Question Posted Monday September 1 2008, 9:17 am

I buy from ebay, and so whenever a package comes to my house, my mom just says "Oh what'd you buy?"
She doesn't ask too much or anything, but I just bought a belly button ring off of it, and she doesnt know I have it pierced.
1) So when it comes what should I say I bought? Like a pair of earrings?
2) And if she DOES open it, which i doubt she would, what should I tell her? For a friend?
Thank youu!

Yes, if she asks then tell her you bought a pair of earrings. (You can run to the mall and get a random pair of cheap earrings in case she would be concerned if you don't wear them. My mom would be like, "Why don't you ever wear those new earrings you bought?")

If she opens it and asks you what the belly button ring is all about, then say that's not what you ordered and you must have gotten the wrong shipment.

You could tell her it was jewelry.
Keep in mind that she might figure out that you pierced it eventually. It's best not to lie. If you don't want to tell her just yet, saying that it's jewelry is your best bet, because it's true. Lying to parents never ends well.

If she does ask, just tell her it's a present for a friend. Or just something you ordered for a friend and she's paying you back.

So if she asks ''What did you buy?'' tell her ''Jewelry for a friend''

If she wants to see it tell her that the friend is getting her bellybutton pierced for birthday or whatever.

Easy enough :)
