I have an xbox and I'm having problems with it. I've had it for about 2-3 years (I don't remember exactly). For months, half of my games have skipped almost every time I play them. I think the problem is with the xbox itself, but I really can't tell. I'm going to buy a new one (not an xbox 360, just an xbox). My question is, do you think that this will solve the problem? Also, I have a LOT of saved stuff on the xbox that I have now. Is there any way to transfer all the saved stuff to the new xbox cheaply?

Could be that it needs to be cleaned out. My friend had this same problem with his PS2 and he sent it to Sony for them to take it apart and clean it out and when they shipped it back to him, it worked perfectly. First try getting some of that compressed air in a can and spraying the inside through the CD Rom drive...if that doesn't work then call Microsoft and see about having your system cleaned....if all else fails- get a new Xbox.

Whether your saved stuff is on the hard drive or not you'll still need a memory card to put it onto a new system.

Let me clear up some things about steroids here (or juice, sauce, gear, Arnolds, gym candy- whatever you wanna call them) Forget about what everyone is going to tell you about the mood swings and the side effects and listen up because Iam going to be real straight with you about the gear. Steroids were originally developed to treat men with low testosterone outputs. All you hear is how evil they are and how people die from them and what's really funny is that people actually want to legalize marijuana but steroids are of course so evil- YEA RIGHT, but did you know that if you took either 100 Vitamin C pills, 100 aspirin or 100 steroid tablets..the only thing that would not kill you is the steroids? I've never used them, I know plenty who have and Iam well aware of their dangers and their side effects and you can get seriously fucked up if you are careless with them and Iam not talking about people who use Albuterol inhalers for their asthma or whatever and they were prescribed some steroid- thats not what we're dealing with here- we're talking about Dianabol, Deca Durabolin, Winstrol, Equipoise, etc. in big dosages. On the other hand- they aren't the evil that TV makes them out to be when taken with care and in a reasonable dose. This however is tough to come by because doctors are not willing or able to prescribe them to you or monitor you while on them since they are now illegal. They are not reserved for people who just lift weights...they are reserved for professional bodybuilders and at that you have more of a chance playing in the World Series than becoming one of those guys. Steroids start to hurt you when you take them incorrectly like those assholes on that MTV True Life show which gave so much bad information that I don't even want to get into it- just don't ever take anything you see on MTV with the word "True" in the title too seriously.

Steroids aren't the equivalent of Miracle Gro for your muscles...in order to gain anything while you're on a cycle you need to bust your ass harder than anybody in that gym and make sure you're eating the 400 grams of protein a day and sleeping for 11 hours a night. Do they work when the proper effort is taken to enhance their benefits? Absolutely no question.

Now when you stop taking the juice it is because you need to regenerate your body (liver mainly) to its normal function since it was on overload during your cycle...if you maintain the same amount of calories and the same intensity in your workouts then you will keep most of the muscle you put on during your cycle...but if you don't then you will lose most of it. It is very hard to keep the muscle mass because there is a big psychological boundary that comes after you stop steroids where you lose that sense of invincibility. UNLIKE what that idiot on MTV thinks- steroids are not physically addicting at all, but they are very mentally addicting.

I don't know if you're considering taking them, that's not my business or my decision- all I can say is that if you aren't an experienced bodybuilder looking to go into competition then definitely don't without even thinking twice. If you do decide to take them- know that different people respond to different steroids in different ways and that there are plenty of counterfeit steroids out there. Also know the legal risks involved because they are pretty severe. I really would encourage you to stay away from them, but that's not my choice. The weight is on your back and you should know where the rack is.

How important do you think ratings are? I have asked questions, and try to go back and rate all the answers. However, I notice that a lot of people do not give ratings. It seems like it should be a common courtesy when someone gives a detailed well thought out answer.

Also have you noticed that the ratings now show up next to the answers? I haven't found this to be true of all my answers that were rated, but at least some of them.

How can I fall asleep?

Lately I'm having nightmares and I can't sleep if it's past 11.. because I just.. stay awake for some reason.

And when i try to sleep.. i have sleep paralysis...so sometimes i refuse to sleep because i hate going through that.

i dont know what to do.

i'm only getting 3-4 hours of sleep every night.

Before going crazy and seeing a doctor who will just press the panic button and put you on some pill...try some natural alternatives such as:

8 oz of warm milk a half hour before you go to sleep. Milk has a good amount of our sleep hormone called Melatonin in it and having it warm ensures that your body doesn't need to secrete more hormones to cool down cold milk and hence keep you up longer since your body isn't ready to rest.

If you don't like milk or can't have milk- go to your local vitamin store and get Melatonin gel caps and look for it in about a 2mg dosage. (It isn't a stimulant, it's a very natural supplement..so don't worry about it being dangerous.)

Okay,so i have a friend who started to use"lean blance" diet pill.
She lost 25 pounds in to weeks.
I really want to use it.
My mom isnt a fan of pills,but hear is my story.
Last summer,i worked out and took dance classes.
Somedays i would work out for 3 hours others 2 hours.
But everyday i worked out ate the right food.
No result,after 4 months.

So yes i have anger about it,because i pushed myself to a place ive ever pushed myself.And im proud of that.
But,im not happy with the outcome.

how long is a half a mile and a mile? and how many calories do you burn running half a mile and a mile?

1 mile is 5,280 ft (Half a mile is just half of that..sorry don't feel like doing the math lol) and you burn about 100 calories per mile whether you walk or run. Simple as that.

i was just wondering what would be an average weight for a 5'6 male middle weight athlete.

Don't go by weight- if I were to determine my fitness level through my weight for my height- I would be considered morbidly obese. DO you look good and do not have a lot of extra bodyfat? If you don't then you're in good shape...simple as that.

Does anyone know of anything that i can do in a pool to lose weight? i know swimmging itself can make you lose weight but i want something fun..we have a 3ft-5ft pool and we dont have any of those water weight things but we do have floaties and what not...anyone know of anything i can do?

Look, I know that summer is coming and everyone wants to look good for the pool and the beach and they want to lose half their bodyweight in 3 days but swimming is among the worst exercises for losing weight. Gives you heart a great workout and helps to condition you very well, but as far as working your heart and getting into a heartrate zone where the metabolism is sped up enough to burn more calories- nope. Actually it causes your metabolism to slow down which is something many people don't know and they never want to listen to because it means that they actually have to get up off their ass and really exercise instead of being in a nice cozy pool, of course Iam not saying this is you by any means- just a generalization.

Water weights are very overrated and I know plenty of fellow trainers who have used them to try something different on clients and the clients really hated it for one, and most importantly saw no results whatsoever.

Just stick to the basics in exercise with plenty of running, calisthenics and weight training along with a good diet and you will do just fine.

Hey my name is Rachel and iam 17 years old and my cousin Tiffany and I get along really well,but she's only 13 and only weighs 100 pounds and is 5 foot tall and is complaining about being fat all the time and now she's going on a diet to try to lose 10 pounds is this anorexia?I don't know what to do iam getting really worried about her and i've tried telling her she's not fat,but she dosn't belive me what should I do?

This isn't anorexia- this is just complaining over nothing really and taking the illusion that the scale is too serious. There's nothing you can do really since you have done all that you can in trying to convince her that she isn't fat. I'll bet that even if she got down to 90 lbs she would find something wrong with that or find that she can't stay a constant 90 lbs and freak out and try to go down even lower...she's 13 years old and that much obsessing over her weight is just plain ridiculous- especially when there isn't anything to worry over. People are becoming wayyyy too convinced by what they see on TV and Iam sure that TV and peer pressure have plenty to do with this. Can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink- you have done well, but in the end it's her body.

how do you find your body fat percentage rate? everyone is saying they have like a 10& body fat percentage rate, so how do you find it out?

BMI will not tell you your bodyfat- a set of bodyfat caliphers will. The figure that everyone gives of them being 10% bodyfat is just a plain lie lol- most people average almost 10-15% higher than that and are in considerable shape.

You don't need a doctor to take your bodyfat measurements...you can do it yourself very easily with a set of Caliphers which are available through many sporting goods stores. There are digital bodyfat read out things, but a good set of caliphers (should be about $20-$25) will give you the reading you need.

will swimming around a 14ft. pool 25 times with just my arms, help get rid of the fat under my arm?

No it will not no matter how long you do it- swimming is primarily for your shoulders, not your arms and is among the worst cardio exercises for losing bodyfat- actually causes you to hold more.

Nothing works in a week- that's really just common sense but you have to lift weights over a long period of time to develop the muscles of your arms and you need to diet too. Sorry.

My friend of 30 years asked me to help with a situation that involved her 22 year old daughter. The girl (Brandy) left her "good" boyfriend, quit her high salary job, gave up her apartment to travel around the country camping, hiking and living off the land, with a 25 year old guy she met 6 months ago. Brandy recently died her hair purple, and got several facial peircings. She told her mom about a couple of injuries where the mechanism didn't make sense, and we all--Brandy's parents-sibling and I got a bad feeling from the new boyfriend.

Without Brandy's permission we came up with the idea of doing a background check on the bf, and it came back really bad! Several assaults..domestic and otherwise, one which included prison time because it was assault with a deadly weapon. Broken restraining orders, harrassment, interuption of a 911 call, theft, DUI, no license, no insurance etc. Now mind you the young man has no money and they are traveling with her money. So our gut instinct was right..or even more right than we imagined.

We confronted Brandy with the info, that she apparently didn't know. We talked to her about domestic abuse. Tried to convince her not to go and she rebelled. She says it was crossing the line and his background was none of our business.(or her's either for that matter)
Now she says it is all her Mother's fault, because she can't love this man the way she should, but she still left with him. Did I mention my friend found bottles of drugs prescribed to others and pot in his backpack?

No one could stop her from leaving with him, but she did promise to call every day. So now that she is angry, we still want her to keep in touch and have a safety net in friends and family, but how?

The ideal situation would be that she just come home and start over!

That's a pretty big sheet he has..unfortunately there is nothing you can really do about it legally if he has already been through the sanctions from his previous offenses...unless he has a warrant out for his arrest which I would say is doubtful from what you described. It's good that you confronted the whole domestic violence issue- unfortunately most women either don't make any report to the police out of fear of more violence or they just don't listen until its too late, especially here in NY. Iam sure she knows that everyone is still there for her and she has you to fall back on- just doesn't want to believe that this guy who probably promised her the world isn't who he says he is and that he could hurt her. The guy sounds like a typical domestic violence perp who likes to freeload on people and promise them everything and control them through violence. You should also make it clear about those drugs and if they happen to be caught with them- you never know how one cop will interpret a situation of two people traveling together and one has a good amount of drugs on them- I think you know where Iam going with this. Hopefully she realizes the error of her way before its too late because this guy sounds like a guy who just never changes. Good luck.

Fat at an 8% bodyfat level? Are you kidding? especially a female at your height and weight.

There's no way that you're fat if you truly are at 8%- professional bodybuilders usually get down to about 4-6% bodyfat so put it in perspective.

Well its true that counting calories is a horrible habit to get into but you are eating WAY too little. You are lucky if that's anywhere near 1000 calories.

Ditch the bun on the burger, the chips, milky way, and pizza.

Keep the crackers as your snack and eat a whole egg or 2 if you can and make sure the toast is whole wheat, whole grain, anything but white bread.

9 calories per gram...I'd keep it below 180 calories or 20 grams per day since you really want to rely on carbs for your primary energy...get it from mono and polyunsaturated fats and eat eggs and don't listen to people who tell you the yolk is bad for you- they're very nutritious despite what you hear.

my stomach is toned above my belly button. below..not so much. i have that little mini pouch thing under my belly button that everyone seems to have & never goes away but that doesnt really bother me. it's my sides. like when i wear jeans it bulges a littlee bit on the sides, and it looks retarted when i wear a bathing suit beccause the top part of my abs are good but the rest isn't.i do the flat ab workout thing every night from the latest seventeen, but its not really doing much. i eat pretty good, but i basically have no will power lol so its hard to beat cravings. so i was wondering what ways i could make the ugllly bulge goo awayyy ? hopefully by like, the end of june.

It's not babyfat...it's bodyfat and that's the area where we store it most.

Seventeen magazine workouts don't work because they don't know what the hell they're talking about basically lol.

You mention that you have cravings, I will bet that if you kick the cravings and focus on real quality nutrition filled with plenty of unprocessed foods and a good TOTAL body (not just the stomach) workout plan- this fat will be wiped away. Giving into cravings causes our stomachs to expand due to the exceptionally high hormone secretion. It isn't happening by the end of June, but it will happen. Give it time and learn to embrace it- nothing that stays permanently ever takes a short time to accomplish.
