well i thank God that you're wanting the fire for him in you. not many people look for that. now, how you get the fire, is you ask God to forgive you of YOUR sins. don't go to the priest and have him do it, bible doesn't say nothin about a priest, its between you and God. after you do that, you ask jesus christ to come into your life, and change you. make you a better person. then you get baptised in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. any other whay will not work. then you start reading the bible, start seeking God, (pray to God) pray to God that he will give you the fire you need to do his will. then you will know, that you are saved. if you have done all these things, i can't wait to meet you up in heaven then. beacuse its a done deal. i hope this helped.

God bless

Listen to mylordwon. They know what is going on. However I must say one thing you might find offencive. Catholicism. It is good to believe in God, and Jesus, Very good in fact, however...Let me just say this first. I grew up catholic. I know what its about. Okay. This'll be tough...remember I am trying to help you. Okay. First thing. The Euchrist. They have this thing where it actually turns into the body of Christ. This is all man made right there. Show it to me in the Bible.

Along with this, they believe you have to cruxify Christ everyday. One time is not enough. When Jesus said "It is accomplished." I think he was trying to tell us something....

Another thing, you ask for forgivness from a priest. Not Christ but a priest. Show me where it says dont ask for forgivness from Jesus but rather from a sinful man. Then he says "say 5 hail marys" or however many. Where did they get that from? Jesus never said "Believe in me, my saints, Saint Mary Holy Mother of Me, and then say 10 hail marys, and Ill see you in paradise"

Another thing. Saint Mary holy mother of God. She can interceede to Jesus for us. Hmm. Heres a verse for ya. "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6) Well. I guess thats another thing that says teh Bible is wrong.

Then there is the rosary Dedicated to Mary. Ive never seen anything about a rosary in the Bible. So if that is the case, then it must be man-made. I pray to Jesus alone. Not Mary, not Saint Christopher, not a necklace, nor a wafer, nor a priest. Why do Catholics take their view from God and place it upon Men? Mary was blessed to be chosen to give birth to Jesus, but she is no queen of heaven or a bridge between me and God. Jesus took that spot.

Then there is purgatory. Where is purgatory in the Bible? Where does it say you have to do good works to get out of it in the Bible? did you know long ago, when Catholics ruled the world, If you wanted to, you could pay a price, walk up some set of stairs pray on each step, and one of your dead relatives would be let out of purgatory and into heaven. Wheres that in the Bible? Catholic is a man made religion. It focus's not on Jesus, but rather on popes, and saints, and relics, and wafers, and mary, and so on.

Im sorry to go on this rant. Catholicism is a false religion, and I want to get people out of it while I still can. Its not about the bible or Jesus in that religion. Its about the pope, and Mary and stuff.

To get your fire back, I would say ask for Jesus to enter your heart. Believe he died for your sins. Not the Euchrist, but CHrist. Know that Mary is not between you and God. Know that a saint cant protect you. Know that a rosary will not save you. Know that Mary will not save you. Christ ALONE will provide salvation. Remeber

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6)

One thing you can start doing is, help your family. Do God's work there. Then go out and spread the Gospel. I find the best way for me to be close to God is do his work no matter how small. Cleaning the church toilets is the work of God. Going out and passing out tracts is the work of God. Going to some site called advicenators.com and talking about Christ is the work of God. Draw close to him, and he will draw close to you.

I hope I helped, and please dont hate me. I dont want you to be blinded by man and his traditions, and walk on teh wide road to destruction...If you want you can work with me on here to help people find God. We can both draw close to God together, then get more people, and more and more, and get the truth out there.

You have got a wonderful attitude. Living for God is just that...denying self. I wonder if you are drifting from God or finally ready to really know Him. Jesus says in Matthew 10:38-39 "And unless you are willing to take up your cross and come with me, you are not fit to be my disciples. If you try to save your life, you will lose it. But if you give it up for me, you will surely find it."

It sounds like you are willing to do that. As you step out into faith and follow God's plan for your life the spark that is kindling in you right now will grow into a blaze.

However, to enter into that kind of relationship with God, one must repent and give one's heart to Him. Being saved is accepting His Son Jesus as your Savior. Jesus is God's gift of grace and the doorway to knowing God the Father. "How do I know I'm saved?" is a frequently asked question. Here is an answer I gave someone else not to long ago:

Romans 8:16 states that; "The spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children." So the first answer to the question of how we know is that the Spirit of God is the one who testifies to us that we are saved. It is not for people to give assurance of salvation, neither is it someone to simply convince themselves that they are saved. It is the work of the Holy Spirit that bears witness with our spirit that we are saved.

The next question should be; how does the Spirit bear witness with our spirit? Ephesians 2:8 tells us "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God..." Faith is the avenue by which a person is saved and it is faith that is produced, by the Spirit, when He testifies that we are God's children (Rom. 10:17). Therefore, we know we are saved because the Spirit of God testifies to our spirit that we are God's children and faith is produced in us.

What is faith? The Bible gives us the definition in Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." So, what the Spirit produces in us when He testifies to our spirit that we are God's children, is a certainty that even though we do not see the full reality of being children of God while we are on this earth, by faith we have an internal confidence that we belong to God. That internal confidence comes from the Lord and that is what we should count on to know that we are saved. If someone lacks that confidence they should seek the Lord to produce that in themselves.

Dear I'm Drifting,

Seems to me you are starting to figure it out on your own. Some people live their entire lives without questioning it!

That fire will burn hottest when you live for yourself. Living your life while you are alive IS living for him. Just make the most of your life here on earth and you will have lived for him. Voluneteer at the local dog shelter, or old folks home. Help your friends and family with projects. Be courteous, honest and gentle.
Do not cheat, steal or manipulate others.
If you feel that you must attend church to get saved, then you will be attending for a very long time. Being saved is not something someone else can do for you. You must do it yourself. No one will save you, but you. We were given life not granted life. It was a gift not borrowed. What we do with it is completely up to us.

In order to get close to anyone, you must first get to know them on a personal level.

You have the internet at your fingertips. Do some searches, put everything that your religion has taught aside for few moments and read outside the bible. Find out what kind of man Jesus was. Find out about his secret love. Read about the passion in his life and WHY people followed him. Read about the life he had that no one will tell you about.

Keep this in mind when you decide to believe the bible's teachings: In every translation there is always a margin for error. Many people can disagree but if they want to, it is their right.

Simply existing and going in the same direction everyone else is going is not living. Break away from the flow and figure things out for yourself. Stop letting other people tell you how to be saved or love him. Change the way you see things and your path to him will make itself very clear. Keep faith in love and family. Live your life. It is the path he has set you on. Do extra ordinary things, not just extrodinary things but extra ordinary things.

Never stop searching for information. No matter what. Keep learning.

Try this for starters.

'First off, I have never felt that "fire" for him and I dont think I ever will. Dont get me wrong, I believe in God and I am Christian and all, but to me, that whole "saved" thing I just dont believe in. I guess my best advice is to just be comfortable with your relationship with God. You dont have to devote all your time to him, the point of Christianity is to be kind and love your neighbor. You should try devoting your good-will to your community as well as maintaining a close relationship with God. xo hope I helped!! ox
