2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.

17/f. My older sister and I are really close, and recently her boyfriend has done something that is freaking me out b/c I am so worried for him.

He graduated college w/ a theater degree, and he is like an amazingly gifted actor. However, to make money until he can find a solid acting job, he got inspired by that show Deadliest Catch, and so he took a deckhand job in Alaska on one of those boats! When he first told me, I laughed, because he so isn't the type to do something macho like that. I mean, we're from the South, so we don't do cold that well to start w/, and he's also like tall, un-athletic, and lanky w/ no real muscles. He's now making a lot of money, and sending some of it to my sister to help her out until he gets back, but she and I are totally freaked out that he's doing something so dangerous. Is it really as dangerous a job as people say it is? I'm just so scared that something is going to happen to him, because he's been the best boyfriend that my sis has ever had, and he's the coolest man that I've ever been around personally.

I highly doubt it's as dangerous. At least for the people being filmed for the show. I mean, there's a camera crew with them all the time. That adds an element of safety.

But still, they wouldn't let anyone on the show that was physically incapable of being on it. That'd be a lawsuit waiting to happen.

how can you tell if your cervix is low? and in the opening of the private area, about halfway of my middle finger there is something white looking.. it looks more like a thick line, i'd compare it to the width of 2 pencils put together.. is this normal? =. i have no gynocolegist..

this is kind of embarrasing haha but some of my friends shave their vaginas, and im too afriad to ask them details about it.
like how much do you shave/how often or are you even supposed to? and just basic like facts about it haha

Do whatever you'd be most comfortable with.
You'll discover for yourself what shaving method works best for you, what shaving cream/gel, etc. Shave as often as you want to, preferably without irritation. You don't have to go completely care, again that's completely your choice, but it's probably a good a idea to shave enough so that you're not showing anything in a bathing suit 'cause it looks bad if you do.

Basically, just be careful and do it slowly. Soaking in a tub or showering first is helpful, and moisturizing after helps to prevent bumps and such.

If you're trying to delete a song you can't be trying to delete it from a playlist. You have to be in your music library.

You've known her for five years? Surely you know some little detail about her. Get a bouquet of her favorite flowers [in her favorite color, of course!], and have them waiting for her on the seat in the car. Write a letter or poem- normally I'd say not to on a first date, but since you've known her for five years it's a different situation. Something small, but cute, is a romantic gesture.


If she's ever said anything like, "I love that shirt on you!" or commented about a certain cologne, use them. She may or may not say anything, but chances are good that she'll notice.


Judging by your question, you both have a good connection. You don't have to try and impress her, just be yourself and that's the best impression of all. After all, being yourself is what she likes about you! =]

wat is the difference between a lemon and a lime

Uh, one of them is a lemon, and one of them is a lime...


They're both used in recipies, & drinks like lemonade, limeade, lime rickeys, etc. Lemons are yellow, limes are green. Lime juice is sometimes used to rim the glass of a mixed drink to make the sugar stick to the rim. I think lemons might be used too, but I don't drink so I wouldn't know for sure =]

I need help decoding inseams for jeans. I don't have a tape measurer or ruler handy, so I dont know for sure what my inseam size would be. I'm 5'2 and weigh 128 pounds, which is adverage. Can anyone compare and tell me what a normal inseam size would be? Also, when picking a size online the sizes say, for example, 5 32". Is the 5 the wasit part, and the 32" the inseam part?

5 is the size of the pair of pants, and 32 means a 32 inch inseam, which is the "regular" length. Check a pair you already have. It'll most likely say "5 reg" or "5 short" which indicates the inseam size.


If you're ordering online, keep in mind that you can exchange them for a different size but you'll have to pay shipping. So, either try and find a ruler or tape measure [borrow one if you have to] or try on pants in a store. A piece of string can work too- cut the string to size, then measure the string.


So if all you had was, say, a protractor with a ruler on the bottom, you could use that to figure out your inseam length!

You're totally normal. For the first few years [and sometimes forever] periods can and will be irregular. Very rarely will someone get it on a totally regular basis.


Unless you're pregnant you have no reason to worry. Eating a healthy diet & exercising at a normal rate helps.


Next time you're at the doctor mention it to him [most doctors ask about your period anyways] so that he knows.

Nope, doctor/patient confidentiality applies.
The only exception would be if you TOLD them you were abused, then by law they have to tell parents/law enforcement. They can't tell your parents anything otherwise.


Anyway, since your mom's already sending you to be put on birth control she's either assuming that you've had sex or will in the future. Plus, the doctor can't even tell if you're a virgin or not from the exam. Don't worry about it.

Start your new pack like you should. If you don't get your period at all, take a pregnancy test. It's normal to skip periods, even with birth control, so try not to worry so much for now. It'll only delay things more.

Target bathing suits are really nice.
They're made well & hold up for more than one season, and come in oodles of shapes, sizes, colors, and cuts.

Plus they're cheap. 15-20 dollars each piece, and lots are on clearance now.

My mom gave me the chore of taking all our pictures and scanning them into the computer, and then throwing away the paper copies so we have more room in our house for other stuff. She's paying me like $250 to do it, and I got everything scanned, but now I've got 9 big boxes of pictures to put in our trash compactor (not like the ones at the mall, but like an appliance that fits under your kitchen counter), and one box will fill it up. Our trash men charge us more when we have more than one bag, so Mom's pretty obcessive about only having one bag of trash per week, and I don't get paid until I complete the task. But a bunch of my friends are going to Six Flags next week, and if I don't get this done, I won't have the $$$ to. How can I make this happen?

Ask to get paid in advance. Offer to keep the boxes in your closet or room [in other words, out of the way of your mom]. Explain to her that all the pictures will fill up the compactor and you have to dispose of them in small batches.

As an alternative, ask for maybe $100 in advance, and the rest can be paid upon the disposal of the photographs, so that you can go to Six Flags. Your mom seems pretty lenient, seeing as she's paying you $250 for something she could have forced you to do for nothing. Ask nicely and don't be whiny & you'll probably get your way.


Or, as an alternative, organize the photos in as few boxes as possible. Throwing them in at random takes up more room than arranging them perfectly straight & all that.


I think it's sort of weird that you're throwing them all out, to be honest. I'd at least keep them in an attic. Truly old photographs, I'd keep. Like the REALLY old ones, from the 1940s and such. They're amazing. And keep negatives, ALWAYS, from film cameras. I'm betting that'd be one box, tops. And it's good to have a backup of your pictures, so it's worth the closet space.


And I'm sure you've already done it, but back up all those computer files and keep it in a safe deposit box or fireproof safe in your house. You won't regret it.

what are the chances of you geting pregnant if you miss a day to switch your patch if your fertile period is 15 days after your period and you start your period after how dose that work.

From what I've read about birth control, missing one day won't cause you to be at risk for pregnancy. With the Pill, missing one won't cause you to become pregnant, you just double up the next day. Since doubling up isn't possible with the Patch, as long as you put a new one on the next day you are absolutely fine. It's only one day.


And of course, if you didn't have unprotected sex the day you missed it, your chances are essentially zero. If you miss your period, take a test, but honestly since you only missed a day that's fine. I'm not sure how you worded your question, but if you've gotten your period [not just spotted] you're not pregnant.

i had a boyfriend for the past year and a half. and i know im young but i dont know why i would jsut go through anything to be with him. for instance
my parents didnt want me seeing him because of his color- im white and hes black- and i dont think thats ANY excuse. hes a great person drug free and has great friends so i deffenitly fought for that thent hey excepted it afteer a while
now that we were bak together we got SO close and guess what? he moved a few hours away. it hurt not to see him. but my mom cared so much about us that she would bring me every once in a while to go see him. but then family problems came upand we couldnt really see eachother that much. but i didnt blame it on my mom because i knew it wasnt her fault of course!
bt then it came to me in my head. im starting highskool, i absolutely LOVE this kid, but how is it supposed to work if i cant see him ever. finally something came to me and i talked to my mom about it because we are VERY close. and she told me whatever i think is best.
so i ended up breaking up with him. and i feel like i broke both of our hearts. it hurts when i think about him. and i dont know whether i should get back with him or not. i feel like im doing fine but when i talk to him it seems like hes crushed. i feel terrible. and i cant stop crying,
i dont know if i should give our reltionship another try or not. or if the thing i did was right. he still loves me and he cant move on even after these couple months so that makes me feel a little better.

We can't tell you if that decision was right for you. If you can make the distance work for both of you, then by all means, do it. You're also thirteen. Maybe you should both take some time away from each other and see other people. Not necessarily on a serious relationship level, but flirt & go on some dates. There's more than one boy in the world.

I dated someone for about six months who lived a half hour away from me. It didn't matter to me that one of us has to drive for an hour to spend time together because we were committed to that and really liked each other. We broke up for unrelated reasons, but that's not important. The time we dated, the distance was meaningless. Besides, we both had texting and phones. And IM/myspace.


It's your decision, not ours. If you both want it, get back together. If you don't, or aren't totally sure, take a break like you have been.
