I dont know if I believe in a God anymore. It just doesnt seem real. How do I figure this out and stop being confused about it all. Also, my friends believe in God.... should I talk to them about it? Do you think they would be upset with me if I didnt believe in a God?

What about it doesnt seem real? I used to be in the same position and I got my answer by looking at all options.

You have the widely popluar Evolution.. This to me doesnt make sense.. Billions of years ago It rained on some rocks and life sparked.

Next is the big bang theory. The universe was the size of this period ---> . started to rotate at massive speeds then it just exploded into what it is now, sending galaxies spiraling into the universe.

If thats the case then why do some planets and galaxies spin backwards? According to Angular Momentum if something were spinning at great speeds all objects comming off it MUST also spin in the same direction at the same speed. We have all kinds of stuff out in space spinning in every direction at different speeds.

I look at it like this. Scientists cant explain where the atom came from.

You just cant take nothing and then blow it up.

You cant take grass, add some water and make a person from it.

I used to be the guy who would tell jokes about Jesus and God and all kinds of bad crap, then one day I just heard the truth. Ever since then Ive had so many blessings in my life. Ive prayed for obvious signs and Ive gotten my answers. I look out into the world and see so many things that point to the existence of God. For example I always read in the paper that someone should have died and while in the ER they just got better. I love reading that doctors cant explain it. I love when they say there is no reason why this person should be alive right now. That to me says God is very real.

Well I will just say this first..I would wait. Trust me you are only 14. What you give up tomorrow is going to stick with you for the rest of your life. Its been only 3 months. Chances are after a while you will have broken up and you will be stuck with bad decisions youve made. Temptation is out there...trust me...however I encourage you to be strong and resist. At this moment it may sound dumb or whatever, but in the long run, it will be one of the best choices youve ever made. I suggest waiting. E-mail me if you have trouble resisting...We can get through this because waiting is the best thing you can do. There are lots of people out there even on this site who will tell you they wished theyd have waited...dont join that catagory...Join the few who said "I waited and it was the best decision of my life.."

I became a Christian two years ago, but I was baptized Catholic as an infant. I really get into the Christian faith more than the Catholic faith.

However I also heard that Catholic is very similar to Christian, except that Christian is more of a general faith than Catholic? I really don't know.. I mean I would hate to leave the Catholic faith. I am asking what is the difference between being Catholic and Christian? Would it matter if I was baptized Catholic and being more Christian? What am I supposed to do??

Catholic is similar to Christianity yes, however Men throughout Catholic history started to change doctrine, the bible, and add their own personal beliefs into it, thus makeing it a false religion.

They believe in purgatory, when the bible makes no mention of a purgatory. They took some scripture and twisted it to fit.

They believe Mary Jesus's mother is a mediator between us and God. Jesus stated Himself that He is the only way. No one else. This includes Mary.

I mean come on. This is a bunch of guys dressed in fancy robes trying to play God. They think they are saving people, yet they really are sending them to Hell. I only say this because like I said...Jesus is the only way to Heaven. It doesnt matter what you were baptized in before. What matters is you see the truth and accept the bible for what it is: The truth and the unfalable word of God. Accept Jesus, not mary, and so forth. I used to be Catholic so I know how it is...I would get baptized as a newborn Christian, and leave the Catholic faith behind....Thats what I would do...Im not telling you what to do...

i live in canada and would like to buy a house. i am a first time home buyer. however I always seem to have problems getting a mortgage. I have a goodpaying full time job, good credit etc. Any advice, route to go's, tips on how to get a mortgage hassle free as a first time homebuyer. I rate high!! Thank you so much

If you could post examples of problems you have, im sure we could help. One thing I can say, is when you go to a bank, ask them about first time home buyers classes, and information packets. These classes will tell you everything you need to know, and they will give you all the tips you need.

I stumbled across this site by accident. I seriously doubt many of you have the qualifications to give real people proper advice. After reading some of your responses to people's inquiries i was quite astonished as to how teenagers find they are able to give quality advice and information to real people in need with such little life experience. If you ask me you are not in a place to give your "personal opinion" when people truly believe you are giving them the right answer simply because you claim "people think i give really good advice". (eg. i am still at a loss as to how a 17 year old girl thinks she can give advice to someone regarding conceiving a child) I know you try to come across as a "godsend" to poeple who are in some sort of personal crisis and need a fast easy answer but the truth is, in the cases where it really counts, there rarely is one; at least not from you.

Who are you to give your "opinion" on us little advicenators? How long have you seen this site? Has it really been long enough to determine if people can or cannot give "good" advice?

Have you not seen people with advice who back it up with outside sources, references, and so forth? No of course you havent, because you wouldnt have typed this fun little rant, now would you have? Nah I dont think so. Hey in the future, lets try something fun..hmm..but what? Oh I know! How about we all look around, check some people out, dig up some good stuff, get some good "advice" and see what we have to offer before we play God and cast our judgement on everyone! Christmas is coming up, and I recently asked for a Motorola Razr V3. I'm new to this kind of phone, I have only had phones for a year (but really good using them) and only sticking to Nokia Phones (the standards, my dad is nuts!).

Its a cool phone, its light, its cool looking, and itll do whatever you want it to. However the only con I have on it, is it is a real fragile phone. The screen will break if you're not careful, one drop COULD end it, and so forth. If you do get it, get a hard plastic cover for it. That'll take care of most problems, however the screen is still a fragile thing to mess with....

Hi guys... I got this really old rolex from the 1960's which belonged to my grandpa, he died to years back, so i thought i would get it repaired and have it as a memory. Yesterday, i went to this shop to know if i could get it repaired they asked for $400-$600 depending on the work, which i really cannot afford but i really want to have it done. what could b done? I would never wanna sell it for the world...

Ill give ya 200 bucks fer it. Ha just kidding. I would either shop around for more prices, or just save up for the repair costs. Maybe someone could also let you do a payment plan on it.

I keep pondering whether God is supporting homosexuality, or opposing it. Many of my Christian friends have told me it's a sin to be homosexual, or bisexual for that matter, and according to the bible marriage is between a man and a woman. However, I always viewed it as God would accept you no matter who you are, or what you believe in. I am wondering which side I should take. I am not against homosexuality/bisexuality at all. I am befriended with many of them, and they don't bother me. It's just I am not sure which side is right, and which side I should go for. I need explainations on which side is better, even if it's based on opinion. Thanks in advance!

God Loves the sinner, but hates the sin. God does accept you no matter who you are. He doesnt accept sin, or ANYTHING you believe in. There is only one way to God and that is through Jesus.

Homosexuality, God has flat out called an abomination. He also states, they will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

If you truly repented and accepted Christ as yur Savior, then You would naturally turn from homosexuality. I believe anyone can come back from being gay. No matter how into it they are. Every sin is forgivable.

So to answer your question. God opposes it.

Yes, I know, yet another Christmas-related question lol. But, I need advice on this. Okay, so I have a lot of close friends(nine, maybe?) that bought me Christmas presents and I bought them Christmas presents. The thing is, though, I have other friends who I'm not as close with but still good friends with and I feel like I should get them a small gift for Christmas. So, I don't really know what to get. I bought all of my best friends` presents already, and I was thinking about giving all of my other friends a mixed CD of really good songs/Christmas songs. Is that a good idea? Or should I just go with buying them all candy/candy canes? I don't really know whcih would be best; I'd have to burn like 15 CDs, but just giving them a candy cane seems a little impersonal. So, would a burned CD with mixed songs on it be a good idea? Or candy canes?

Killing yourself, huh? Might I ask what that will do for you? Sure your problems will be dealt with....However, what about the ones you will leave behind? 13 years old....so young. What could possibly make you consider this at your age? You havent even lived yet. You are probably dealing with kids at school or something. Well no matter what it is, you WILL get over it. I mean come on. If everyone killed themselves over an issue they had, no one would be alive right now. Most people deal with it, and actually find a solution. Most people get depressed. Get over it. Go out and do something about it. Dont mope around and hate yourself. Why dont you go to a church. Go to a fun church. Get involved. You're only 13. Live to be old and have grandkids. Dont go down as the one who couldnt handle it. Whether you want to believe it or not, people need you. Right now. Tomorrow. Yesterday. Anytime. They need you. Give them hope....not death.

i've been going out with my boyfriend for almost a year now (a year on the 1st of january) and i love him to death. we broke up for a few weeks before the summer, & he was talking to another girl. once i found out about that, i felt this sudden urge to cheat on him. well maybe it was just because i knew someone was around to cheat on him with. but whatever. one day after school i had this boy ben* come over. ben* is basically a major player, & i didnt know that when i met him.. anyways, this was the 1st time me & ben even talked outside of school & he ended up having sex with me. my boyfriend called my cell phone right after he left & i felt SO guilty. my relationship got back on track with my boyfriend.. & 5 months later, i called up ben & hung out with him again.. and cheated on my boyfriend again. this time it was because he wasn't paying enough attention to me. and here comes the worst part. i hung out wiht my friend carlene & her boyfriend dan the other night.. and dans 21 year old cousin kyle came with us. i ended up on top of him making out wiht him (is that illegal!? i`m only 15)..me & my boyfriend have sex without a condom because we trust eachother & i`m on birth control. i found out a month ago that i have recieved HPV from ben* and now my boyfriend also has it from me. i need to break this habit .. i may not have the best boyfriend.. but i do love him.. & i can't use cheating to get back at him when he upsets me. its just not fair.. & i realize that.. but i need to control myself.

Save you and him. Dump him...All you're going to do is cheat on him, and its not fair to him. Especially since you gave him HPV. Control yourself by looking outside of you. Hi. I'm 13/f
My problem is that My mom is really into christianity and all that stuff, but lately I've been getting into witchcraft.(yes, I know the bible says it's an abomination against God) My mom doesn't know, and so she still takes me to church with her every sunday.but whenever I'm in church, I feel like I'm getting a lecture or something like that. She's so into it, she sent me to private school because of the "Moral Values" of it. the truth is, all the kids there are pretty much the same as they would be in public school. We all cuss, some of us smoke and a few of us drink.I mean, I believe in god, but I also believe in spells. I've seen them work before and have succesfully done some. I'm not really sure what to do. Any help???

Wicca is a very dangerous thing to get yourself into. Spell casting, as in incantation type of junk is straight from the pit of hell and will get you sucked in so fast that you won't have time to think.

So what made you decide to go to wicca? If you know that it is an abomination to God why would you still do it? Sure right now you are young and are trying new things, but what comes after death is far greater than casting a spell right now. You have two choices....Believe what Jesus did and who he is, stop being a wiccan, or continue wicca and spend eternity regretting your decision.

Something big to happen in your life. Well I would say the biggest thing that can happen to you and turn your life around is to accept Jesus Christ as your saviour. Read the bible, dont give into temptation. I know that last one is tough, let me tell you. Just believe that Jesus died for your sins on the cross. That he forgave you by giving himself up. That he rose from the grave 3 days later to show that after death you will have life everlasting. Only Christ can turn your life around. So just give your life to Christ and let him sort it out. Hes the best one at that job I know of.

alright, well. i was raised in a catholic family. we go to church every week, pray before we eat, the whole shibang. i believe in God, and love him,, but i just dont feel that "fire" for him that i think i should. how do i get it? how do i know if i really am "saved." i just really want to be close to him and to start living for him, not just myself. Listen to mylordwon. They know what is going on. However I must say one thing you might find offencive. Catholicism. It is good to believe in God, and Jesus, Very good in fact, however...Let me just say this first. I grew up catholic. I know what its about. Okay. This'll be tough...remember I am trying to help you. Okay. First thing. The Euchrist. They have this thing where it actually turns into the body of Christ. This is all man made right there. Show it to me in the Bible.

Along with this, they believe you have to cruxify Christ everyday. One time is not enough. When Jesus said "It is accomplished." I think he was trying to tell us something....

Another thing, you ask for forgivness from a priest. Not Christ but a priest. Show me where it says dont ask for forgivness from Jesus but rather from a sinful man. Then he says "say 5 hail marys" or however many. Where did they get that from? Jesus never said "Believe in me, my saints, Saint Mary Holy Mother of Me, and then say 10 hail marys, and Ill see you in paradise"

Another thing. Saint Mary holy mother of God. She can interceede to Jesus for us. Hmm. Heres a verse for ya. "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6) Well. I guess thats another thing that says teh Bible is wrong.

Then there is the rosary Dedicated to Mary. Ive never seen anything about a rosary in the Bible. So if that is the case, then it must be man-made. I pray to Jesus alone. Not Mary, not Saint Christopher, not a necklace, nor a wafer, nor a priest. Why do Catholics take their view from God and place it upon Men? Mary was blessed to be chosen to give birth to Jesus, but she is no queen of heaven or a bridge between me and God. Jesus took that spot.

Then there is purgatory. Where is purgatory in the Bible? Where does it say you have to do good works to get out of it in the Bible? did you know long ago, when Catholics ruled the world, If you wanted to, you could pay a price, walk up some set of stairs pray on each step, and one of your dead relatives would be let out of purgatory and into heaven. Wheres that in the Bible? Catholic is a man made religion. It focus's not on Jesus, but rather on popes, and saints, and relics, and wafers, and mary, and so on.

Im sorry to go on this rant. Catholicism is a false religion, and I want to get people out of it while I still can. Its not about the bible or Jesus in that religion. Its about the pope, and Mary and stuff.

To get your fire back, I would say ask for Jesus to enter your heart. Believe he died for your sins. Not the Euchrist, but CHrist. Know that Mary is not between you and God. Know that a saint cant protect you. Know that a rosary will not save you. Know that Mary will not save you. Christ ALONE will provide salvation. Remeber

One thing you can start doing is, help your family. Do God's work there. Then go out and spread the Gospel. I find the best way for me to be close to God is do his work no matter how small. Cleaning the church toilets is the work of God. Going out and passing out tracts is the work of God. Going to some site called advicenators.com and talking about Christ is the work of God. Draw close to him, and he will draw close to you.

I hope I helped, and please dont hate me. I dont want you to be blinded by man and his traditions, and walk on teh wide road to destruction...If you want you can work with me on here to help people find God. We can both draw close to God together, then get more people, and more and more, and get the truth out there.

Are there any ideas in theories concerning relativity and the universe that at the end of eternity, time goes back to the beginning and starts all over again, following the same timeline of events?
I read about something like that a few years ago and was wondering if it had any base at all.

If eternity is time that never ends, nor has a beginning, then is there really an eternity? Also How is it possible for time to start over? Also, if it does repeat itself, how could it follow the exact same path it took before? Also, if it did start over, is there really such a thing as time then? If it did start over, if we were the generation that was at the very edge of a redo, what would happen to us? Would we just dissapear for a long time, or would we just start out at when we were born? However if that were true, and weve established that time does not exist, how can it know when and how I was alive before, when really there was no before?

I don't know, I've just been thinking about this alot lately. Okay, you know how people always say that to go to Heaven you have to believe in God and be religious and such? Well, what about a person who is kind and selfless and is just a good person in general and is an athiest? Does that mean that they wouldn't go to Heaven even though they were a good person who did good for other people? Because if you think about it, not every person who is religious is good. Like the terrorists who flew the plane into the World Trade Center, causing the deaths of all those innocent people. They claimed that they were doing that for God and their religion. I mean, wouldn't it seem wrong for a person just to go to Heaven because they were religious even if they weren't a good person, and a person who was a really good person not going to Heaven because they weren't religious? I was just thinking about this and wondering if anybody had some answers, perhaps?

Hmm some of these answers here are pretty good. Allow me to make my opinion which I believe is based off of fact, since it is written in the Bible. Being a good or bad person does not determine who gets into Heaven or not. Faith in Jesus Christ is what determines it. Look at the man on the cross next to Jesus. He was a murderer and a thief and a rapist and many other things. Based on the good person/bad person idea this man is going to Hell. However, he told the other prisioner being cruxified that he (the man) deserved to be on the cross and not Jesus, and believed Jesus was God the Messiah. The he asked Jesus to remember him when Jesus enters heaven. Jesus promptly told him Today you will be with me in paradise. This man was forgiven and let into heaven for believing in God. Not what he did.

Second Jesus said "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live." John 11:25

He also said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6

These are just two of the passages amoung many.

Being a "good" person is not going to get you into Heaven. In God's eyes we are all sinners and all fall short of the glory of God. Our sin is the never ending ocean between us and God. Jesus is the only bridge to God. What he did on that cross took our sin away from us so long as we believe that Jesus Died for us on that cross, and was resurrected on the third day to show that life does exist after death. God is ready to accept all people over the whole earth, we just have to believe. Not just think that helping an old lady across the street is enough for God to go "Welcome aboard!"

Your sin has been paid for by Jesus. All you have to do is get the reciept from him.


*ADDED* If a person believes in God and does terrible things in his life then does he really believe in God? Believeing causes a change in someone, and someone who says "I believe in God" but then kills someone, is not someone who really does believe in God.

No matter how "good" someone is they still do something against God in their life. The very first sin you've ever done was enough to kick you out of Heaven. Heaven is perfect. Man-kind is nowhere near perfect. SO if you were 5 years old and lied to your parents, but then at age 16 decided to help thousands of people and did so, but did not believe in God, that lie you told when you were 5 was enough for Heaven to shut its doors on you. Thats why the Bible says all you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and follow his call. Saying you believe and hurting someone intentionally later on is not really believeing.
