Doesn't everyone tell you it's incredible stupid, dumb, and unhealthy to do drugs like weed and cocaine, etc? Then why on an ADVICE site does it have questions asking about drugs. No, not like educational things about them, like "Oh when i smoked weed I threw up, is this normal?". I was expecting every answer to be like "You shouldn't have smoked weed in this first place, these are drugs and they are unhealthy." But no the answers were more like encouraging the people to try it again and see what happens? What the heck? Is it ok to do drugs now?

Your basically saying that sex is wrong so we shouldnt teach people to use condoms. Like sex, people are going to do drugs no matter how much you dont like it. There will always be someone shooting up heroin, taking there moms pills, and smoking a bowl. No one is saying its "cool". But I would rather have someone be informed about drugs than someone be a complete idiot about them and die from doing something that couldve been prevented. Plus, from your perspective,Im guessing you have never done drugs, so its easy for you to say not to do them its dumb. But let people give advice to others that have been in bad situations and know what to do. [ smokedank123's advice column | Ask smokedank123 A Question ]
LoveNJstyle answered Saturday January 20 2007, 10:33 am: i guess it's just me but I don't really think experimenting with weed a couple times is horrible. I don't encourage it, but I don't tell people it's badbadbad and they will die if they do it. other things like coke and stuff i do completely and totally discourage. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
xcheerbabex108 answered Saturday January 20 2007, 10:10 am: My opinion is that you shouldn't do drugs. Does that mean other people HAVE to follow my say in any of it? Never. Now, like you, I agree that people shouldn't be encouraging drugs. But, some people are idiots (no offense). But, I agree with the person below me, we have to get good ratings. I wouldn't do it, because there are some gullible people on this site that would actually do something they shouldn't out of their own ignorance. orphans answered Saturday January 20 2007, 9:39 am: At Advicenators, we have to answer their question. Basically, for the most part, we are not honest. :[ Drugs are BADBADBAD, but they are "in." If we don't answer questions good, we get rated low, then we could get banned if they are too low. This soceity, it's a SHAME. But, in the future, it will be better for us (good people) because all of the former-drugheads will be vegetables! Haha. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
Imperialistic answered Saturday January 20 2007, 5:08 am: You have a valid point but you know what? No matter what anyone says, some people will want to do drugs. Of course we could all respond with a "no no no, you shouldn't do drugs" but they already know that they shouldn't. This website is made for people to ask questions that they can't ask anyone else. You can give people all the advice in the world but they also need to learn from experience.
If someone asks what he or she should do before and after taking ecstasy at a rave to make sure they don't harm anyone, well sure, I'll tell them the dangers of the drug but I'll also tell them to keep hydrated and take breaks from dancing. Because you know what? If I don't tell them, who will? If they don't have the information available to them, they're going to start tripping and dancing the night away before passing out and potentially ODing. So yes, I tell them not to do it but at the same time, I take into consideration that a lot of kids are going to be doing it anyway. By all means, I'll tell them how to be safe but I'm definitely not going to be giving them tips on how to get a better high or anything.
And any question that you find on the board are the ones that moderators consider appropriate to answer so questions like "how much does a gram cost and how do I roll weed" aren't going to be approved and aren't expected to be answered.
When it comes to drugs like weed and alcohol. They're teenagers and I doubt anyone can convince teenagers to stop. All you can do is warn them and then give them advice on how to survive.
So if someone is vomiting up blood, I probably won't waste time telling them not to do it since they've already done it, I'll tell them they made a stupid choice (which they already also know) and make sure they stay alive. [ Imperialistic's advice column | Ask Imperialistic A Question ]
gigi313 answered Saturday January 20 2007, 1:26 am: It's not "okay" to do drugs now, or at any time. But if you look at the way things are honestly, many many teens experiment with drugs, and many adults use drugs. I think that the advice is being given not to encourage people to use drugs (or it shouldn't be), but rather to answer someone's question honestly--no matter what is being asked--and not being judgemental. At least, that is what I would do if someone asked me about drugs on this site.
Drugs are harmful for various reasons, and this differs from substance to substance, but the one thing that covers all of them is that they are ILLEGAL...and that makes them "not okay", period. gigi [ gigi313's advice column | Ask gigi313 A Question ]
