A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

advice

i want to try pure makeup from maybelline. right now i use dream matte mousse and i dont really like it cause its kinda hard to blend, and im always usually late to school because it takes me a long time to blend. and i watched a video on what all i do to put on the pure makeup, and it seems like it would only take me like 5 minutes to put all my makeup on( im planing on wearing the foundation, blush, mascara, and lipgloss and then blotting my t-zone with powder). now, im just wondering if anyone uses the pure makeup foundation, and would answer a few questions:

how long does it take to put on evenly and smothly?

does it feel and look natural?

how long does it stay on?( i have p.e second hour, but i dont sweat that much)

does it cause acne?

would you recomend it? and do you like it?

It’s relatively easy to apply. The consistency is like a watery moisturizer. Since it’s water-based, it blends perfectly and is very hard to mess up. It wears off during the day if you don’t use powder. Even when it does wear off, it doesn’t get cakey or anything like that. It won’t cause acne because it’s oil-free and actually marketed as something to not aggrevate acne. I do recommend it if dream matte mousse isn’t working well for you.

I really love my boyfriend, but every time we make out it seems like we're just tongue wrestling. I've seen people make out, and it doesn't seem like we're doing it right. Can anyone help?

There's really no "wrong" way to kiss, since everyone's different and likes different things.
So experiment. It doesn't have to be a contest like "Hey I bet I can get my tongue all the way to your tonsils!".

Don't be afraid to explore, or whatever you want to call it. Usee less tongue, or more. Focus primarily on using your lips, kiss in different places. Try kissing with one person upsidedown (and no you don't have to hang your boyfriend from an apartment roof in an alley, leaning over the side of a couch, bed, etc. is sufficient)

Basically just make it fun. Ideally, that's what kissing should always be =)

you know how there are age limits for different movies? well, if a kid is in a movie, and they are either under the rated R limit or under the PG-13 limit, do they still get to go into the theatre to see it at the premiere?

PG-13, no one really cares, 'cause it's a "strongly cautioned". Plus, not many kids younger than 12 go to movies alone anyways.

R ratings you're supposed to be with a parent/guardian. But anyone 17 or older can buy the tickets (if they actually bother to check, which they usually don't unless a bunch of young-looking kids are all going in at once). So for example, if your boyfriend/girlfriend was 17, they could buy two movie tickets for him/her and you, and you'd be all set.

theres this guy i have liked on and off since the 2nd grade. i kno that is to young to really like some one but... anyways we started dating at the beginning of the year and we broke up because he said he wanted to be free. but he said he wanted to hook up next year when i am in high school. hes so sweet. hes the only guy i have ever told my secrets to. i trust him and he even said i was the best girlfriend he ever had. he says im beautiful. i dont want him to be my only lover, so what can i do to let him go even though i dont want to??? i love him so much i dont like seeing him with other girls. what do i do??

If you start a friends with benefits thing, you'll end up getting hurt, because you're still attached to him emotionally. So, just be friends with this guy. It may seem hard right now, but dont dwell on it so much and it'll get easier with time. There's other guys out there! Get to know them and eventually you'll move on and find someone new.

In the meantime, (try to) enjoy being single, flirt, and have fun =) But like I said, there's nothing wrong with being friends with this guy. Close guy friends are irreplaceable.

okay, so i have acne on my back, and its pretty embarrassing. is there anything that actually works in getting rid of it? I use proactiv everyday, but it doesn't work on my back. HELP!!

Try using a wash with salicylic acid. Neutrogena makes a wash specifically designed for the body, called Body Clear. It works really well.

If you can, apply spot treatment. It'll take a fair amount of stretching your arms around, but it can be done. Good luck.

As much as I hate the typical teenage story about falling "in love" and what not I need advice. I am 15 and the guy I think I like is 16. We live about 20 miles apart. We never actually met in person, but I know him because hes my ex's best friend and my other friends friend. Thats how we met, and yes, I know hes not some 40 year old pervert. We talk alot on AIM and occasionally on the phone. We are both shy, but both are extremely sarcastic and sometimes mean. How do I bring up wanting to hang out with him and make it happen?

PS. He knows I'm "into" him.

Hang out at a mutual friend's house. That will put parents' minds at ease. Trust me, all they're going to hear is "meeting a guy you met online" so make sure they know that your friends know him already.

Or, have him come to your house (with a parent home) or meet somewhere like a mall or movie theatre, again not alone. Good luck =)

okay well one day i jus turned on my computer & now everthing is jumbo sized. like on my desktop everythings bigger then usual. i tried restarting my computer, changing moniters. what do i do to fix this? PLEASE HELP! & dont say "get it looked at by someone"

Right-click -> settings -> screen resolution.
Pick something bigger.

There's this guy that I am seriously like in love with. It's just that every time I try and have a normal conversation with him, I either get really tongue-tied or end up saying something really stupid...

My boyfriend's first impression of me was me jumping across two twin beds, slamming my head into a bookshelf and almost giving myself a concussion, and drinking an entire bottle of soda with one of my friends and having a burping contest. Oh, can't forget trying to play Resident Evil and not knowing how to use a nunchuck controller.

So I came to the conclusion that good guys like you for your personality, quirks and all =)

ok so i just got a new haircut.... and to be honest my hair dresser is either bad or my head and face look ugly................... so i was trying to get this hair style http://www.people.com/people/katie_holmes/photos/0,,20005730_20076561,00.html

i tried pomade, hair creme and both didnt work... the hairdresser put some spary and all...

my hair is naturaly curly but i straiten it so if i wet it it goes back to curly.... how can i give it natural waves and definition... ahhhh its to short to fix!!!

Try using mousse as you straighten it. I've used it before but didn't like it because it was too stickyfor my liking and it made my hair piecey. Which is what you want. Styling wax works too, and you can get some cheap from Garnier or VO5.

Also, try parting your hair a different way, blowdrying it upwards and whatnot, to give it a different shape at the top of your head. Remember too that hair grows back, and that you may come to love having short hair. If not, well it's not permanent, so relax.

my hair is really curly and frizzy but i'm pretty good at controlling all the frizz and stuff except for the crown of my hair. it dries almost instantly as i get out of the shower and i have side swept bangs so when i blow dry my bangs down and then use the flat iron to keep them straight i get those fly aways that stick right up. i was wondering if anyone knew any products to keep them down right now? besides hairspray like i've heard to use bed head manipulator.... also does anyone know something that i can use to treat those baby hairs so that they will grow out or become less crazy? thanks a bunch!

Patience, and lots of it. They'll grow out with time. Don't over flat-iron them, maybe use some smoothing creme and hairspray on them for now. I promise you, they don't look as bad as you might think they do.


One of my friends set fire to a small part of my hair (about the size of a small pea) and I had a nice little bald spot for awhile, thena s it was growing back I had some wicked snazzy-looking baby hairs all in a little group. And I used Aussie hairspray and Suave Anti-Frizz Creme (in an orange tube) and my hair looked good. It blended in fairly well.

I recently ordered this plastic bra washing thing (it's called 'Bra Baby'), a plastic thing you put your bra in so you can machine wash and dry it.

For anyone who has used it, is it any good?

Don't machine-dry bras. The heat ruins the elasticity. I've heard that it works well though.
I imagine it keeps the padding shape intact.

Regardless, use the gentle cycle if you're that worried about your bras. I just throw them in with my regular clothes, and air-dry and re-shape them. They hold up pretty well.

I looked it up and said you ahve to be in high school, but we will be soon, so what do you think? How old do you have to be? & they can mean anything, according to some websites they're actually make-out bracelets? Whatever. They're a similar concept to the the jelly bracelet game (which I've never actually heard of anyone doing)

Lots of times, those shirts are either a) handmade by trimming the neckline of a regular tee, or b) they're actually a shirt with a wide neckline, pulled over your shoulders, and maybe slightly altered. Good luck!

So I'm a smart, all honors, straight A, talks intelligently kind of girl, but not at all in a way that turns people off. So basically I'm friends with SO many different kinds of people because i get along with everyone.

My boyfriend...hes a little anti social, a teeny bit socially awkward, and not as mature and smart as me.

But I really like him because even if he's not like me...we can relate on lots of levels and I love being with him and hanging around with him. Its just...at school...he doesnt fit in with my friends and its STRANGE. Plus...i HATE his friends. Even if theyre older than me, theyre so immature! What should i do about this situation? If it helps im 15 and hes 16.

It doesn't really matter all that much. Having different groups of friends (and dating outside of those groups, as you have) isn't a bad thing at all. Not every friend you yours is going to be the best of friends with everyone. Plus, a little immaturity never hurt anyone. Consider hanging out with your boyfriend and his friends, maybe at his house, and just getting to know each other.
