I'm pretty good at volleyball (well better than alot of people.. not to brag.. but I've always liked the sport, and I even played it in the summer, at like some good rec place.). however in soccer, i have been playing for like 3 seasons, and im not the best player.. like I dont know all those tricks and junk, but I'm determined.. yet lack alot of skills, lol. I'm a 7th grade girl, and I'm going to high school soon.. and Im wondering which do I pick? because the soccer and volleyball seasons are both in the fall... that sucks because I love both, but soccer better.. but im not that good at it! what to pick! .. I'm trying to think of a new aim screenname and I can't think of ANYTHING.
I want it to be pretty short, one or two words only, preferably one but yeah. I like music a lot and I thought I could use lyrics from a song or something. well..im a junior in high school. im a horrible public speaker and found out that almost every college requires a speech class. how exciting. so i did some research and found a community college in my state that offers an online speech class where you tape your speeches and send the tapes to the teacher.
two questions about this. one, i wanna take this class during my last high school semester. i'll be taking an english class and 2 really easy electives. do you think taking the online class would be too much?
two, how do i approach my mom with this? she always makes me face my fears..but i have social anxiety disorder and facing my fears only intensifies them. so how do i get her to approve and help me? (link)

I understand where you are coming from with the social anxiety. I remeber giving presentations in high school...freaking out and studdering... But,I'm going to have to agree with your mom on this one. I think you should take the class at a college(if your school doesn't offer one). Taking a speech class online is pretty silly and i think it defeats the whole purpose of the class. If your going to devote time to a class you should learn the skills it intends to teach. You should leave feeling more confident in your abilities to speak IN FRONT OF PEOPLE! I never had to take public speaking, but during my senior year of high school i took drama in an attempt to overcome my shyness and it really helped me. Don't deprive yourself of the benefits public speaking can bring you. It also might be a good idea to bring a friend with you to the class to make it seem less scary. good luck! hope that helped. : )

Theres this guy that I met this year in my class, and like immediately I had a crush on him. I dunno why.. but something about him interested me, probably just because he was cute, and I thought he was interested in me at first because he kept looking at me sometimes and it was kinda obvious. Most of the time I was too shy to talk to him, though Im not really a shy person. But it wasnt like he hated me because once he stood up for me when some retard kid was making fun of my instrument. And blah blah blah. I think I'm starting to get over him, I mean, I guess I'll usually think hes cute, but I dont think I really wanna get involved with him romantically anymore for a couple reasons. i've told my friends about my crush, but they dont believe that i dont have a crush on him anymore!!! I like 2 other guys too (a little) but like.. yeah. is it possible to just get over someone without falling for another person so you change your mind about the first guy? (kinda confusing?) Mmm.. what do you think I should do? maybe i could be a friend of his, but hes like a big jock (btw, I'm 13 in 7th grade) whos not the brightest crayon in the box (but is totally cute), and I'm like both a tomboy and a girly girl, not popular but not unpopular either, and I guess I have good looks (not to sound conceited!). If you'd like to get over the first guy just avoid him and thinking about him(if you do think about him think about his negative qualities :p), for a few months. By then all of your lovey-dovey hormones will be flushed out of your system and you might wonder what you ever saw in him in the first place. If you want to be friends with him i'd wait until after this cooling off period or else you might have a hard time having soley friendly feelings for him. Only you know if you really still like him!! And if you do(more than those other guys) then go for him if you think you'd be happy in a relationship with him! If you like one of the other guys more than him you can go for either of them! And don't forget being single is always an option! It's up to you to choose what you think will make you happiest! Maybe you could ask yourself, what things make me happiest in the long and short term? After this follow the path that most closely corresponds with that question's awnser. good luck! : )

how come there are some people that have everything? like theres this girl that used to be in my class.. shes practically perfect. she was blessed with really good looks (she was like one of the first people to start wearing make up and unlike most people, she looks really good in it), amazing hair (always a different hairstyle everyday, too!), and... jesus.. you like never see her wear the same outfit twice! and every outfit looks sooo trendy and cute. she has soo many accessories and etc.. she also has a ton of friends, and an older sister. she's also an amazing soccer and basketball player, and even though she doesnt get the best grades (shes in low literacy, too) shes pretty nice to everyone, so its hard to hate her! but i swear, I bet everyone is jealous, lol. I used to think that she lives in an apartment, but it turns out she lives in one of the gigantic mansions in my area! and her parents are still together and have alot of money (obviously). everything seems so perfect! and she doesnt get upset alot, but once in 6th grade she was like really upset that like.. gum got on her $40 dollar bra from victorias secret. omg.. who buys a bra for 40 dollars I ask you!?!?!? how is this possible! she also gets alot of her stuff from hollister, which isnt even in our nearby mall.. so she must go to those other real expensive malls where she gets all her glam stuff. jeez... some people have all the luck! me and my friend were talking about her.. i knew her last year, and she was nice and has a good personality, (though sometimes she can seem too overconfident.. if you know what I mean) but you couldnt help to be jealous! now when i look at my life.. my family is not all that rich, but we're not poor either. my dad is starting a company which probably will be big if it works out (hes still setting it up) but like.. I dunno. then i'd have to leave all my friends here.. and that would suck because its not the same when you meet new people and you havent known them since kindergarten.. or like it may, but its better to grow up with people... if you get what i mean. anyway, i'll probably wear an outfit and then mix it up a little the next week.. but basically still wear the same thing. i only have 1 pair of jeans that actually looks good (from american eagle) and well.. yeah. i cant really follow trends because now my parents arent all that rich. heck i couldnt even have a 13th bday party and i have to pay for me and my friends to see a movie instead. (I'm 13 today and my "movie party" is next week). I'm pretty, but my mom wont let me get make up.. i dont even have enough money to get my own make up, nor do i know how to apply it. i'm kinda shy unless you get to know me, and well i do good in schools, and i like to play soccer, basketball, and dance, but I'm not like an amazing athlete like that girl im talking about was. like i didnt make the soccer team (im in 7th grade) and she made the team, and its the A team! most of the A team is 8th graders, and most of the B team is 7th graders. wow.. just wow. she even gets to play soccer otherwise in a different county than ours like 30-40 mins away.. and its travel soccer! i only get to do rec.. and i've only played in 3 seasons. i wish i started soccer earlier.. basketball too, but im better at basketball than soccer. ugh.. i just.. dont know. i guess like.. everyone has something special about them.. im not saying that i dont like myself.. I think I'm a great person and all, but like.. its just kinda unfair that this girl has like everything! i dont even have an ipod, cellphone, etc. I have like.. gameboy color, and a gamecube, opposed to nintendo DS and playstation 3. and.. like etc. i know this was ridicuosly long, but its been in my head. i dunno if i just like have no self confidence.. sometimes i dont, but usually i do... well it depends if im in a good mood or not. or maybe its because im wacko, which some of y'all may say. or maybe im just a green jealousy-person. ugh.. well.. yeah thats pretty much it.
also, what do you think it takes to be popular? i dunno what i am.. i dont know anybody that hates, me and i have friends and junk (no boyfriend, too). i dont deliberately try to be mean to people, if i am, im probably just joking around, unless i really mean it, but thats rare. i wont be like "your such a bitch, amanda!" since i'm like a positive person and think everyone has a good thing about them (I know.. kinda retarded way of thinking. like theres this loser guy in my class and even though hes made fun of me before (it was really retarded, and this guy i liked stuck up for me, though i dont care what the loser guy says (link)

ok, before i start, you're REALLY mature for a 13 year old, and that is really good/awesome/cool. be nicenicenice, that is the main thing. when he said "sorry! i'll go fast! that made you feel good, right? because he was nice. smile at everyone, talk to everyone, bring up any conversation, be nice, ask people about themselves (to make them feel good) smile, laugh, etc. all of the popular girls in my grade are soooo nice and smart. be GOOD! good luck.

Doesn't everyone tell you it's incredible stupid, dumb, and unhealthy to do drugs like weed and cocaine, etc? Then why on an ADVICE site does it have questions asking about drugs. No, not like educational things about them, like "Oh when i smoked weed I threw up, is this normal?". I was expecting every answer to be like "You shouldn't have smoked weed in this first place, these are drugs and they are unhealthy." But no the answers were more like encouraging the people to try it again and see what happens? What the heck? Is it ok to do drugs now? (link)

At Advicenators, we have to answer their question. Basically, for the most part, we are not honest. :[ Drugs are BADBADBAD, but they are "in." When people started making xanga layouts, they could make the fonts italicize/bold/underline pretty. '&&' filled up more space when they need to italicize/bold/underline, then it just caught on.

He is a really nice guy for doing that. You should ask him if ya'll could atleast stay in contact, and maybe date other people for now, but think about dating when you get out of college. OR, he thinks it is going to hurt you (his schedule being so busy) so he is trying to do this for you. If that is the case, you should let him know it doesn't worry you & you want to stay with him. OR, that is his only excuse and he found someone else he likes... but I doubt that, haha. :]

Guys aren't like girls, they don't like just one or two people. They like anyone they see. My friend (a boy) has a girlfriend, and he LOVES & WORSHIPS her, but he likes me and two other girls. Guys just aren't right in the head, haha. It sounds like they probably DO like you, but it's not anything serious.
