A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

advice

I would love to wear blush, lipstick and eyeshadow that look flattering on me.. but I'm not really into the whole trial and error process anymore.

Any tips with colors? I'm not sure what you'll call my skin tone.. a light olive? I've gone through about 3 shades of blush and many of eyeshadow. It just looks SO odd.

I really want lipgloss/lipstick because I can't really carry vaseline around in my pocket. I would also like to look nice for some job interviews so yeah.

I can't ask for help at a department store because they will test out products and it's like $60 for the makeup artist.

Covergirl has a tool on their website that matches your skintone/hair/eye color with the right products and shades. I can't give you a link since I'm at school, but it's pretty easy to find =]


Lipgloss usually looks very natural. Lipstick is harder to apply (you'll probably need a morror) and when it wears off, it's noticeable. Lipgloss is much easier. Go for a sheer pink or orange-y color. Rimmel Sweet Jelly, Lipsmackers, and Victoria's Secret are three of my personal favorites [Victoria's Secret tastes the best] plus, the store has testers.


As for foundation, match it to your face before you buy it [bring a small mirror with you to the store] but DON'T match it to your hand! Whipped [mousse] foundation blends very well, and is basically foolproof.

I've always considered a fling to be a relationship that didn't get too serious. You might have dated them for a few weeks, but never got into the more serious boyfriend/girlfriend stage.


People often have a "summer fling"- they date someone exclusively for the summer, but never get past that season.

Okay, I'm going to try and type as calmly as possible...

Anyway, My boyfriend's Mother calls about 30 times a day. My boyfriend never wants to talk to her "he doesn't really like his mother much" anyway, We have told her that he doesnt' feel like talking. Yesterday I finally called her back and told her to please stop calling my house. His mother called back 2 minutes later leaving a nasty message saying how I was mentally retarded, and calling her son an ADD bast***.. so I saved the message and didn't call her back. Today she called again!!! only this time she asked us not too call her anymore and that my boyfriends ex girlfriend is going to find us and kick our butts. I'm extremely fed up and I'm extremely P.O.ed one more call and I'm probably going to go through the roof. I don't want to call the police for harrassment just yet because his mother is mentally ill and she's in the hospital for a fractured spine and taking some medication.. but I DO want her to stop calling my house and there is no way to block her on my phone system. I really need some advice PLEASE!!!

Ignore her calls. Yes, she's being crazy right now, but she IS on medication. If she continues to do this when she's 'clear-headed', involve the police. First, just ask if they can block her number, or something similar. What she's doing could be considered harrassment.


For now though I'd give her the benefit of the doubt, because I said some pretty ridiculous things when I was on pain medication [let's just say I was talking about my ex with the attending nurse and leave it at that!] and she might have an irational grudge against you. Talk to her once she's not in so much pain. Good luck!

i dont really understand the guilded age. i know what it is, but i dont truely know. i could recite the definition but thats all. soo, if you know what that is and can explain it, or even give me another definition, that'd be greattt :)

My teacher explained it to me like this [and it truly stuck]. If you took a cheap plate [or anything, really] and covered it in a thin layer of gold, it'd look amazing, right? But underneath that it's just a plate. Nothing special.


There was all these great technological advances & industry was booming, and the wealthy were living the high life/American Dream. That's the gold coating.


Yet there's this not-so-great stuff going on [the lower-classes are suffering/working hard with long work days, dangerous working conditions, child labor, robber barons, etc. etc. That's the plate underneath that you don't see because of the "gold" covering it all.

You're only sinking to their level by seeking revenge. Seriously, people can, and will, say whatever they want about anyone.

The best and most mature thing you can do is deny the rumors, and nothing more. Anything that falls under the category of 'revenge' probably isn't allowed to be given out on this site anyways.

I have this keloid scar that formed after i had a beauty mark removed. The scar is huge and it pops up out of my skin. Are there any ways of getting rid of it besides the whole chop it off again thing?

I had a keloid scar after the same procedure. It took me years to ask my dermatologist about what I could do about it. He gave me a single shot of some kind of steroid directly into the scar [it sounds really painful, but it's just a pinch] and now it's nice and smooth.


I'm pretty sure a regular doctor could do the same thing, or else refer you to someone who could.


EDIT: It was prednizone. If you ask a doctor, they'd know which one to use =]

Nope. I'm assuming you're asking this question based on what other people will think [since you're asking for public opinion] and not because his race is stopping you.


I don't notice someone's race any more than I would their hair color, or eyes. Obviously it's noticeable [hmm, she's very white! Wow, his hair is wicked dark, etc etc]. Neither should anyone else.


Ultimately it comes down to who YOU want to be with. Your family shouldn't stop you based on a person's skin color.

okay so i printed out a monthly calendar for the whole schoolyear (september - june). i was just curious, what's the point of using the monthly calendar? last year, i didn't have / use one (i just wrote it all in my agenda. like if i were to have a test in english on friday, monday - wednesday, i would write "English - Test Friday" and then on thursday i'd write, "English Test Tomorrow!" so i could see it at a glance that way).

(1) i know they're used for keeping track of assignments, due dates, other commitments, etc., but do you think i should just wait until i get busy to see how it works?

(2) isn't it tedious to have to update BOTH your agenda and your monthly calendar everyday?

(3) what are the advantages of using a monthly calendar BESIDES being able to see things "at a glance" ?

1. I'd just use the daily planner part of the agenda for now, since it's been working out for you.


2. Simple answer, yes. If an appointment gets cancelled you'd have to update both places. In most cases it isn't necessary.


3. Using the monthly calendar is good for long-term things, like vacations or research projects. I'd write appointments there too, so that they aren't forgotten, and if I was better about using the monthly part, I'd write down friends and family birthdays.

this is kind of embarassing,but i wear a collared shirt to school (it's part of our uniform) i wear them from aeropastle and well i have stains under my armpits.I put alot of deoderant on so im thinking that's the problem but i dont know how to get those type of stains out of clothes.I tried washing the shirts but the stain is still there under my shirts.I hate having to throw the stained ones away and buying new shirts.Ive recently stopped putting on so much deoderant but i was to get the stains out of my old shirts.Any ideas?

OxyClean Spray stain remover works really well. I got wicked yellowed stains out of white shirts and they look like new. If that doesn't work, try this:

I'd rate it as an 8. The price is the worst part =P It gets incredibly hot- 450 degrees fahrenheit. I think most straighteners go up to 375 or so, and the extra heat makes a difference; it's faster.


My hair is incredibly soft, and it stays smooth and straight all day. I straighten in small sections, to prevent any bumps & waves. Also, I use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum with it, and between that and the tourmaline, random people have asked if they can touch my hair and see if it's as soft as it looks =D


I've never had my hair straight for three days striaght without washing it, but it's lasted for two days just fine. Sometimes I'll have to iron out a couple waves from the side I slept on, other than that it's perfect. My hair's wicked stubborn, too, so I bet other hair types fare much better than mine.

I absolutely adore that straightener :] I seem to be answering a lot of these today.


Anyway, I have the 1.25", but it's the same iron. It gets my hair totally pin striaght, and I have wicked stubborn hair. Damage really is reduced, compared to other straighteners. It never snags your hair like others do, and the plates stay smooth.


If you're willing to pay that much for a straightener, you definitely get your money's worth.

If you have really long, thick hair, get the 1.5"

Otherwise, a smaller size will be easier to manipulate, and will be lighter too. A smaller iron can also curl [if you get the hang of it] and it's easier to straighten bangs & short pieces.


So unless your hair is like, past your elbow, a smaller iron will probably be fine.

i feel like my own mother dont want me. She has never came straight out and say it, but she gets so mad at me all the time and i dont know why, she just blows up. And she does it almost everyday and i think that my grandpa dont want me and it kills me because i know she loves me but i just feel like im a burden to her. Like i cry myself to sleep all the time thinking about it. I am crying right now. And i dont want to tell my friends because they will just tell me i am over reacting and my dad will just tell me to live with him. But i dont want to. I love my mom to death. But i just feel like she dont want me sometimes. And i dont want to leave and i dont want to talk to her about it because she will get more mad and i am afraid she will kick me out or loose "respect for me"...i dont know what to do but please help me...

Sometimes parents get angry and take it out on you. It sucks, but that's the way it works. I'll assume from your question that your parents are divorced or separated. Your mom might be worried about losing you- or having you go live with your dad. Next time she gets mad at you, just walk away from the conflict- literally. Avoiding unnecessary fights is a good thing. Also, saying "Mom, I don't want to fight about this, I just want to say _______ "


Talking to her might help, for example if she's making unreasonable demands for you, try to compromise. Do it at a time she's not wicked upset, maybe over dinner [or any mean you eat together]. TELL her that you love her. Sure, she knows it. But it's still nice to hear, right? Maybe you'll both start saying it more.

I'm not even sure if convincing is the right word to use. I'm driving three hours away to the next city over, for a little vacation and I'm apprehensive about taking my car. It's a piece of crap. And the AC doesn't work and it's been in the 90s lately. I could go on forever.

Long story short, how can I even approach my Dad about letting me borrow his car? I don't even know what to say or where to begin!

"Hey Dad, could I borrow your car when I go to the city this weekend? I'm worried about mine breaking down, and I don't want to be far away if it does. Plus the AC is broken."


He might offer suggestions, help fix the AC, give you his AAA card, or even let you borrow the car if he thinks you're trustworthy. Good luck!

Err..okay. So, lately i've been sweating alot from my armpits and it's annoying and pretty nasty to me. I want to know how to..stop it? And if by any chance anybody know a good way to clean sweat stains from a shirt..?

Secret Clinical Strength is amazing. You apply it at night and use regular deoderant in the morning.


Sweat stains can be removed with a couple methods. I always use OxyClean spray-on stain remover on white shirts, and it gets every kind of stain imaginable out. I've heard that bleach can darken them, though, so try to avoid using that.

I buy from ebay, and so whenever a package comes to my house, my mom just says "Oh what'd you buy?"
She doesn't ask too much or anything, but I just bought a belly button ring off of it, and she doesnt know I have it pierced.
1) So when it comes what should I say I bought? Like a pair of earrings?

Keep in mind that she might figure out that you pierced it eventually. It's best not to lie. If you don't want to tell her just yet, saying that it's jewelry is your best bet, because it's true. Lying to parents never ends well.

when spraying perfume, how/where should you spray it on yourself so that when you hug a guy, he will smell it?

I spray my perfume once on my wrists, and rub them together lightly [too much, and it'll wear off too quickly] Then, I do one spray on my neck/collarbone, and flip my hair through it as I spray. That way, the scent lasts a long time [scent lingers in hair longer than on skin] but I'm not choking anyone either. Anything more than like, three sprays of perfume is too much. Body spray you can apply more.


An alternative to spraying on your neck is two spray the air in front of you twice, then walk through it. Both methods work well, it's just a matter of personal preference.
