I'm friends with at least 6 Athiest people. I don't really want to change them. It's just why doesn't people believe in God? My one friend say me wearing a cross to school one day and told me to take it off. I asked her why. She said some very unkind things about God. Then she said, How can God be real if he doesn't save anybody from death? I couldn't answer that. SI asked around and found out she wasn't always Athiest. She used to believe in God until her grandparents were murdered. Since me and my friends live in a town with drug dealers, malesters, and murderers, it's common for people to get hurt, but i'm not scared of the people in my town, but my friend scares me saying too many rude things about God. What do I do?!

As a Atheist I can tell you that I think that was really, really rude of your friend and she's making other atheists look bad.

I don't believe in God because if he exists, he's really, really cruel. Look at all the awful stuff that's happened and is happening in the world. Darfur, Sierra Leone, terrorists, child soldiers, racism...surely if God could do such miraculous things in the bible then he can at least help you with today's problems. I've tried but I simply cannot force myself to believe in god.

Your friend's logic is off, though. People have to die, even from non-natural causes. Otherwise the world would be even more overpopulated (it already is). This may just be a phase your friend is going through. She sounds very hurt and angry and talking about it would probably help her.

I have a boyfriend that's 18 who turns 19 in August.And I'm 16 and I turn 17 in October.Would it work out if I was going in Highschool and he went to college in the area.Or do you think he would get tired of me and get someone better who's in college or whatever.Or even I would find someone in highschool.I just want some opinions if you don't mind.

In my experience, it's not a good idea, not if you've been going out for that little time.

I went out with a guy who lived in New York and went to college, and I live in CA. He had a bit of money, so he was able to fly out every few weeks, but it was still really hard. First of all, everyone else had boyfriends they could cuddle with and hang out with every day, and also, I didn't feel like I could trust him.

College is an entirely different world and you never know what will happen. You sound too unsure, ask him about seeing other people. Not breaking up, just not being stuck with each other.

Hi all, this is yg. I consider this a question, I am also kind of looking for opinions. I am asking here instead of the mod forum because I'd like answers from those who are mods, and those who may not be yet. There is no right or wrong answer, so please, honest opinions only.

In the last month and a half this question, or a version of this question has come up and it bothers me. 'How can I hide that I have been on advicenators?' I assume it was meant from parents.

I would like to know if others have this problem.

What do you think would make it acceptable to your parents?

I'm answering this really late but maybe my opinion will help anyway...

Yes, I have to hide my use of this site. My mom doesn't really understand the internet (myspace, etc) and she is constantly making fun of me for my column and threatening to block me from it. Granted, my mom's not exactly normal. And the one time she actually did look at the site to see if it was appropriate, there was a giant chain of sex questions. (Keeping in mind her image of me as a "loser" with no friends or boyfriends)

If there was a way to block the sex questions, I think I would be allowed on here. I would still be made fun of, but I'd be grudgingly allowed.


It's really hard to embarass me, but no, I wouldn't be embarassed for my mom to see the site in general. A few of the worse sex questions might embarass me because it contrasts everything I've told her about the site being a place for advice on friendship/relationships, a safe place, a place where there are mature adults.

Some of my answers do reveal things I'd rather not have my mom know.

My mom is extraordinarily close-minded so these may not be average answers. My dad doesn't live with me and so knows nothing about it.

That's usually what it looks like if someone uses a caller ID scrambler. Changes are it's just a solicitor or prank call. Don't answer if they call again, just wait for your parents to get home. Remember no one can hurt you over the phone.

ever wonder why Abercrombie & Fitch clothes are sooo expensive? after all, they look similar to American Eagle clothes...although, i've heard that abercrombie clothes have to be expensive because they don't have child labors as to american eagle does...

Abercrombie is expensive for the same reasons that Juicy Couture, Seven For All Mankind, and Citizens of Humanity are expensive: just because it's a brand-name and expensive, people assume it's quality. Almost every store and probably all in a mall have child laborers, it's very hard to find something not made in china or any other country that uses child laborers. No doubt Abercrombie does use child laborers, they just mark up their clothes a lot more to make more money.

what is the number one way you can tell if a girl likes you(besides hearing it from her friends because they can lie) like visual, body action, stuff like that. question would probobly be better answered by the ladies: what do you do to come on to a guy and show him you like him without saying it. this way i can look for those signs in her. 14 M btw

For a shy girl, she may look at you then look away when you catch her eye, move away if she's sitting near you (weird, I know), turn red.

Normal girls will laugh at your jokes a lot, try to sit near you and work on projects, etc. with you at school, constantly fix her hair when you're around, etc.

Best bet: If she has a close guy friend, ask him. Otherwise, generally if she has a girl best friend, ask her. Ask if they think *girl* would go out with you.

people on this site think they are so mature and know everything but they don't know shit. My problem with this is what you're talking about is that it isn't people on this site. The majority of people on advicenators are teenage girls. What you're talking about is the world in general, so please don't blame advicenators.

Personally, I've noticed that people who buy expensive things get kind of addicted. You buy one Coach purse, you want another until nothing's good enough. Many, many rich people are unhappy.

Nothing's wrong with designer clothes. As long as they don't define you, you don't wear them to fit in or be popular, and you at least pay for some of it yourself, whatever.

In my three years on the site I have yet to see predjuice. People are annoyed by questions, sure, but who's calling people whiny bitches? You're the one launching an attack against something that if it happens, is a minority. The world judges people. It's a sad fact that you have to get used to. People are judgemental and if you can't deal with that you probably won't make it in the real world.

It's a sad fact that these days, most teens aren't very smart. I'm a teen, and I know it. I'm surrounded by people who care more about how they look than the fact that millions of people are starving and dying of AIDS. It's just selfishness. As for stereotypes about Abercrombie, sorry, but I really hate them. They stereotype when they hire people. A girl in my town did an exposee on it. When she first came into the store and asked if they were hiring, she wore a headband, abercrombie shirt and jeans, flats, and girly makeup. She has blonde hair and is pretty. They said yes, they were hiring and gave her an application. The next day later she came in wearing cheap jeans and a plain, fitted tee with no brand name, and cheap ripoff converse. She also used temporary hair dye to dye her hair black and wore badly applied eyeliner and chapstick. They said they weren't hiring.

Anyway, you are the one being prejudiced. You just judged an ENTIRE WEBSITE. Hypocrite. Sorry if you had a problem on her, file an abuse report and get over it.

my boyfriend has been acting weird. so i told him to tell me. and he said he saw the devil the other night. (we're both christians.)

My cosuin is almost 12 years old and she's very small for her age. She's only 4'8 and she's very very skinny. (The small height runs in the family) Last weekend, I saw her at a cookout and she told me that she'd hadn't eaten in almost a week! I'm worried about her because she won't tell her mother and father and she's already really small and I'm worried that she might have a problem if she doesn't eat! The good news is that if it is anorexia, it's in its early stages. I'd be more worried if she wasn't telling you.

I'd call her parents, tell them what she told you. Tell them that you don't know if it's true or not, but that you are a little worried. Chances are it's probably not true, but they should keep an eye on her anyway.

No. You can't use a pad obviously, and if you wear nothing you will bleed into the pool. Pretty gross.

If you've ever seen TV shows such as Ghost Whisperer or Medium (based off the life of a real psychic), you know that it's not the best idea to broadcast your gifts. Try to keep it to yourself and only tell your closest friends and family. Keep it on the DL for a while and hopefully, people will move on. If you think you can help someone, do what you think you should.
If you really don't care what people think, feel free to do what you want. I'm assuming you want to fit in, the best way to just to act like other people (as much as I hate saying that) for a little bit.

At the end of the second movie, it is unclear whether or not he has died. He has been left with the Kraken, and certainly his survival chances are extremely low. However, we do not not for sure what will happen to him.

In the end, Captain Barbossa and the rest of Jack's crew decide that they are not going to give up on him. I haven't seen the third movie yet, so that's all I know...

BUT...
Remember in the first movie, when no one could die, including Jack? That might have something to do with it.

can you bring a Ipod, Game system like PSP or Nintendo DS, or a DVD player on the plane? i know they have rules of what to bring on the plane but can you bring these? i dont want to be borded the whole flight.

Ipod- yes, if you have it on low volume and don't use a radio connector.

PSP- yes, as long as you don't try to connect to the internet.

Nintendo DS- yes, with headphones.

DVD Player- yes, again with headphones and on low volume.

However, you will not be allowed to use any of these during takeoff or landing, or while they are giving you the safety/emergency information before the plane takes off. Also, if you bring a cell phone, it must be off, and laptops are not allowed to go on the internet.

Just out of curiousity, what do you prefer better, Yahoo Answers or Advicenators and why?

Advicenators. Yahoo Answers has probably the worst questions out of any advice website and answers are often abusive or just plain wrong. Because you get points for answering it turns into a big rating competition. I tried it and hate it. And it's really disorganized.
Advicenators is more like a community. The columnists talk to each other about issues and we have a fairly good system for getting rid of inappropriate or truly awful questions.
