when she was in sixth grade (i'm not kidding) so your friend is lucky- tall enough so it looks good but she can still wear heels.

My husband and I have been married for almost two years. We married after finding out I was pregnant with my son. I've followed him to his home town, far away from what I know. I've had a hard time relating to his family. He promised me stability, (a house, a good job for him, an opportunity to go to school) We've been here 6 months living off unemployment. He finally got a job, but wants to quit. We just moved out of my in-laws place and into an apartment. (more bills)
He is even considering the Army national guard. We were active Army before, (where we met)I spent my whole pregnancy alone, cause he was deployed. I don't want to go through it again. I can't divorce him, nowhere to go. I am afraid of what a divorce will do to my son. Any advice? Experienced advice appreciated

First, you need to talk to him and explain that his marriage to you is a commitment and at this point in time, with a young son, it should be his priority. Unless he has a real reason for wanting to quit the job, he needs to stay with it.

If he's unresponsive or simply doesn't care, you should definitely consider divorce, even if it means having to stay with your family. I would not stay with your husband for your son's sake- my mom did the same thing and it just made things harder. When your son is older he'll have more feelings about it- at this age it's not going to make a big difference. Divorce is much more traumatic for teenagers and older children.

If a church or somewhere nearby offers free or cheap family counseling, or you can find a way to afford it, it would be a big help. If not...sometimes just the threat of divorce can make a husband improve his behavior. He might not even have realized how you're feeling.

I never feel like going to school. What can i do in the morning to make me go to school???

Buy something really good for breakfast to make you want to get up, a chocolate chip scone or something.

Or wake up a little early and go to Starbuck's before school. That always works for me.

Wear something that looks great on you (skimpy if it's flattering), do your hair and makeup perfectly, get a guy friend to pose as your new bf, and go somewhere you know he'll be. Most people do the same thing. So if they're all worried about if they're pretty, they're not gonna care if you're pretty or not because they're too busy thinking about themselves.
Besides, with so many people in the world, it's guaranteed that someone out thinks you're the most beautiful person in the world. You just have to find them.

Buy flattering clothes and do your hair and makeup (but don't go overboard). It helps a lot if you know you look good.

It just has to do with circumsicion (it's pronounced "sir-come-siz-jun", prbly spelled wrong)- certain religions don't and some don't- or stereotypes (ex. black men are supposed to be really big, etc). Either way there's no difference really, men vary and not because of religion.
