split between 2 religions

Question Posted Thursday September 28 2006, 2:28 am

Hi. I'm 13/f
My problem is that My mom is really into christianity and all that stuff, but lately I've been getting into witchcraft.(yes, I know the bible says it's an abomination against God) My mom doesn't know, and so she still takes me to church with her every sunday.but whenever I'm in church, I feel like I'm getting a lecture or something like that. She's so into it, she sent me to private school because of the "Moral Values" of it. the truth is, all the kids there are pretty much the same as they would be in public school. We all cuss, some of us smoke and a few of us drink.I mean, I believe in god, but I also believe in spells. I've seen them work before and have succesfully done some. I'm not really sure what to do. Any help???

witchcraft is not a good thing. i mean its not a good thing at all. its from satan himself. i pray to God that you figure that out. i belive that you should drop that like a hot potato. the reason why you're seeing it work, is because the devil can do signs and wonders too. but his is the bad kind. you dont want the bad kind. i pray that you seek God, pray to God. because if you know its not right...why are you doing it? hope this helps.

God bless

Wicca is a very dangerous thing to get yourself into. Spell casting, as in incantation type of junk is straight from the pit of hell and will get you sucked in so fast that you won't have time to think.

So what made you decide to go to wicca? If you know that it is an abomination to God why would you still do it? Sure right now you are young and are trying new things, but what comes after death is far greater than casting a spell right now. You have two choices....Believe what Jesus did and who he is, stop being a wiccan, or continue wicca and spend eternity regretting your decision.

Hello. You may feel like your being lectured because you allow yourself to think that its going to be boring before you even give it a chance. Maybe the church your at isnt right for you, you could always find a different one or talk to your mom about it, if not that then read the bible, let that be your guide since it is God's word, and dont let anyone fool you into another source of faith, God is truth, he is the way and light. All other things come from the devil himself, like wicca, and some people might be offended, but I am not ashamed of the gospel. Spells are the devils work, you are either against God or for him, but you cannot believe in god and do the devils work. Please email me at cornblade@cs.com and ill help you much more, this is your soul on the line, and i want to help!

i have been a wiccan for two years and it is the best thing that ever happened to me is discovering it. my mom is very much against it so i have been practicing it in secret because when i asked her if i could practice it she said it was stupid and not real. i am not telling you to just completly rebel against your mom i just believe people no matter how old they are should be aloud to practice whatever religion they choose. hope i helped:)

I liked wicca when I was your age too. Teen Witch by Silver Ravenwolf is a suggested read.

Anyways,
I think it's absolutely wonderful and awesome that you're exploring your spirituality and have decided to be wiccan or at least experiment with it. It's a very loving and nature-sensitive spirituality.

It sounds like your mom wouldn't be too supportive of it, but if it bothers you to be in church you should at least tell her that. Tell her you have no problem with her faith, but you're exploring yourself and feel that her faith might not be what you're looking for. Hopefully she won't try to force it on you because in my opinion that's not a very christ-like action.

Anyway,
good luck and have fun.
No one should be allowed to force their religion on you by the way, even if it IS your mom.

Combine the two religions. It's called ChristoPaganism in your case. I'm CathloWiccan. You're going to face a lot of prejudice from people of both faiths if you do talk about it, so I recommend saying you're Christian when around Christians, and Pagan when you're around Pagans, or ChristoPagan when you're around an athiest or agnostic.

Both religions "work," in my view.

I identify as a Wiccan more strongly than a Catholic. I'm starting all over again in the church realm--I haven't gone to a service in six years and I've never gone to a confessional. It'll be wierd to go back but that's what I'm choosing.

Just some musing from someone who can relate...

You are noy so young that you don't know your own mind. Whatever your Mother's beliefs, you are entirely free to choose your own.
There are many different paths of spirituality- and perhaps they all lead to the same place?
While you needn't follow someone else path, most religeons have a core of wisdom and truth.
Walk your own path and listen to the higher powers (whatever they are, or if there are any at all) and follow your heart and your soul. Mix and match if you want.
In my oppinion witch craft is not an abomination against God, magic is not unholy. Magic is part of God, part of God's creation and you only have to look around you at the sky and the trees (and people!) to see it. In my oppinion, witches are just people who know these things. There is such a thing as a christian witch, you know. You look into it (try searching google).
However, in your rush to find your way, don't forget your mother. Try not to attack her beliefs- they're just as valid as yours are. If she finds out (or, hopefully, you tell her) explain to her that although you feel differently than she does that you respect her beliefs. Ask her to respect yours. Tell her that you love her no matter what. She may get angry, or upset, but remember that it's because she loves you and is concerned for you. She doesn't want you to fall into what she sees as the pits of eternal damnation.
If you want to find out more about witchcraft, try reading the book "Progressive Witchcraft" by Gavin Bone and Janet Farrar (if you can get hold of it) or looking at the site www.wtichvox.com.
I hope this helps you, and I hope that you learn something about yourself.

You can't really be between two religions, especially with Christianity. Either believe ALL of the bible or NONE of it. Witchcraft is a horible thing to get into, and i suggest you try your best to get out of it.
Now, it doesn't matt3er about the kids at your school, it matters about you.
If you cuss, smoke, and drink, then you are digging a huge hole [along with the witch craft] that is very very hard to get out of.
I say you stop cold turkey doing spells and crap, because christianity promises you much, much more.

Elcee answered Thursday September 28 2006, 8:17 am:
At the moment because you are so young you will have to follow the guidelines that your Mum sets out. There is nothing wrong in getting into witchcraft if that is how you feel. However, I suggest that for now you keep it to yourself. Not because you should be ashamed but because it can be misunderstood.

I suggest finding some books to read at the library to give yourself some background and looking into the various forms of witchcraft. Just because it is called witchcraft does not make it evil - there are many white witches in the world doing good.

Also, at 13 you should not be drinking or smoking because you should value your body and keep in the best condition you can. I believe in God and I also believe in witchcraft. I feel personally that they can co-exist side by side. I wish you all the very best on your journey of discovery.
