Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. Can you get sunburnt on your scalp, i.e. through your hair? (mine's quite thick and long). I've been in the sun all day and now my scalp is itching. What can i do to soothe it? (I can't really put aftersun cream in my hair??!!)

Yes. I still remember one summer when I was still living in NY, my family and I went on vacation to Florida, I refused to wear a hat and by the time we were back home, my head was totally burnt.

It's aweful beacuse you can't really put anything on it without it making your hair all gross, and it hurts so badly when taking a shower. If you really did burn your scalp then I sympathize, it's no fun and all you can do is wait for it to heal.

what are the pros and cons of the razor phone (cingular)

Pros:
1. Out of all the cell phones my family and I have used, this one takes the shortest time to connect as well
2. Clarity with every conversation
3. Numerous amount of features.
4. aesthetics
5. battery life is long

Cons:
1. like most phones and services, accessories and fees for extra services (i.e. for verizon the V-cast feature is aprox $15)
2. The camera is good for about a 1.0MP but the zoom blurs once you reach the max 4x.
3. It is rumored that after a few years, the screen blinks. This is TBD and I personally have not heard of any other technical error(s).

In general if you take good care of the phone, the phone should work

i'm wicca and i'm gonna have a baby and well i was wondering if it's wrong if i make my baby learn and follow through with the wicca relligon i really want her/him to belive in what i belive in and i think of it as like the christans and how they make them belive in the whole jesus christ bible stuff no offence to any people who belive in that relligon so is it wrong? plez help

There is nothing wrong with wanting your child to learn and believe what you believe in. I was born Catholic but I personally don't believe in some of the things that Catholic's believe in. I only believe in certain parts of all sorts of religions. As long as whne your child is old enough to pick whatever religion they want to be, Wiccan, Christian, Catholic, Jewish, even Athiest, or any other religions out there (I don't have the time to name every single religion) then it's okay to try and get your son/daughter to believe what you believe. Just don't get too upset if they decide that they want to believe in something else.

Hey my name is Rachel and iam a 17 year old female and iam babysitting this 15 year old kid with autisim from 10:00pm to 2:30 am in the morning How can I keep this kid occupied for that long since I have no exsperince with babysitting autistic kids?

My neighbor is autistic and he's in like 6th or 7th grade I think. He's not much different than a normal kid. At least not that I've noticed. He loves playing baseball and just playing with all the kids in our neighborhood. Besides, between those hours, he should most likely be sleeping. You'd only have to keep him entertained for like 2 hours. Tv or movies are good for short periods of time like that. Or maybe just kick around a soccer ball or something. Nothing too big, he'll be to sleep in no time.

I'm wearing a lime green dress to prom and it has some silver at the bottom half. My date has a black tux and a white tux. Which do you think he should wear?

Definitly black. The white may not look great with the lime green, two light colors together, just doesn't seem right. But you can't go wrong with black. Besides, black and lime green look great together.

I just registered to this site, and this is my first question type thing, so i dont really know what to put as my "subject" or what to put it under.

so.. this weekend, im goin to see some1,&i want to look good, so i picked out an outfit& everything, the only thing is.. i got my period this morning and i dont wear tampons,and the pants im wearing are pretty tight, but i dont want my underwear line to show?and i dont want to pick another outfit,so if any1 has any suggestions on what i should do.. i would really appreciate it... sorry if its a stupid question.!

Boyshorts are a good option. They are just as comfortable but have no pantyline and you can weat a pad with them. Or, there are certain pads made for thongs, though I can't imagine how they work, you could always go out and buy one of them.

Other than that, I'm not really sure. Unless you tried a tampon, which you already said that you don't use. Hope this helps.

i dont no what to do because all of my friends are acting weird like last night me and one of my best friends we went to a dance together and her mom picked us up but one of her other friends were there that i dont like and she totally ignored me with all of my other best friends and then when it was time to leave she said she was going to get dropped off by someone elses mom that was the same girl. thats how it is even at lunch i really dont no what to do i have other friends should i hang out with them instead? i dont now what to do only 1 friend out of that group isnt acting weird have any idea on what i should do? im so confused i tried everything

Wow, first I hate to correct people, but this was almost impossible to read without punctuation. So yeah, maybe next time (and I mean this in the nicest way) type a little bit better.
Anyway, I think you are trying to tell me that your best friend has been kind of ditching you for someone you don't like.? Well have you tried to talk to your best friend? That's probably the first thing you should do. And don't be rude to her about it, ask her politely what's been going on. Tell her that you've been feeling left out and that you feel as if she's been ditching you. And that, in all honesty, you probably wouldn't be AS upset if it was someone you liked, but either way, you're upset about it. If she doesn't understand or just continues blowing you off, then she isn't a true friend. You shouldn't just ignore her though, try talking, if that doesn't work, well I'm sorry but it doesn't look like the friendship will last. Just remember to always at least be civil towards her. And be happy that you have these other friends you can hang out with. Oh, if all of the sudden this girl comes back and wants to be buddies with you, don't ditch your other friends, that's doing to them exactly what is being done to you.

Hmm... have you asked Taylor about this? Or like your mom? That might help since they probably know the person. Then again... hahaha. Uhh are you and this other girl that he's going with friends? Do you two talk at all? Not that it would really matter... but a simple way to break them up would be telling her that he said he might consider going out with you.
Now I wouldn't tell just anybody to break up two people who are dating, but hey, you're family, and us Italians, no mercy, we do what we have to do to get by. If someone steals our guy, we steal him right back. haha

What do you do next? Hmm, you could tell him that you want a definite answer. Ask him if he's just messing with you or if he's serious about a possibility that the two of you may be getting back together. Im a good virgin but i love my boyfriend... and i dunno if im ready...

If you aren't sure if you're ready, but think you may be, then you are NOT ready. If you have even the slightest doubts, then you are definitley not ready. Now if you truly love him, and you are not having any doubts, then go for it. Just remember to have some form of birth control like the pill or condoms and such. But also remember, the pill, and many other variations take time to kick in and work to their full potential.

I don't really see a problem with losing your virginity on prom night, but as long as you're ready and can handle the consequences. You never know what could happen, you could be as safe as possible and still get pregnant. As long as you really truly love him and know you could handle any consequences that may come along, then I zuppose you should do it.

In my personal opinion though, I don't think that you're quite ready. Asking a question to this site shows some sort of doubt, even if you don't know it.

I suggest waiting a little longer. I'm not sure how long you have been dating, or what age you are (though age shouldn't matter) but if you haven't been dating for a very long time (like at least a year) then you don't know how long you two will stay together. I think it's a little risky, but if you really really want to, I can't stop you, in the end it will be your decision.

ok, if you read the back of a mountain dew bottle it says like alot of stuff about what its made of, and one of the things its made of is yellow 5, now i heard that yellow 5 kills sperm cells. but i also heard alot of other stuff that is suppoust to kill sperm cells that wasnt ture but i heard this is really really ture. so does yellow 5 kill sperm cells and makes it a less chance to get a girl preggy?

The park for a picnic... you can take turns pushing each other on the swings. Or swing next to each other holding hands and talking.

If you live near a beach you can walk along the beach or the pier.

You can go to an arcade or an arcade type of place. Most arcades not only have video games, they also have air hockey, bowling, pool, pinball, and more. (If not, go to a pool hall or a bowling alley)

If either of you can drive, just take a drive to places you don't usually go, yet still know your way around so you don't get lost.

You can go ice skating or roller blading.

There are other things you can do, just not that come to mind at the moment.

But I hope you can find something fun and original that both you and your date like. :)

What does the little (sp?) thing stand for..im confused..

SP means spelling, so when people put sp with a question mark, they're letting you know that they aren't sure if they are spelling that word correctly. I do it all the time haha.

Not directly from leaving the tampon in too long. It's more of a chain reaction.

Leaving the tampon in too long can lead up to Toxic Shock Syndrom (TSS) and one of the negative side effects of TSS is death.

i juss got the txting plan with cingular. we got the 1000 txt package for $10.00 a month. i can sign on AIM now since we got txting, but i was wondering if however long you're on for, if that uses up minutes & you pay for each minute, er the only way you pay is from txting??

I appreciate the rating, but after reading another answer you recieved, I wanted to make sure you knew what I meant!
Okay, I really hope what you meant was when you sign into AIM from your computer and instead of putting up an away message you forward to your mobile device.
I've never actually been away from a computer, turned on my cell, and went to AIM. I don't even know how to do that. I know how to instead of putting up the away message, forward to AIM, have the cell phone icon next to my screen name, and do that. If that's what you meant, then yes, it only charges you for texting. (but it costs extra, though because you have a certain amount of texts free, it shouldn't matter) That's what I meant. If you do it any other way rather than signing into AIM from a computer and forwarding it to mobile to make the little icon appear, then I don't know.

I have cingular too. I only pay about an extra $5 a month for 200 texts, your deal seems much better! Anyway, I used to sign into AIM with my cell phone all the time until I realized, 200 free messages isn't enough when I use AIM. Anyway, to answer your question, it only charges for the text messaging, not for the minutes. So you're fine as long as you and your friends don't carry on conversations that use up more than 1000 messages while you're on your cell.

Well, it kind of depends on the situation. If he's like 17 or 18 and thinks that you're like 16 and wants to date you, this could be kind of bad. Just before you continue the lie any longer tell him the truth.

Hey! Well, I am getting my cartilage (upper ear) pierced on my ears, and I was wondering if it hurt of if I should look out for anything or something like that. Thanks.

Well it stings more than a regular piercing, I'll tell you that. But after a few seconds you can't feel it. I used to have mine done, then I took it out and it closed up, I just got it redone about 2-3 months ago. I was also just able to change it like a week or two ago.

Just remember to clean it EVERY night, I didn't, still don't, and it gets all gooky (I don't know the word for it) and it's sore. Also, don't choose a HUGE earing or one too small. I had a huge earing up there this time because last time one of my cartilidge piercings got really infected because I never cleaned it, I hade a really small earing up there, and it ended up getting stuck in my ear. This time, I got a HUGE like "gangtsa" earing, and it rubbed up against my ear too much causing it to become sore. So get a normal sized earing and clean it EVERY morning and every night. Also, when you shower, try not to get your hair tangled in it, it's somewhat painful and it's a pain to untangle.

Cutting back food is bad when you do it in a way that could hurt you (such as anorexia and bulemia). I was anorexic, I know the effects it has on you and your loved ones. It's a horrible thing to go through. We watched some movie in one of our classes about it to, it was close to the real thing, it was based on a true story. I can't think of the title, but it's a lifetime movie and it's staring Tracie Gold (the girl from Growing Pains). Anyway, that's a decent way to find out what it does to people. But never ever ever ever try to have an eating disorder. They mess you up big time!!
Maybe you can just start eating healthier. Excercising more. Join a sport, or even do simple things like kicking around a soccer ball with your friends. Or playing basketball in the driveway or something. Anorexia should NEVER be an option. As for bulemia, I don't like throwing up when I'm sick, so I just plain out don't understand how people can be bulemic.

Anyway, YES! Cutting back food in a severe and dangerous way IS a BAD thing!!
